I've gone to this school since freshman year. I'm a junior now. I've made friends here, I show up,…read moreand I try to do what I'm supposed to do but tbh let's stop pretending this school doesn't have major problems. Because it does. The policies are bad, and they punish students instead of actually helping them learn. The school says it cares about education, but the moment a student gets a few tardies, they're thrown into in-house suspension and stuck on a laptop all day. That's not teaching. That's not helping. That's isolating students from real classrooms and calling it "discipline." How does removing students from class help them succeed? It doesn't. i would like an explanation to counter claim that. putting them in in-house isn't going to help them for the future, some kids don't even want to come to school because they don't want to sit in in-house. And the tardy system itself is ridiculous. Morning traffic on 5th Street and Alexander is a mess every single day. Parents block the bike lane to drop off their kids, cars are half in the road, and no one can move. I've literally been unable to get into the parking lot because of this. That delay is completely out of students' control, but we're the ones getting punished for it? First period tardies should not be treated the same as being late to class during the day. In the morning, students have to fight traffic, find parking, and walk across campus. Getting a tardy and having it go on your record because you're one minute late is unfair. One minute does not mean a student doesn't care. It means the system is broken. If this school actually cared about learning, it would fix the traffic issues and rethink policies that keep students out of classrooms. Right now, it feels like the school is more focused on control than education and students are the ones paying the price. if you want kids to learn let them learn.

WORSE ATHLETIC's I have ever experienced in my life. My son was so excited to start High School…read morewith Canyon Springs. My son has played football since he was 5 years old, so imagine his excitement to finally play at the High School level. Or so we thought! Yeah this school is a JOKE, and so is the staff behind athletics. As many children that suffer every year from Depression, Anxiety, Suicidal thoughts and the list goes on, you would think these schools would take it more serious when they have students who are motivated to participate in activities to keep them busy. Well not at CANYON SPRINGS, I guess you have to be considered one of their favorites. I have had to order MIDDLE SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS which was baffling to me considering my son is only a freshman and has been with CCSD since Kindergarten. They have put me through Hoops and Loops all to tell my son every week he still isn't eligible to play, but not reason for it. I have contacted the School district 5x's requesting to speak with Jonathon Grande, the Superintendent Jhone Ebert, and the Superintendent for the school Lindsay Thomason and have gotten nothing but "There not available right now". I bet their available when their paycheck hits their bank account!!! How are you not available to speak with a parent, which is the reason you have your job. I've tried to contact the school principal all to be told "He's in a meeting right now" and still no call back. At this point, my concerns will have to go to the News because that is the only way I will get some attention regarding my concerns. If this is how we are starting off the relationship with my son, myself and Canyon Springs High School, they may as well give me a desk and my own phone line because they are going to be hearing from me A LOT!!! CCSD and Canyon Springs, YOU MUST DO BETTER to educate and encourage these children to participate so we will stop having so many students failing and committing suicide from the depressions of life and school! I know this from ACTUAL EXPERIENCE and I REFUSE to go through it again, even if that means I have to sit outside of the school district or school everyday until they finally do their job and process my sons account on register my athlete so he can play football.

They have their Google reviews turned off, where you can't leave a review and it's 100%…read moreunderstandable this school has frustrated me for the whole entire year down to not having my son's 504 and IEP in order and just overall the teachers mainly the principal who seems to not never give someone a call back even if it's in a dire situation down to them allowing teenagers to answer the phone with a killer attitude that make you want to put your hands on them! Honestly there's a couple of good teachers that really do take their job seriously but overall like I said the assistant down to the principal down to the ladies within the office allow so much to transpire but will not be sending my son this to this school next year this school allows the bullying allows the torment allows the suicide thoughts run across our kids and don't care! It's very sad cuz I never of my son being in school felt defeated when it comes to his education until he came to this school not even just his education alone just his safety his sanity everything and every time he tries to conversate with someone it falls on deaf ears every time I request the phone call back it falls on deaf ears!

They come to work miserable ready to take all the things going wrong in their personal lives out on students, parents, and even some staff. The lady at the register is an absolute (pardon my language) but a bitch. they have no type of human decency in that office and are always miserable like if the kids are at fault for their career choice. Even had teachers come into that office and back out with different attitudes due to the way they maneuver in that office. Stop Just Hiring People who have these types of attitudes and ways. Instead hire genuine and understanding people. and this is why the world is the way it is because people like this are raising our upcoming generations.

Founders Classical Academy Las Vegas…read more Our family's experience with Founders Academy has been deeply disappointing and troubling. Based on our interactions with school leadership, we do not feel that this school respects its students or their parents, particularly families from the Black community. We raised a serious concern after our son was spoken to by a teacher using language we found inappropriate and unacceptable. When we attempted to address the issue directly and respectfully, our concerns were dismissed and redirected rather than acknowledged. Despite clearly communicating the urgency of the matter to school leadership, we were ignored for days before a meeting was finally scheduled. When we did meet with leadership, instead of being heard, we were repeatedly interrupted, talked over, and made to feel as though our concerns were invalid. Our child's experience was dismissed outright, despite the fact that students were the only witnesses present during the incident. The focus was consistently shifted away from the actual issue and onto controlling the conversation rather than resolving the problem. Most alarming was the escalation by a member of leadership, who accused my husband of being aggressive simply for using his hands while speaking and went so far as to threaten to call the police. This was completely unwarranted and deeply disturbing. For Black families, threats of law enforcement are not just inappropriate they are intimidating and harmful. No parent calmly advocating for their child should ever be treated this way. Unfortunately, this behavior reflects a pattern. Prior interactions with the same administrator have been marked by rudeness, condescension, and a lack of professionalism. At no point did we feel respected, supported, or valued as parents. A school should be a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for children and families. Based on our experience, Founders Academy failed to meet that standard. We strongly caution other parents especially Black families to carefully consider whether this is a school environment where their voices will truly be heard and their children treated with dignity.

My daughter is 9yrs old, very quiet little girl. This is her first year year and with yhe weather change. She started wearing pants. But to disrupt education and send a little child to the office like she's in big trouble for not having a belt is completely unacceptable and I will be taking both my kids out of this school as soon as I can. And leaving a horrible review on every platform so everyone knows how crazy strict this school is with uniforms. Humiliating kids and having them call their parents almost crying for a belt. Absolutely not .no wonder they have a horrible retention grading. Makes sense We will be leaving thia school asap
