My son started around 2.5 years old and is now 4.5 years old. This school has been such a positive influence on his learning and development. We've had Miss Carla as the director for these 2 years and she's so caring and nurturing and you can really tell what a positive influence she has on both the school staff and the children. The staff helped potty train my son all the way to writing his name, reading, doing math, and they put extra effort into meeting his needs and ensuring he has the support he needs. The staff ALWAYS report any incidents no matter how small, and I have never felt like there's been an issue that I didn't know about. And any time we did run into issues (which were not often), his teachers and Miss Carla always prioritized an effective resolution in a timely manner. I have ALWAYS felt like my son is safe and in caring hands at this school. They have an app that I use to communicate with the teachers, they always keep me updated on my sons activities, nutrition, etc. My husband has been deployed multiple times which has been hard on my son, but the staff here always have been empathetic and understanding and supportive of my son during those hard times. Miss Carla treats all the children with unconditional love, and I'm very thankful for the positive influence she's had on our lives. She set the bar so high, I know when we move it's going to be really hard to find another school that will meet our expectations thanks to the high standard that she's set. We toured so many schools in the area and this was the only one that felt right. The care the teachers put in and the director is absolutely phenomenal. We loved her main teacher but she did transition out of the service. Her new main teachers are Dana and Karissa and I adore both of them! A thing currently wrong about this school is that students are too scared to tell any staff about which students are bullying or possibly threatening them which upsets me because the staff could help a lot. There are students scared to come to school because some of these students are so rude? Ive seen some kids get bullied so much the past couple years and if i was them i wouldn't want to come to school at all. The education here i feel is a bit below average, students here are smart but some teachers are bad at explaining and shy students are afraid to ask for help. I'm a fast learner but sometimes I get stuck on something and just never learn the topic. Teachers need to focus on certain students that may need the extra help so possibly give more tutoring opportunities for students? I have been in trouble at the school before and I would say it was handled nicely. I mean staff were encouraging me to open up about what happened and didn't yell at me or anything but im not short tempered like some students which is probably making some of us scared to talk to you guys because you cant keep your composure when students get upset or angry at you or someone else which makes me pretty upset. This daycare has both strengths and areas that need improvement. My biggest concern is the staffing. The turnover is noticeable, and the center often seems understaffed. Because of that, my daughter has had several different teachers, making it difficult for her to build the consistency and relationships that young children really need. The dilemma I have is, I have seen things fall through the cracks that were concerning, and I believe many of those issues stem from the staffing challenges rather than a lack of care. That said, I want to recognize Yasmine. She has been absolutely wonderful with my daughter and the other children. She is attentive, caring, and has been a positive part of our experience that she gave me confidence in keeping my daughter at this location I truly hope this location is able to retain more staff and create the consistency needed. I can see the effort being made, and I'm hopeful things continue to improve.
