Deltas response to the pandemic was fantastic. The provided space and mandated social distancing always provided comfort

First time back at GPIA since the massive remodel and wow does it look great…read more.. We haven't been to Whitefish since 2024 when GPIA was under major construction... We flew in this time and it was like we landed on a different planet. The architects and contractors did amazing job with the new airport... It looks like something out of Yellowstone with Taylor Sheridan's handprints all over it. GPIA has that modern "Montana Cool" feel, eccentric architecture, and is much larger than before. The old GPIA was like flying out of a shack in Alaska (or something), but the new airport is 180 degrees. My only gripe is there are still limited flights in/out of GPIA, especially in the winter months (I'm guessing flights pickup during the summer months, which is peak season). United in their usual United fashion once again had flight planning issues, resulting in delays of morning flights out of GPIA... It ended up screwing us (yet again) with a missed connection, so we had a 7+ hour layover in Denver. When flying out of GPIA, it's suggested taking a late morning or early afternoon flight *particularly* if flying United because there's a high probability of early morning delays (apparently United flight planning hasn't mastered basic/simple mathematics because they certainly do not know how to calculate crew rest time, thus causing flight delays) "or" fly Delta. Nonetheless, the new GPIA looks awesome and is a breeze to get in/out of (as long as you're not flying United Airlines).

I had an experience that went from bad to great!…read more I flew into GPI from Phoenix gateway yesterday. Nice short flight with good service from the flight crew as usual. I was a little late when I went to pick up my bag at the carousel, as I was in the "necessary" room. As I waited for the duffel, it did not roll out! Finally the carousel stopped and all that was left were a few odd bags. But one looked exactly like mine, same brand, same size, same color, except it had another persons name tag on it! Puzzled, I took a cell phone snapshot of the tag and ticket of the doppelgänger duffel and went to the allegiant counter. A lovely young lady stepped up, I asked if she was with Allegiant, and she claimed to be "Allegiant" herself, which I doubted. She gathered info about my missing bag and passed it to her manger Jo (I'm guessing about the spelling). Jo looked up the manifest and confirmed my bag and the doppelgänger bag were indeed on board. We both surmised the other person took my bag and left his at the carousel. She phoned him. No answer. So I gave her my business card and asked her to call me if anything came up. She asked where I was staying. About 30 miles from the airport in Bigfork, I said. She then turned up the service dial and said "that's on my way home from work! If I find your bag I'll drop it off for you!" Mind Blown, I went away hoping the young lady would help me. She called me an hour later, said she had the bag and promptly delivered my bag to me. Mission accomplished Jo! Thank you for your great service! Y'all work hard over there and are continuing that Montana tradition of neighborliness. "Montana, the biggest small town in the world." As someone who has flown quite a bit, affordability is the only thing this airline has going for…read moreit. But couple that with delayed flights or worse completely canceled flights with no resolution basically makes this airline useless. I've had multiple poor experiences with this airline including canceled flights in the middle of a trip stranded us in unfamiliar locations, poorly communicated policies and very little empathy for stressful situations. I understand travel is expensive but honestly since switching to reputable carriers like Delta, United, Alaska etc and paying more we've yet to have a experience that any of these carriers aren't willing to help fix or even just empathize with the traveler and try there hardest to make it right. Will never travel with allegiant again.

Shayla, our host, texted us ahead of time to make sure we were all set for a smooth check-in. That small gesture alone made us feel genuinely cared for. Each day, Shayla prepared the most delicious homemade baked goods, which made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Since we planned to head to Glacier National Park early each day, she kindly packed to-go breakfasts for us--always thoughtful, fresh, and satisfying. On the mornings we stayed in, she served beautiful homemade breakfasts that were just as delicious. The extra touches throughout the lodge made our stay even more special--the self-serve charcuterie, fresh fruit, and beverages were such a nice bonus. The lodge itself was peaceful and quiet, which we really appreciated. We stayed for five nights and can confidently say this was one of our favorite places we've ever stayed. Thank you, Good Medicine Lodge, for such a memorable experience!

As we stepped through the front door, we were greeted by a garden full of blooming peonies--such a lovely and welcoming touch. The house was immaculate, and everything was clearly labeled with helpful instructions. Whether you were heading out for a day in Glacier National Park or relaxing at the lodge, anything you could need was available--maps, bear spray, sunscreen, coolers, even wine and snacks for the trail. There were also cool drinks, water, and freshly baked goods waiting for us each evening--such thoughtful hospitality. Our bedroom was not the largest room in the lodge, but very comfortable. After long hikes in the park, we looked forward to soaking in the hot tub each evening. The backyard had BBQs, lawn games, and picnic tables--it would be a perfect place for a family reunion or even a small wedding. Kayla, our hostess, couldn't have been more helpful. She was warm, engaging, and full of great suggestions for exploring Glacier. She and her coworker Meghan prepared the most delicious breakfasts each morning--beautifully presented and thoughtfully tailored to our dietary needs. This place is truly a treasure. The owners are lucky to have Kayla and Meghan running the lodge with such heart and care. If you're visiting Whitefish, I highly recommend staying at Good Medicine Lodge.

Red Eagle Aviation - 1-Hour Tour of Glacier National Park…read moreAbsolutely incredible experience! Red Eagle Aviation is the only aviation company authorized to fly over Glacier National Park, and it shows in their professionalism and deep respect for the land and its visitors. John Paul, the owner, personally led our tour. He's hands-on, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Glacier. His respect for the park's boundaries and the hikers below was evident, and he made sure every member of our family--especially our 11-year-old granddaughter--felt engaged and included. Although we've explored Glacier extensively over the past five years, seeing it from the air offered an entirely new perspective. The scale, the terrain, and the vastness suddenly made more sense--especially those ridgelines we've always wondered about. If you're planning to visit Glacier, do this first. It will shape how you experience the park. There's no better guide for this than John Paul--experienced, respectful, and deeply connected to this incredible landscape. A must-do for anyone who truly wants to know Glacier.

I filed out the refund paperwork, and then as we were leaving again, we were stopped this time by the owner. He wanted to meet us and again apologize for the unfulfilled experience. Shook our hands and invited us to come back on a nicer day. Next time we are back in kalispell, we will definitely give it another shot. What could have turned me completely away from the experience was completely turned around by the kind owners and managers of Red Eagle Aviation. ALSO, OUR pilot Ryan was so kind and concerned about my situation. GREAT PEOPLE THERE.
