Due to MY stupidity, I messed up my departure city when I booked my flight. When I arrived for my flight at the airport I usually use, I realized the mistake (similar names/an hour away) , I started to panic. Went to one of the ticket agents, Sheila and explained what I had done. She got busy, rescheduled me on a later flight from where I was and I will arrive at my destination at the same time I needed. Delta is my preferred airline and I tend to go with them due to their app, perks, boarding and bag benefits as a Gold member. Here in Savannah it was a smooth arrival and baggage claim. No issues. It's a smaller airport so easy to navigate through and not a lot of fuss as far as pick-up or drop-off goes. Always appreciated! read more

I love Delta I try to fly them whenever I can. I was especially happy this morning when at 4 am in the Atlanta airport I noticed how amazing the staff was. Everyone working was so friendly and upbeat and one worker even ran after a family to make sure they got their bag tags. Such a great morning crew ! read more

getting ready for my cruise......of course snowstorm in Georgia. They barely plow in this state. Savannah airport shut down for 4 days. The world stopped for 3 inches of snow. we called constantly for airport updates. we were told by Delta that our flight would go out on time at 6 a.m. Everything went great til we boarded. 45 mins. later we are waiting for the one and only de-icer truck for Delta and told it was broken but they would borrow one from United. well that is against airport regulations! They take us off the flight and finally ,after an hour get their truck fixed. ( two hours delayed at this point.) We definitely can't make our connecting flight out of Atlanta. We book the next one. The REAL PROBLEM starts with the gate attendant. The flight starts to board but the gate attendant has a horrible time with the scanner and can't seem to manage, when it only took 15 minutes to board the first time with the other supervising manager ( very smooth) . The gate attendant takes so long to get boarding done that the pilot comes off the plane and is clearly miffed at her inability ( because clearly it was her) Some people booked other flights and said they did not trust Delta. Now we are going to be delayed another hour and as we are waiting again in line it was clear that we would not even make our second booked connecting flight. In line we quickly made our 3rd connecting reservation . Delta could not get our luggage on to the third connection and our luggage (for our cruise) arrived 1/2 hour after our ship left. We made the cruise with minutes to spare. Delta rerouted our luggage again back to Savannah. We had to manage our cruise with no luggage or cloths and by their grace they flew our luggage to San Juan on day four. We had to spend 4 days trying to get the cruise and Delta coordinated with our luggage. Delta did go all out with the circumstances. The catalyst to this stressful journey was the gate agent at Savannah, flight 1702 Saturday 6 a.m. January 25, connecting to Atlanta. Sooooo many people were on edge . Boarding took almost an extra hour! How to make a bad situation worse! when the pilot comes off the plane you know there's a problem. He spoke to her because he realized She should not be working in that position! The supervising gate agent was great and so was the pilot. I know it was a wild snow event but it was clearly not the passengers fault either. read more

Saturday June 22 12:15 pm ish Today I was standing in the sky priority area - sort of in the middle... waiting. And Vanessa told me that I needed to move. And I was confused... She said I needed to move down to the end. So I went down to the end. Then when I came back to review the situation after being totally frustrated by her behavior,- , I was standing in the sky priority area. She said I was standing in the middle. And needed to wait for someone to call me like she was a mother and I was a child. She was such a bitch I don't even like to use that word but that is her behavior today. Totally outside of what I have ever experienced with Delta Airlines. she could've asked me if I was a priority... But she did not ask. I live north of Salt Lake City and I love flying Delta, but if I'm gonna be treated like this... Then I'm going to rethink my carrier. All she had to do was ask me... Hey, ALL airlines are about the same these days and some do a little better so that is my Delta experience. The leg room is pretty much the same on all with the exception of 1st, business and comfort class. The other thing to like about Delta is if there is an issue, you can go to a gate and actually talk with someone WITHOUT having to call 1-800-Blah-Blah. Going forward, I will look more into Delta and their fares and destinations and see if it works. read more

I am going to shout this on Yelp : ROB at the ticket counter in Savannah saved us with his genius idea, and hard work on our behalf at the computer this morning. I will not go into detailS but just say my husband and I had a very frustrating morning and he jumped right in to help with kindness and humor. Unfortunately, I do not know his last name but we were flight DL2326. Thank you Rob! Delta : please give this guy a promotion and a raise!! The BEST employee for you E V E R, and he likes Seinfeld! *update : Because of the delays and lack of crew etc my husband and I had to split up on different airplanes after checking in at one city and having to catch an Uber to another city to get different planes. I had to switch my flight out of Savannah last minute couple weeks ago on account of hurricane Dorian. Allegiant only flys to providence on Thursdays so I booked a flight with delta only one day in advance. This was a very early morning flight it left at 6am. When I arrived at the airport 4:40 am the line at the delta counter was super long and almost out the door. But soon enough a second ticket agent showed up and the line began to move faster. I checked a bag which wasn't too expensive either $25 or $35 if I remember correctly. Either way not bad! The fellow at the counter was very friendly which I appreciate at 5am. He said "you're going all the way to providence with us today" which made me feel like I was going on a journey. He also wished me a good flight as I was leaving the counter. The only downside besides the long line was the planes on both legs of the journey were very old. In Savannah I boarded a MD-88 and in Atlanta I traveled on an MD-90 both were old and cramped. When I flew back on Allegiant our plane was much newer and roomier. read more

Delta is nice because they are large and always have a flights out of every airport. They typically don't have huge delays or cancellations like some airlines. The planes aren't the most comfortable but aren't uncomfortable the newer planes have TVs with free programming built into the headrest which is nice. read more

I love Delta. It's the only airline I trust. It is rarely the cheapest but for me it's the best. Their flights are usually on time. Their pilots and stewardesses are well trained. Most of their desk clerks are nice. I am a fan. read more

I cannot remember when this was. Okay, story time. One winter, we were traveling from Savannah to New York JFK. That morning we saw that our flight had already been delayed for three hours for no reason. I have also previously been on FlightAware to find out Flight, and noticed that the number did not exist. Okay, so after lunch, it had been three hours, the flight was delayed for more hours, so we figured we would go watch a movie. Okay, yeah that's fine. However the story does not end. After spending another TWO hours at the airport, we learned that our flight had been cancelled. Then we spent the next SEVEN hours calling and complaining to the agent. Okay, now it's a problem, there is NO weather problems in New York. Not ANY issue, they just wanted to cancel because it had been delayed so long. can't The people in the customer service over the phone then threatened to cancel our return trip. We then had to spend two more hours calling JETBLUE to REBOOK $1,000 WORTH OF TICKETS. We have WASTED AN entire DELTA ONE WAY TICKET PLUS $1,000. No apology, no reply from delta on Facebook, no compensation. Delta Airlines Is the worst airline ever. Driving form Savannah to New York only takes less than how long we took. We arrived at the hotel, around 17 hours after we were supposed to. Thanks delta for the waste of money. You really made our day. I have continued to fly delta from other airports, not savannah. I can give you an overview that my experience does not represent what every passenger will experience unless you're unlucky, don't fly them out of SAV to another big city, or don't fly them out during busy days. No hotel voucher. Edit: happened in 2015-ish. Anyways. Story time over. I understand you Guys May have had a great experience, because delta is still a fair airline overall in Atlanta, but they made that experience make me make up my mind about the awful experience that day. just the service that day at the airport with the airline reps and everything going on, etc sucked. read more

This is probably the worse experience I have ever had with an airline. I was booked for a direct flight to charlotte a month in advance. The night before, Delta emailed me about early check in which I did. The airline emailed me again at 12 midnight to say my flight has been cancelled and gave me an itinerary that said I would be leaving out the day after. I look at other flights they had and the only thing available was a morning flight which had two layovers! I arrived to the airport a hour early just to find out that the flight has been delayed due to the late arrival of a flight attendant. I asked the person at the gate how long it will be until we board and his response was"I don't know". The flight was suppose to leave at 9:45am; however, we were waiting on the plane for another hour because the airline forgot to clean off the plane. My connected flight was leaving at 12:54pm. We landed at exactly 12:30 and yet, we still had to wait. I did not get to the next gate until 12:46 which was right next door. The person for Delta said she had to give my seat away because she waited and it took too long. The flight doesn't shut the doors until 10 mins before which would've been 12:44 but saying she was waiting a long time. 2 minutes? Now, I have to wait longer and will not reach my destination until tonight. This 2 hour flight has turned into an entire day and waste of time. Delta really needs to be more organized because this is unacceptable. I highly doubt I will be taking this airline again in the future. read more
