Had a very poor experience at the Savannah Airport location run by Enterprise Rent-A-Car / Alamo Rent A Car. April 6 we went to Enterprise and were refused a rental for not having a passport. We are Canadian, which contradicts their stated requirements. When we asked for clarification, the manager refused to check or show any policy and spoke to us in a dismissive and confrontational way. The situation escalated to the point where we were threatened with security if we didn't leave, which was both embarrassing and unnecessary. April 7 we returned to the airport to rent from Alamo, not realizing it is part of the same company. This time we had a passport, but were still refused a rental. We were told they would not rent to us based on our interaction the previous day. Staff again refused to explain any policy or provide documentation when asked, and were dismissive throughout. At that point, it no longer appeared to be about requirements, but about how we were being treated. The overall experience felt unnecessarily hostile and personal. Two trips to the airport, time and money wasted, and no rental either day. I contacted corporate 5 to 6 times and was promised follow ups, but never received a single response. Absolutely unacceptable experience. More than 40 people were waiting to pick up rental cars that had already been reserved and were supposed to be available. Many of us waited over two hours, sitting on the airport floor with our luggage, just waiting for someone to help us. The location was extremely understaffed, but what made the situation worse was the complete lack of urgency. When you have 40+ customers who have just gotten off flights and are waiting hours for vehicles they reserved in advance, there should be some effort to communicate what's happening, bring in additional help, or find a solution. Instead, everyone was basically left sitting there waiting. I was frustrated enough that I contacted the area manager directly through LinkedIn and also reached out to the corporate office. That's something I shouldn't have to do just to get attention brought to a situation like this. I understand that businesses can get unexpectedly busy and staffing problems happen. But a two-hour-plus wait with more than 40 customers backed up isn't a minor inconvenience. It's a major operational failure. If you have a reservation here, don't assume that means your car will actually be ready when you arrive. Based on our experience, I'd seriously consider renting somewhere else. read more

000000 Stars! No Stars for the Savannah Airport Enterprise! Extremely disappointing. After picking up the rental vehicle, I started to notice a strong odor consistent with drugs inside the car. I was traveling with young children, which made this especially concerning from a health and safety standpoint. In addition, the vehicle's maintenance warning light came on indicating a potential mechanical issue. We did try to purchase fabric refresher and car deodorizer to settle the smell but it appeared, nothing helped. W brought these concerns to the attention of the on-site management from where we rented the car from and requested a different vehicle. We were told as long as there was availability trading this car in for another would not be an issue. We arrived at the airport where there was more than enough inventory. In spite of other vehicles were visibly available, management refused to assist or provide a replacement because of the holiday season. I was left with no reasonable alternative and felt completely disregarded as a customer, particularly given the safety implications for my children. We are also traveling for the holidays. This experience fell far below acceptable standards for customer service and vehicle safety. I expect rental vehicles to be clean, properly maintained, and safe--especially when families are involved. The worst enterprise experience so far. The attendant was rude, They tried to gaslight me into accepting a smaller vehicle than what I reserved. When I finally got the car of the size class we reserved, it was dirty, completely empty on fuel, and REEKED of smoke. They had no substitutes available and that's what my family & I had to live with. I had to roll the windows down when traveling with my 2 y.o. Daughter because of the smoke. It's like they didn't attempt ozone or any method of removing the smoke smell! They never ever answer their phone. I was trying to request a discount for the bad vehicle. No response. Corporate customer service put in a request for them to contact me, they never did. Only this location apparently can make it right. No other location, not corporate customer service. Unbelievable! Great experience with them. Sometimes a few bucks more to rent with them but definitely worth it. Plenty of help when checking in to make it minimal wait. Car was well cleaned and had a number of choices for the class I reserved. The drop off was even easier. Staff ready to take the vehicle and quick drop off with immediate receipt. We're told we had to go over and sit down and make a reservation online. Recently was in an accident the insurance company rented the car through Enterprise, the first car we received had a tire pressure warning light, and it smelt like marijuana inside the car the second car they gave us was damaged in the front end and the driver's tire was rubbing the fender well, when we complained about that they said it would be a few days before they could get us another one until we mentioned that it was unsafe to drive and did not understand why they were renting a damaged car like this. Terrible experience at this location. I had to book a rental car for a work trip and called to make my reservation and confirm that there was somewhere I could leave my current car for the week. The woman on the phone told me that yes, they had a lot I could leave my car in and it would be no extra charge. She said they had a special lot for their customers to leave their personal vehicles. I called again on my way down to confirm my reservation and confirm that I could leave my vehicle there. The new woman once again said that yes, they had somewhere I could leave my car. I arrived at the airport after a 4 hour drive and the woman at the front desk was not very pleasant and told me that she had no idea who I spoke with but they did not have anywhere I could leave my car aside from the paid parking lot all the way across the airport. This was incredibly aggravating because I had already asked 2 people from Enterprise on the phone about it and they had said there was. The attendant that showed me to my rental was very nice, but she told me they had quite a few options for me to choose from in my class range, just like the women on the phone had said. She showed me a small blue Ford SUV, then that was it. They had no other options for me even though everyone I had spoken with had told there were plenty. I then asked the attendant, just to confirm one last time, that there was nowhere for me to leave my car with them because the women on the phone had told me there was. The attendant solved the mystery, apparently this location does not have phones!!!!! She said the people I talked to were just customer service agents and were most likely working from home! How on earth are you supposed to run a successful business and satisfy your high paying customers if you don't have phones! I have read other reviews from this location and it seems many people are struggling with getting Enterprise to communicate with them and this would be the reason!! I have watched my dad use enterprise every trip we've gone on my whole life, so when it came time for me to rent my first car on my own, i decided to stay loyal and stick with Enterprise. I am so incredibly disappointed and this has really ruined my opinion of Enterprise. My husband booked a car to rent for my sons prom, when we arrived they wanted to charge an additional 400$ on top of the 300$ we already paid because we are local, this was not communicated at the time of booking. Terrible terrible experience. We had a warning message on the car we rented and were advised to bring it to an enterprise location.We were told there was a car for us over the phone and we would swap vehicles. Then we arrived and there was no vehicle. The employees didn't do much other than the initial first employee to help us. I had 3 kids with me and a packed car and I was stuck in the airport for 3 hours while on the phone with enterprise corporate (who said they would call back but never did to escalate the issue) to help me get the car they told me they had. The employees pretty much just kept saying there "nothing we can do" with little to no effort. While me and my party of 6, newborn included were suffering purely because we listened to enterprise customer support to swap cars. They didn't even try to get creative or rent us 2 cars as a potential solve. The worst part was when I came up with the possible solve ,3 hours in, to rent 2 cars for my party of 6. They said they had zero vehicles. I went on the app and they had tons of vehicles still available. They flat out lied to me. They would rather lie to me and say there were no cars than actually try to solve. I've rented enterprise since I was 18. I only ever use them and I'm now 35. And we were most impressed with her hospitality at 8pm at night which must have been near the end of her day. We always use Enterprise for our rentals. We started a long-term rental from an Enterprise location in northern Virginia, taking it for a month to Hilton Head, SC and back. On the way down the car developed a bad shimmy in the front end. When we got to Hilton Head, we tried to exchange the car through the Enterprise location at Hilton Head Airport. The people there were terrible, offered no assistance at all, and told us we would not be able to get a replacement for days or weeks at any Enterprise location in the area, including Savannah airport. They were discourteous, and even told me they didn't care that their office voicemail box was full and not accepting voicemails. In short, they got no stars. We drove up to Savannah Airport anyway since we had to drop some friends off. The Enterprise staff at Savannah Airport could not have been nicer, friendlier, and more helpful. Especially Lee in the return lane and Rachel on the desk. They immediately arranged for us to turn in the car with the bad front end and arranged a new rental for use in Hilton Head and for the return drive up north: a brand new 2023 Toyota Camry with only 250 miles on it. The entire transaction took less than 30 minutes. My advice: avoid the Enterprise rental location at Hilton Head Airport at all costs. Try Hertz or Budget if you fly in there. Fifth you fly into Savannah, definitely use Enterprise there. They are simply terrific. We have been using Enterprise both in the US and Europe for years. After my experience at the Hilton Head office I swore "never again." The Savannah airport crew brought me back into the fold. read more

I reserved a full size sedan at the SAV airport location. I reserved that size car because I know my size. But unfortunately when I got to the pickup, I was greeted by a polite young man full of energy. He pulled up my reservation and quickly said "hey we don't have no more full size cars, so we upgraded you to a suv". Sounds great, right? Nope. No one said it'll be a compact SUV. What a upgraded. I proceeded to garden city enterprise (having someone take time out of their day to help) and when I arrive to pick up a car they said they did not have any. Just got back from our trip to Savannah, GA where we rented a car from Enterprise at the airport. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We rented a "Luxury" car because it said it could accommodate 4-5 suitcases in the trunk. Nope. Just 2. That was a Volvo. Assistant offered us a Chevy Malibu, a downgrade for price, but we didn't care as long as it fit the suitcases. Still fit only 2 in the trunk, so we had to put carry-ons in the back seat. We actually liked the controls and dashboard better - not as fancy as the Volvo. Car had a lot of dents and minor damage, so she told us just to take photos. It was raining, and the car was wet all over, so we didn't know how that would work upon our return, but the return was a breeze. The guy said we were not charged for any damage, and that they considered it "normal wear and tear". After reading negative reviews about people waiting hours at the Savannah airport car rental places, we were pleasantly surprised at the ease of pick up and return. No wait on either end. Had a last minute get away planned to St Simons for a few days. Used an American Express certificate towards the fee. The on phone reservation was so easy and the agent was very polite. My flight was changed and I was coming in a few hours (5) later. I called and left a msg of the change. An agent called me back and said I did not have to call but assured me all was fine and wished me a safe trip to Savannah. Upon arrival the agent was so nice. He was friendly and professional. Used small talk to pass the time as he processed my car. The process was quick and painless and off to my car. Easy to find and easy to get out from the airport. The car was perfect for me and my trip. No need for anything bigger. The car was clean and pretty new. The return was easy with the agents directions and someone was on site when I returned and checked me out. And then off to the gate. So easy. We picked up our 2021 Mazda 3 in Roanoke, VA 11/2/23. We planned on going to Florida for a work conference I needed to attend. We left for Florida 11/3/23 and about 6 hours into our trip we noticed a bubble in our tire. I immediately called the Roanoke location and they advised us to go to the closest enterprise location which was at 452 Airways Ave Savannah, GA. When we got to the location one employee greeted us, understood our issue, and grabbed the manager Jacob Meneth. We explained our scenario to him and did not seem to car. He said all their cars were already rented out. Understandable, so I called the second closest enterprise, 1025 US-80 Ste A, Garden City, GA. I'm not sure who I spoke to but he was BEYOND HELPFUL. He explained that the entire city of Savannah was rented out but he'd see what he could do. He asked me to send him pictures of the tire so he could call and show the area manager. Not a problem! He explained this is a big safety issue and we should not be driving the vehicle. He called multiple enterprises to find us another vehicle so I did not have to. Conveniently enough, there somehow was a vehicle for us to exchange at the airport location. He also explained that there was a service lane at the airport location to fix the tire but we were never offered this! We drove BACK to the airport location and immediately had another vehicle. Do to this major inconvenience, I'll only be an hour late to my meeting... Jacob never apologized or showed any remorse for his poor customer service. See pictures below. Due to this poor service and risking customer safety (which the on-hold message claims to be amazing at, what a joke) we will look for other travel options. Considering the company I work for has a company code with Enterprise/National I expected better service or at least some remorse or apologies from Jacob Meneth considering he gave us the run around. read more

I corresponded with Enterprise 800 number to let them know our flight was going to be a little late. When we arrived at the airport the enterprise desk was closed. There was a whole group of people there to pick up their cars at enterprise and we could not get in touch with anyone. It was horrible!!! We all scrambled to go to Avis. Avis had one car left and it was a convertible for $900 for three days. The Avis agent told all of us that Enterprise does this all the time! We ended up having to take an Uber into Hilton head and did not have a car the whole time. It is a travesty that Enterprise did this to so many people that night. There were terrible fires in California where I'm from and my home was evacuated so I had to extend my stay. Not only did Marquishia extend my rental, but there was no additional charge for the extra day. She didn't have to do that and it restored some of my faith in humanity. Her compassion and kindness made me cry happy tears after being under the stress of evacuation orders for several days. I'll never rent from any other agency.
