At $198. round trip it is a bargain and definitely less wear and tear on my car and body. Now the trip is 445 miles and takes two hours. Why so long propeller plane flies below the clouds. I liked it about 100 persons onboard means less germs. Also since it is a small airline they are friendly and nice. Wow where do you find that anymore. It was our first but not our last.

There is one daily flight from/to Los Angeles on Delta, and the times worked a bit better than flying to Miami. Ended up working well as the flight to enjoy the week-long cruise from Miami on the Icon of the Seas. It's about a 5 hour in-air flight between the the two cities, so Delta uses one A321(N) with Miami/FLL flight attendants. I'm guessing it's primary a flight for cruisers, and we followed the standard path. My wife, her mom, and I were traveling from Los Angeles, meeting my brother (who was flying same day from Houston) in Miami. So the three of us planned to come one day early on the 08:20 - 16:17 LAX to FLL direct. The same plane is then used to go back to LAX (17:30 - 19:56), which is what we decided to take for our return on the last day/night (this did mean a 8+ hour wait at the airport, since the cruise ship rooms need to be vacated in the early morning). I ended up booking the 3 round-trip tickets about 4 months early, spending about 34,000 miles per each Classic Main roundtrip ticket (Basic would have been cheaper, but would have meant no chance for upgrade and no entry into the Sky Club). I check regularly to see if the price goes down, and this time it was worth the effort. Two months before the flight, the price went down about $50 each, so was able to redeposit about 5,000 miles each back into my account, all doable via the Delta website. The flight from LAX to FLL was uneventful, with automatic upgrade for the ladies to Comfort+. Free wifi worked well, and got my free Dots pretzels for being a Amex Delta Reserve cardholder. The flight back was not full, so ended up getting upgraded to First Class for my wife and her mom a couple days before the flight (what's nice is then you are able to choose a meal beforehand). My wife upgraded her seat (which I ended up using) from Main to Comfort+ for $49 the day before. I ended up having the row (3 seats) all to myself. The flight left almost 3 hours late, because of lightning storms in the area. There were people on the flight who missed or were about to miss their connection in LA. One person was trying to get to Sydney and would probably miss it (since even if they got there on time, their checked bags would probably not). Later learnt that international flights do not allow checked bags to be flown if the owner is not on that flight. The opposite is allowed however, with the passengers flying without their luggage (a special exception is made for that same luggage to be flown on a later flight to join their owner).

Now I have the Delta SkyMiles, American Express, which gets you a free checked bag for not only myself, but one other person flying with me. In the day and age of flight travel that's a great perk. Delta is one of the very few airlines that allows all passengers to take a 22" carry-on, and a personal item. Definitely makes traveling a little more comfortable. The flight from flight from Fort Lauderdale to Raleigh was delayed 3 hours. They did notify me via email and text way in advance. Communication from Delta was excellent. The gate agents were nice, they emailed all passengers $12 food vouchers for the delay. I lost my day in Raleigh and the baby behind me cried the whole 2 hours. Some things are out of your control and I'm thankful Apple makes noise cancelling headphones.

I had to revise my review after someone pointed out there is food here, but no joke- the kitchen prep area is larger than the dining room area. Do NOT waste a onetime pass on this location. Their app and website are chock full of annoying advertising to buy extra features that for the longest was basic to what is air travel. But especially in these times, when there's must-take business travel, you have to come through for your clients! After my usual airline canceled my puddle jumper (west coast of Florida) business trip at the end of the day, my company and I had to scramble and thus found Spirit. The terminal itself was fairly clean, and my low rating doesn't speak to the personnel. The gate agents, flight attendants and pilots were courteous and professional (I got there and back in one piece :) Heading there on an early morning flight, I was able to get essentially first class with a seat in the second row. Although my seat was really comfortable, the seat in front looked a little ragged with part of the "bones" of the seat showing. My return flight I had a mid cabin (though still window) seat on a mostly empty flight. These seats were firmer and slightly less comfortable. Oh and they didn't recline. The planes did seem a little noisier than the one I took on American last such trip. I did join the $9 Fare Club if for the understanding of getting what I pay for. Still, just 3 stars for unleashing the virus of a la carte flying :)

What I don't accept is a business model that appears designed to trap customers into accidental purchases and then stonewall them when they immediately try to fix an obvious mistake. On January 26, 2026, I went to Spirit's website to buy a seat and a checked bag. I believed I was purchasing a $69.95 Savers Club seat option. Instead, Spirit quietly charged me for: A seat ($47) A checked bag ($69) A Spirit Savers Club membership ($69.95) This was clearly an error, identified within minutes of purchase. What followed was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I immediately called Spirit: First call: 17 minutes and 39 seconds on hold, then disconnected. Second call: 18 more minutes, only to be told the agent couldn't help and transferred me again. When I finally reached a representative, I was told I was ineligible for a refund because I had supposedly "used" the Savers Club membership... on the same transaction in which it was mistakenly purchased. Let that sink in. I calmly proposed the most reasonable solution imaginable: Refund the seat, bag, and membership, remove them from my reservation, and I'll immediately repurchase the seat and bag at full price. Spirit refused. Repeatedly. Instead, they tried to push bonus miles and a small credit--completely useless to me, since my employer pays for my travel and does not reimburse memberships. I explained this clearly. More than once. It didn't matter. For over eight minutes, the agent refused to help while I remained polite and cooperative. At one point, I informed them I was recording the call. The behavior didn't improve. This wasn't about policy. This wasn't about fairness. This was about extracting $69.95 from a customer who caught a mistake immediately and tried to resolve it in good faith. Spirit Airlines has mastered the art of hiding behind "policy" to justify behavior that would never fly (pun intended) at a customer-centric company. The experience left me with the clear impression that confusion isn't a bug in their system -- it's a feature. If you value transparency, basic fairness, or customer service that treats you like a human being instead of a revenue opportunity, think very carefully before booking with Spirit Airlines. I certainly will.

Avelo's everyday low fares are cut because Avelo offers unbundled travel options that give customers the flexibility to pay for what they want that includes priority boarding, checked bags, carry-on overhead bags, and for bringing a pet in the cabin. Avelo Airlines is definitely an airline I would take again because of the convenience it provides and great prices. The only disadvantage would be that there are limited flights and schedules. Avelo Airlines does provide the customer flexibility to pay what you want but everything is basically à la carte. Your flight can cost 188.00 dollars round trip for example but if you want to travel with bags or a carry-on, the bag price is 60.00 for each trip. You are allowed a carry on bag that can fit under your chair free of charge. There is also a seat selection option and there is a an up-charge for that but the seats prices are between twenty to sixty dollars. If you don't mind where you want to sit than there is not an up-charge and you're seat is chosen for you. Furthermore, they have priority seating which I did pay for. I figured instead of the hassle of standing in line, I can be the first one on the plane and I wouldn't have to worry about where to put my carry-on overhead. The price for priority seating is thirty five dollars for each way, which I don't mind paying. I've heard mixed reviews about the airline but I decided to give a shot. My flight was supposed to leave at seven in the morning going to Fort Lauderdale but due to limited airplanes they provide and weather, my flight didn't depart until ten thirty. The flights were smooth, relaxing, and the flight attendants were very nice and pleasant. I would also suggest bringing a snack as they state on there website that snacks are not provided but they do offer bottled water.

JetBlue gates are in Terminals 3 and 4 at FLL, and there are plenty of food and drink options in both, or you can easily walk between the two terminals to find something that suits you while you wait to take off. I'll continue flying with them, since they offer a lot of direct flight options to locations I frequent, along with reliable service. Only 4 stars because of fares and seat pricing -- everything is extra these days!

I completely understand that weather can cause delays, and that is something passengers have to deal with. What I do NOT understand is the complete lack of communication and transparency from the JetBlue staff. My sister, along with many other passengers, repeatedly asked questions because no one seemed to know what was going on. Instead of providing clear and honest information, the crew members left passengers confused, frustrated, and constantly guessing about what was happening. Then, after all those delays, they were finally offered another flight, only to find out that there wasn't even a crew available to operate it! At that point, there was nothing we could do but book my son on a flight for the following day. Because my son was traveling as an Unaccompanied Minor, this situation was even more stressful. JetBlue had a responsibility to communicate clearly and handle this situation professionally, especially when dealing with a child traveling alone. My son and my sister left home around 7:00 AM and did not make it back home until approximately 6:00 PM. That is an entire day wasted because of poor communication, repeated delays, and what appeared to be a complete lack of organization. JetBlue needs to do better. Weather delays are understandable. Poor communication, lack of transparency, and offering a flight without having a crew available to operate it are NOT. And just because Spirit is no longer an option for some travelers does NOT give JetBlue the right to take advantage of customers, waste their time, or leave them sitting around confused with no clear answers. This experience was unacceptable, and I absolutely expect JetBlue to take responsibility for how this situation was handled.

I fly weekly for work and have the highest tier of AA frequent flyer and tho they might not compare with the best of the int'l airlines, they're the best, most consistent of the domestic airlines. I will say tho, the GA at the gate on my particular day was in a mood... he didn't use the Tensabarrier to block the regular lanes, so when he called group 1 and a bunch of us walked in the lane closest to the podium, the regular lane, he made an announcement telling us not to. I told him to block the appropriate lane, like he's supposed to. Now, this type of interaction might set off the typical, inexperienced traveler, but out of the last 50 flights, this is the first one where I had any issue with a GA who seemed to have a chip on their shoulder. All I'm saying - If you're a passenger, use common sense, don't exhibit your narcissistic behavior, and treat people with respect. Realize the folks working at the airport and for the airlines are doing the best with what they have.
