Recently booked a room with a view for our 50th anniversary, what a nightmare this place is. After paying a small fortune for the room, the manager refused to give us free breakfast, that all the other guest enjoyed. On the First night, I slipped in the shower/bath tub because these morons forgot to install grab bars on the wall inside the shower/tub unit. This is a major safety issue for someone 74 years old; we could not shower for the remaining nights during the stay. On the day of our anniversary, I was attacked in the lobby of this sick hotel, by one of their violent guests, directly in front of the hotel receptionist. When I requested that they call the police (RCMP), they refused and did nothing. In all my years as a professional safety engineer, I have never seen such a worn out, dangerous, and useless accommodation. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. BTW, there are several other significant hotels at the waterfront in North Vancouver, we will choose one of them next trip.

Aside from that, you're literally atop the Seabus terminal so you can get to downtown directly and quickly along with the pleasant ride that comes with it. You also have the market below, and though the shops IMO aren't much of a draw, it gives you pretty good food choices. Aside from the pluses above, I believe most or even all of the rooms have a view of the water - and if you're near the back you overlook downtown as well. The rooms themselves are nothing special and don't stand out at all, but they're serviceable. Contrary to what some reviews say, there is in fact a fitness room here, but it is small. It does have a small restaurant and I'd recommend looking into the packages which include breakfast and even 2-1 passes with local attractions as you'll save if you're travelling with at least another person. There's an argument given the prime location of this place that a really nice hotel could open up here and thrive. But as long as the Quay hotel sits here, don't expect much of a fancy stay - you do at least benefit from much better location, convenience and views than comparable 3 star hotels.

We stayed in room 780 on the west side and it had a separate king sized bed that had doors that could be closed for privacy and noise. Inside that room, there was a closet and television along with outlets on each side of the bed. I unplugged the phone because we had an infant and didn't want to be suddenly disturbed. Outside of the above-mentioned room, there is a hallway with its own closet, a restroom with a huge bathtub, a living room with a couch, television, Nespresso coffee machine, hot water machine, a desk, refeigerator, and another smaller loveseat. You can imagine how large the space is from this description, right? I didn't love that the restroom had an odd smell to it all the time, but hey, it's a restroom! Also, for a place with two of everything, it may have made sense to have the master bedroom have a smaller restroom with a standalone shower. I paid the extra $99 CAD for a 4 p.m. checkout but was practically rushed out by three staff members trying to eject me outside of my room by 3:50 p.m. ugh, I've got an infant, give us a moment! Free parking is available in a multi level parking garage for those willing to walk past what appeared to be the smoking lounges of the attached casino...ew. Valet is incredibly expensive. I just couldn't justify shelling out $21CAD to valet it each night. The walk was good for me anyway. All in all, this is highly recommended! Very responsive to emails and phone calls, too! Took care of our request for a baby crib without issue. At this price point, however, they better be darn good!

The real nightmare is the errant charges that continue to be added to our room account. They have added daily resort fees even after charging the the entire stay. On our departure day, the bell person came to our room, collected all our luggage and walked us to the pier and straight to the check in area. Yes, we did tip him! Our room was comfortable and cozy. Many local resturaunts to choose from, all within walking distance. I definitely recommend this hotel especially if your going on a cruise.

After getting off our cruise early…read morein the morning, we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel was able to check us in and provide a room at 9 AM, which made a huge difference after traveling. We have been traveling around the world for over 25 years, and this is the first time we have ever received a hotel room that early. The front desk staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The room was spacious, very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The housekeeping and maintenance staff also did an awesome job and were always courteous and professional. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful and added even more to the experience. The location of this hotel is outstanding. Everything is within walking distance -- plenty of restaurants, cafes, shopping, and small boutiques nearby. It was also very convenient that major bus routes and the hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus stop right at the hotel entrance. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay here again when visiting Vancouver.

Imagine the smell of a rug that hasn't been washed in 30 years and soaking-in nasty odors all day and all night. That is basically what the air conditioner smelled like. The "change filter" light was on, but that wasn't terribly helpful at midnight. We were hot and stuffy, but that was better than the gag-inducing smell of the air conditioner. We had a second room which was better, but we still couldn't run the A/C since the smell was the same, but fainter. If they service their air conditioners, this can be a decent place to stay.

If you will be using public transport however, be warned, the nearest train station is FAR, is about 8 min to 10 walk, and the terrain is not even. There are a few crosswalks and there are significant construction in the area. We were almost scratched by loose nails and sharp bushes. Not sure if safe if you have a stroller or mobility issues, as the cars can be aggressive. The nearest supermarket is Foodieland -- quite far, terrain is not even and again, cars were aggressive. We love Foodieland for the hot meals. Too bad it was quite a walk from the hotel if you just want a snack or milk. Front desk and staff were very nice. The shuttle driver did not say anything. Restaurant was lovely.
