Also great location to get to the cruise ships. Bad items - Handle is busted off at the sink (fake drawer!). Only one elevator working is a royal pain. Thermostats were not cooperative. We came to yvr 2 days prior to our cruise. From the moment we entered the front doors the entire staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was a wonderful surprise as it had a bedroom and living area. Great resturaunts within walking distance. Very close to hop on/off bus...and a free bus to the Capalauni Bridge. On our departure day, the bell person came to our room, collected all our luggage and walked us to the pier and straight to the check in area. Yes, we did tip him! Our room was comfortable and cozy. Many local resturaunts to choose from, all within walking distance. I definitely recommend this hotel especially if your going on a cruise. read more

This hotel is extremely clean and located in downtown Vancouver. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, we were upgraded to a suite. The room was very spacious and updated. We had a great night stay. The fitness center was exceptional, Gus that works at the fitness center desk was extremely helpful and provided a tour. The fitness center had a full gym with all the equipment needed and a 25m pool that was good for lap swimming, as well as other lanes. This hotel is located in downtown, 5 minute walk from where the cruise ships dock. The bldg itself may seem big but from what I understand the hotel portion is only occupied by a few floors. It's walking distance to shopping, restaurants and/or a food court. It's also a short walk to some fun scenic routes near Burrad Landing. That's the good. The ugly was the guy who checked us in asked if we wanted to take a room that was readily available since we were a little early. He said it had a partial view. Ok, it's one night why not take a partial view rather than the city view I was expecting. It ended up being NO VIEW! You get a view of a wall when you open your curtains. BEWARE OF ROOM 910. I went back down to ask for a a different room. The only assistance I received was them trying to sell me an upgrade. After some back and forth, I was told to check back at 3:30 to see what was available. When I checked back, I was told everyone had checked in and they don't have any available rooms. The person I spoke to said the guy who checked us in claims he told us it was a room with no view. Not only did he screw us, he lied about his interaction with us. Yet again as we were ending our conversations, they tried to sell me an upgrade. Unapologetic customer service. Also, the lighting in the room is poor. If you need good lighting to dry your hair or put your make up on, don't take that room. I can't speak for the lighting in the other rooms but this one was a bad one. Love this hotel! Stayed here for work for a few nights. I almost passed the hotel, I couldn't find it on the street. Upon coming in, the lobby is nice and luxurious looking. My suite was spacious, artfully decorated, clean and had a great view of the city! My favorite thing about the hotel is the big swimming pool which is 25 yards, great for lap swimming, as well as the sauna. There's also a great sauna and steam room. Location is in Coal Harbor, near the convention center. The hotel amenities include your basic free internet, fridge, coffee and tea selection, and an umbrella in the closet. Location, location, location. That's the charm to this place - it's so damn easily located to everything one would need access to that I can't help but love this place. The room was perfectly fine, but admittedly there were a few things that were less impressive with the facility amenities... -The pool and hot tub are run by the Terminal City Club (a members only fancy pants society), meaning you are at the mercy of their operating hours so keep that in mind during the holidays (for example: the pool was closed at 4pm on New Years Eve and not open New Years Day). -The hot tub and pool areas have great views, however the hot tub was surprisingly not hot (more of a "warm tub" at most) and the pool was surprisingly cold, making it uncomfortable to even swim laps in. -There are saunas and steam rooms, but attached to the change rooms so if you actually want to have relax with your significant other, it ain't happening. -The "continental breakfast" is hurting. I have low expectations but this was one of the most useless "breakfasts" I've encountered. Perfectly fine if you're content with 1 type of bread with a very slow toaster causing continual line ups, a croissant or other dry pastry, hard boiled eggs, and cereal with milk.... Hell even throwing in a bagel option as well as your lame brown bread slices and I wouldn't even be complaining... But by the last day we just decided not to bother as it wasn't worth going down for it. But did I mention the location? It's pretty damn great. Depending on if you can find a decent price for staying here, I'd recommend it. read more

I'm quite disappointed in our stay here. The Auberge Vancouver turns out to just be a few floors rented out in the Terminal City Club. Although it is billed as a luxury hotel, as other Auberges are, this is not in good shape. The light fixture in the bathroom is a hole in the ceiling and falling off. The toilet paper holder is loose and angled down. The television service they use is a residential cable box in which most channels are not available. The bed is one of the most uncomfortable I've had in quite some time. In most power outlets, only one of 2 plugs work, so to plug in a phone charger, you have to unplug a light. This is not what I would expect for a $300+ night room, this is what I would expect for $70. I'm quite disappointed and definitely would not recommend staying here. read more

This isn't really a hotel . . . there are no common areas that belong to the hotel, it's just several floors inside a high-rise building that is used for other things. Having said that, it was perfectly comfortable for me as a business traveler. The room was nice, the climate control worked well, the room had a very functional Keurig, a separate bar area, a fridge and a microwave. It's located just steps away from the Vancouver convention center and Canada Place, quite near the public transport. The best part about the place is you get access to the extraordinarily nice health club next door. It has a 5-lane, 25m pool that is amazing, and the most posh locker room I have ever seen. The only problem with the club is the hours are not what I am used to as an American. 8am to 8pm on the weekend are not long hours when the conference I need to be at starts at 745am on a Saturday! read more

First off this is more of an office building that they decided to convert few floors to a hotel. Bay view should say view of 3 buildings with gap between them of the water. The rooms decor is nice enough but halls are super narrow so you hear everything. BIGGEST ISSUE is the parking, first drove around the block twice to locate entrance, then went down first public parking entrance guy never heard of the hotel!!! left went 2nd public parking underground..NOPE not it. Finally found a 3rd one with tiny hotel sign. You then have to haul your luggage down a cement hallways to the elevator. Self Parking was ridiculous $48 overnight. We checked in and left to go for dinner, came back at 8:30 and lo and behold the parking gate is now down, can't get in!!!! Drove around 3 times trying to figure out how to get in, finally stopped on street which you can't do and rushed in to see whats up. Just security at the desk (this is an office building after all) he said oh you have to call us to open gate!!!! REALLY!!! be nice to mentioned this at check in. I am going with 3.5 stars. This is a great location: in the heart of downtown, close to the water, walking distance from most attractions. My primary motivation for staying at Auberge Vancouver was its proximity to the Terminal City Club where I was attending an event. I had a pretty good stay at the hotel. My room had great views of the ocean and the mountains, was clean and had ample space and there was a free Bible courtesy the Gideons! I've always wanted to snag one of those and this time too I forgot! However, the bathroom had a very funky sweaty smell as did the room where breakfast (very ample) was served. Speaking of bathrooms, the shower appliance has terrible affordance. One has to tug on the rim of the bathtub tap and pull it down to turn the shower on! When one is late and in a hurry this complicates things unnecessarily. I think this hotel is a mix use property, which explains the lack of room service. You have to call reception directly each time you want something, from housekeeping for instance. There is no concierge. However, the guys at check-in were very good with directions and recommendations. It is quite easy to miss the building amidst the sea of glass and chrome. As imposing as the lobby is, there is a very nondescript sign outside that indicates the location of the hotel. Would I stay here again? I am not so sure. To get my enthusiastic recommendation Auberge Vancouver needs to do the little things a bit better, given the pretty good chunk of change that it commands and the competitive market it is in. I have to start by saying that the Auberge is in a great location. You are pretty much in walking distance from most of the attractions and downtown. That being said, the views and location are the only reason I'm giving this hotel two stars! My husband and I have traveled to Vancouver on few occasions and stayed at a real luxury, high end hotel, in the heart of downtown. This time however, we were traveling with my mom so we decided to stay somewhere closer to the harbor. Since we were booking two rooms, I took price into consideration. I had checked various sites for reviews, most of them gave the Auberge high praises. So I figured we made a wise choice. Upon our arrival, we followed our vehicle navigation system and unfortunately it took us to the front of the hotel and not the parking. It was a little confusing, as the sign was super small. But we figured parking was in the back and after carefully reading all the signs, we found the underground garage.The underground garage was a bit awkward. We weren't too sure where to go, but again followed the signs. Going through the garage to the hotel was spooky. Plus we had to lug all our luggage ourselves. Once we stepped into the hotel, we weren't sure if we were in the right place. But we were greeted by the friendly staff who confirmed we were at the Auberge. They checked us in, but we weren't offered help with our luggage or shown the way. Also, the hotel had no concierge. Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready, but my mother's was, so one of the staff members informed us that we could go up to my mom's room and wait for our room to be cleaned and they would call us when the room was ready and bring the key to us. Once you step out of the elevators and into the hotel itself, you definitely notice that the hotel itself is a bit run down. My mother's room was a deluxe room with a city view. Which basically meant she had the view of someone's roof. The room was very dingy. We were there about 10 minutes when they called to tell us our room was ready. My husband and I had the executive suite with the harbor view, so I was expecting something grand. Our room was spacious, but again the room looked run down. I also couldn't get past the weird smell. I turned on the a/c, which I was grateful for, hoping it would take the smell away. I stepped into the restroom and was very disappointed. It was tiny. And it had a very smelly shower curtain. I then went into the "bedroom" area, and the bed linens smelled terrible. I got out my body spray and doused them to mask the smell. I was not impressed, but the view was amazing. It was nice to have a sink, a mini fridge and a microwave. Unfortunately a few minutes later, a terrible burnt smell was coming in the room. I thought perhaps it was the a/c, however, it turned out someone in the next room burnt a bag of popcorn. We had to leave the room because the smell was so bad. And hoped that when we returned later on that evening, the smell would dissipate (it did!). As I got ready for bed that night, I could not bring myself to walk on the carpet, barefoot. It was pretty dirty. The bedding still smelled, so I sprayed more body spray. However, I ended up wrapping the pillow in a t-shirt and wishing I had brought a blanket with me. I took a shower the next day and was pretty grossed out by the smell of the stinky shower curtain. The bathroom was pretty much just wiped down and not actually cleaned. And I don't even want to talk about the tub floor. I almost showered with my flip flops on. And I had to keep turning off the water and waiting because the tub kept clogging up. Not very convenient. The hairdryer worked, but only for about 2 minutes. All I know is that I took the quickest shower of my life and got dressed in record time, just to not have to stay in that bathroom any longer than necessary. Needless to say, I was very happy that we were only staying two days. But I was pretty perturbed that I had paid a pretty penny for something totally not worth it. I definitely will not be staying here again. If you are used to real luxury, do not be fooled by the Auberge. The views and location are great, the free wi-fi a plus, but the quality of the hotel, not so much. You're basically paying top dollar for a room that is no better than a cheapy motel near the airport. read more

We stayed here for just one night and we really enjoyed it. The location is great. It's close to everything. The hotel is sharing the building with offices which I personally liked, cuz I felt like I was going to an apartment not a hotel room. Our room was small, but it was clean, modern, and had everything we needed. We even got a chance to enjoy their gym and sauna, and swimming pool. Was not impressed, and have to say I am a bit of a hotel snob, I do prefer to stay in 4.5 stars or higher so not sure if this was because we got a coupon on line for this hotel but we DO NOT recommend it especially if you have children. 1) no daily housekeeping if you stay under 5 days; and it had not been cleaned properly for several seeing all the dust bunnies come out when walking pass the beds! 2) no swimming / due to covid; but public pools are open! 3) no movie channels just basic tv channels ( we had 2 channels) called front desk and they said that is all they had. 4) no vending machines to get drinks; store 4 blocks away 5) city parking lot $20 cheaper which is in the same parkade as the hotel parking 6) bedding had holes in the blankets 7) with having to do take out food or delivery, you had to keep requesting more garbage bags and call down for pick up as there is no daily cleaning of the rooms. 8) seagulls were non stop even through the night!! 9) View was of other office buildings so ask for very top floors. City view suite was excellent. King sized bed with a pull out sofa that our kids used. Room was serviced daily. Breakfast was included. Fitness center and pool were the highlight. Centrally located to the heart of downtown Vancouver. Front desk was quick to fix any issues. Parking is paid for at the hotel however it is pricey. As with all hotels taxes are high. Recently stayed here with my wife. We had a suite with a king bed, and the timing could not have been better. We had a harbor view on the 9th floor, and on our last night, we were able to see the Canada Day fireworks in the harbor from our room. The view of downtown from our room, in fact, was wonderful. The staff was courteous, and prompt to respond to any issues (there weren't any issues, really, except for the spotty wi-fi).
