Was in the mood for some brisket and ribs, saw the online menu photos, and decided to give it a shot. Extremely disappointing when I arrived and saw the new menu which did not have either of these. Ordered the chicken, and it was average at best along with some baked beans with minimal flavor. Barbecue sauce did not seem to be homemade, and lacked any distinguishing features. Staff was friendly and courteous, end it appeared. They were as empathetic to the fact that they did not have what I was in the mood for.

R wanted to find out how good bbq in Arkansas was while we were on our road trip from ATL to Los Angeles about 5 weeks ago. Through Yelp he found Delta Q, which had good reviews. As I drove through small town Forrest City, I already made up my mind that I was going to order a half rack of ribs. We arrived, and it was easy finding a parking space, since the parking lot was bigger than was necessary for Delta Q. We walked into the restaurant, and the smell of smoked meats was so thick in the air that I knew everyone walking out of the restaurant smells like they walked through a meat smoker. The employee working the counter welcomed us and asked if we were there to eat in or take out. After she found out we were going to dine in, the employee told us that we could sit anywhere, so we sat at one of the cushioned booths. This place looks like it's been here for a long minute. The seat cushions are torn up, and the whole place looks like it could use a good cleaning. I felt sorry for our server, because she was handling multiple tables inside the restaurant, the incoming phone calls, take out orders and the drive thru window. Just listening to her communication with the kitchen staff, who I couldn't see, it was no surprise that she had to yell to the kitchen staff just to get their attention to correct orders that they messed up. There's a bar area, but it wasn't being used while we were there. Our server brought us our food served on small square baking trays. My half rack of ribs looked meaty. I also ordered mac and cheese and green beans. R ordered pulled pork, hush puppies and cole slaw. The cole slaw here is more mayo (vs vinegar) based, and tasted good. I didn't try the hush puppies. The mac and cheese were average, and the green beans were salty. Initially, I thought the ribs were very good. They were almost fall-off-the-bone tender and the flavor of the ribs were good as-is, with the right amount of seasoning. I put some of the sweet (as opposed to the vinegary) bbq sauce, and sauce was perfect and helped enhance the flavor of the ribs. Unfortunately, there was just too much fat on the ribs, and, after I ate half the ribs, I had to stop eating them because my stomach was being affected by the fat I had already eaten. Overall, the food was average to good. The service was good, taking into consideration that there was only one employee running the front. The place, though, needs to be cleaned and maintained better. Our shoes were sticking to the floor, our arms were sticking to the table, and the restroom was dirty, and used paper towels were piled high on top of the overflowing trashcan.

Driving back to Phoenix Arizona from Nashville Tennessee we found the spot just off the freeway in Forest city. What a perfect location for a real barbecue out of the city experience. Walking in to Delta Q the smell was so good like a fresh campfire wood like smell. We were greeted by a very kind and pleasant lady who sat us down offered us something to drink and explained the menu to us. I had The four meat combo and I have to say it was the best barbecue I have ever had and I have had a lot of BBQ in the Midwest and in the East Coast. The smoked pulled chicken was so good moist with the right amount of smokiness and sauce on it The pulled pork is probably the best pulled pork I have ever had The brisket OMG so moist and tender slid right down your throat The ribs when you don't need to use your hands and the meat just falls off the bone with the fork you know you're getting the best of the best The potato salad was made in-house and the most freshest potato salad ever I hope one day I can just make a trip out here just to eat barbecue it's well worth it to anyone traveling on interstate 40 who wants a really good meal with great friendly service this is definitely the spot

Local bbq, one location only. The waitress said they smoke their own meats so all is right with the world. The good: Wow, the ribs are good, and they need no sauce. That was RRR's dinner and he actually didn't care for the sauce. 'Too vinegary', but that may just be the local fave. My pulled chicken was moist even without sauce (I'm trying to found Weight Watchers friendly dishes) and my green beans had a wonderful flavor, at least for me. Bacon and garlic, so good (and no, not a great WW choice. Our server, a sweet young lady, did a fine job and got everything right. Her family was in a booth behind us, cutest baby ever! The place was clean and welcoming with multiple TVs and rock music playing. Now the bad: Those awesome green beans? Waaaaay too salty and I like salt. I hope it was just an off night. My salad was what you might expect, small and only iceberg lettuce. Since I asked for no bacon or cheese the only other addition were a few sad tomato pieces, no flavor. And last, even though we didn't want them, there were no pork rinds served or offered as it appears other Yelpers have enjoyed. We didn't ask but perhaps our server decided we wouldn't want them when I said I was trying to stay on my Weight Watchers program. Or maybe they don't offer anymore. So, with those few caveats, we would definitely try this again and I do recommend.

Paid 18.00 for a large sandwich which is 2 of these.. both looked likes this!! guess they decided to make a regular sandwich and stretched the amount meat used.. guess you can say this was the most expensive bread I have ever bought

Just passing through on our way back home from Dallas. Looked to Yelp as we always do and found this little place in the Arkansas Delta. We stayed simple with a bbq pulled pork plate w/ fries, potato salad, and baked beans. All was great! Pleasantly surprised with this find on our way through.

Delta Q was bookmarked on Yelp for our trip to San Antonio because of the good reviews on Yelp. It fit our schedule on the way back. It is located about a mile off the freeway but it was easy to find and we were hungry. When we arrived, it was busy but not crowded and we were greeted and seated immediately by our server, Falon, who started us off with a bucket of Crispy Pork Rinds before taking our drink order. Then, after looking over the menu for a few minutes, we were ready to place our order. We decided to split a Fried Pickles appetizer and my wife ordered the Pulled Chicken Salad while I decided to try the Three Meat Sampler with Brisket, a Three-Bone Pork Rib, and Pulled Pork. Mine came with a choice of two sides and a roll. I chose Potato Salad and Hush Puppies. Everything was delicious and my wife particularly liked the Pulled Chicken Salad. I enjoyed my meal and I give special mention for the Hush Puppies. These were not dense and over cooked like so many are. The outside was crisp but the inside was soft like cake. This was definitely well worth the stop. Falon kept our drinks full and checked on us just the right amount and made us feel welcome. She even offered to give us our drinks to go. You should definitely check it out!

Friendly service! Called in order and picked up through drive through window which was handy during these Crazy COVID times. Back to hotel for some great fall off the bone ribs; dry version piping hot. Also had side salad that was loaded with cheese bacon bits and tomatoes; then a side of green beans. So here is what I love about traveling and trying different places; the green beans were not what I was a custom to; yet they were very tasty The first bite of the green beans was... ok this is different. I didn't know at first then the flavors all flourished and I thought it was very good. The beans were a larger more mature pod type green bean and they come prepared in a slight gravy and seasoned very well. Possibly an onion bacon type gravy. I would have them again. Definitely could have done with half rack very filling.

If there's a long line for this place, don't be surprised. That's just the "Delta Queue." In fact it was pretty quiet when I came here, which is a crime, because the food is so... damn... good. What to get: Pulled Pork and Pork Cracklings What else: Don't ask for Rice Krispies, because here, they go Snap, Crackling and Pop. If it gets really hot in here, they change their name to Swelter Q. This is a really out-of-the-way BBQ spot a little ways off the interstate in Arkansas, a few miles west of Memphis city limits. It is not a place that is on most people's radar, and that's a shame, because it should be. Some of the best pulled pork you'll find anywhere. Juicy and tasty and delicious. If the Beatles eat here, it becomes Helter Skelter Q. The cracklings are probably the best I've ever had. They are only sold in huge bags, and I had no intention of buying any, but the extremely friendly cashier talked me into it, and she was absolutely right. They may give you a heart attack, but they will be worth it. If it gets so hot that the pulled pork starts turning to liquid, it becomes Melta Q. You must stop at Delta when you're heading into, or out of, Memphis. Also check out One And Only BBQ and Tops BBQ in the city. And since it isn't as well known as the Heavyweights and Medium Weights, that's probably why it's sometimes known as Welter Q.

Is there anything worse than disappointing bbq? Looks to be a pretty new place, I found it online as I'm on a road trip. Very clean inside, gear smokey smells coming from the kitchen. Courteous staff that greeted me as soon as I walked in. I was able to get my order in quickly (typical Yankee always in a rush). As I was waiting the manager, I'm assuming, came out in a fluster assigning tables, coming across as very rude and disrespectful to the young women wait staff. Uh oh, never a good sign. Food comes out and my shoulders slump. Small portion of the main and bigger sides and a sorry looking bread roll thing. The chicken was a bit under (pink leg meat), I ordered it wet and the sauce tasted of vinegar and not much else. Potato salad was pretty good with a nice tang, served chilled. The beans, looked smelled and tasted like canned beans (overcooked and sweet) worth some pulled pork added. The bread, cold hard and nearly tasteless. I was in and out quickly. Wouldn't come back if I was in the area again. read more

Was coming from 29 palms to Atlanta, saw their sign on 40 and was so tired of fast food thought I'd try it. It is a little off the highway but so worth it. The restaurant was clean and friendly welcome feel to it. They start off with pig skins with their signature seasoning. My husband and I had pork sandwiches and sweet potato fries. Fries were so Krispy The pork sandwich was moist and smokey with just the right amount of sauce ,the slaw was great on it. Prices are very reasonable and of course we had to buy a bag of rinds. Sweet tea was perfect. We got out of there for 20.00. Definitely recommend. read more

We Yelped this place on a road trip and pulled through town. This area of town looks a little shady, but I've always that the best food comes from the scarier looking places, particulary in terms of BBQ. I may be spoiled as a Texan, but the ribs I received were nothing to get excited about. I like Lisa M.'s review there--it was "it'll do" BBQ, and the sides and the sauce were far better than the meat was. Delta Q earns its fourth star for having good sides, friendly service, and a homey atmosphere, but I'd avoid their famous ribs and go somewhere else if you're looking for top-flight meat. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is clean and has some really cool decorations. The staff was very nice and the food was great and came out fast! Perfect quick stop off of I-40. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the 3 meat platter and everything was delicious! Don't even think about walking in there without trying the fried okra! read more

We came here with my entire family, 7 of us. We had no wait and the service was great. But the best part was the food. I had the sample plate, with brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. All were very good. Had the ribs with a dry rub... Have to say that this place has the best BBQ that I have ever tasted.. and believe me.. I love me some BBQ... I also had the opportunity to taste each of the BBQ sauces that they had which were mild, hot and lava hot... OMG!!! This place has perfected it.. The lava was perty darn hot, but very tasty but not to the point that I couldn't enjoy my food... The owner along with his staff are great and very freindly people and made my family and I feel very welcome. We can't wait to visit the place again. On a road trip from St. Louis to Texas, we stopped here for dinner. I had the BBQ chicken nachos and my mom ate the half chicken plate. I cannot say enough great things about the food and staff. The food was great. Pork and chicken seem to be their specialities...I do not remember seeing beef except burgers. The parking lot was full, and I know why. It was a crowd mixed with locals and travelers. It is a mile off I-40. Don't let that stop you from trying this place out. I forgot to tell you they bring you pork skins to snack on as you wait for your food. They were fresh and not greasy...a little spice, but it was yummy! And I usually am not a pork skins fan. Very cute decorations. Very clean restrooms. Reasonably priced, and I felt they were glad we stopped by for a bite. I wish they were closer to my home, so I could try all the other things I thought looked great on the menu...BBQ chicken tacos sound amazing as did many of the other items. read more

Super friendly service and great BBQ! Stopped in here on the way to Little Rock from Memphis and wasn't disappointed. The winner was the BBQ eggrolls. Stuffed with delicious BBQ meat and fried to perfection. The accompanying sauce was delicious and I ended up pouring it on a lot of the other food I got. I had the cactus chili and it was very tasty. The portion was very large and I greatly enjoyed the flavor. Other people at the table got the pork, brisket, and turkey sandwiches. Each meat was very tasty and cooked just right. Service was super friendly!!! The lady who served us was so super nice and I'd love it if she could serve me in every restaurant I went to!! Will defo stop in here again if I'm in the area. read more

First time ever having "southern" bbq and I have to say, it wasn't bad. I'm not sure how Delta Q stacks up against other bbq joints but I'm impressed. The first item we received was the pig skins, served room temp, and they were pretty good. I dabbed hot sauce on them because I like my food spicy. Me and my cousin shared the sampler (small) with brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken and all were tender and flavorful. The bbq sauce is tooo die for! Soo good! Mac and cheese, however, was a little lackluster. Kraft produces a better product. And we were left to deal with our food without a knife, which was kind of confusing. Our waitress didn't come to check up on is at all during our stay, so we couldn't ask for a knife. Overall, I think I'd come again if I ever found myself in Forrest City, AR again but it's not really worth a trek. read more

Attention I-40 Travelers - you don't want to pass by Exit 241 or you will miss out on the fabulous BBQ at the Delta Q in Forrest City, Arkansas. This quaint city has an area of 16.3 miles and directly off N. Washington Street is some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten! We've been traveling for days on our way back to the east coast and if it wasn't for needing to stop after our 8-hour drive today we would have missed out on this place! I had the pulled BBQ Pork Sandwich with Fried Okra and it was absolutely wonderful! Everything was hot and just delicious! The employee who waited on us had such a delightful personality and friendly demeanor. So if you want a truly great meal and some intense hospitality, you'll want to save your appetite for Delta Q BBQ in Forrest City, AR. (And by the way they have a drive thru) I'm a very visual person - so the only reason I don't have any photos to share is because this girl was hot, tired and hungry! Enjoy! read more

Food and service were fair. I have eaten a great deal of pulled pork in my day from Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Florida, Mississippi, and more. This was not different from mainstream versions. The slaw was flavorless. The decor was the best part of the meal. Overall, it was okay, but I was expecting better. read more

Greatttttttttttttt and outstanding!!! They have great customer service!! I ate inside, the waitress was very nice and concerned. I had the rib dinner, the food came out hot and steamy. They also have some great banana pudding. I found this place passing though. It's definitely worth the stop!! By the way the food put me to sleep. I hope to travel by again soon. read more

What a GREAT place to eat. We got the 3 meat sampler with pulled pork, brisket, and fall off the bone ribs. We ordered the green beans and okra. The green beans were cooked til soft and spiced perfectly. The okra was crispy on the outside and yummy on the inside. Be sure to order dessert. We got the bread pudding. It was hot and flavored just right. Some of the best I ever had. The service was helpful and recommended things she thought we would enjoy. There was a very short wait for our order. The restaurant was out of brisket when we visited. Also, they were out of pork cracklin'. The green beans are indeed very good, although they were too salty; they're cooked with a lot of onions and reminded me of French onion soup. The pulled pork and chicken were a little dry, but the ribs were good. Based on this, I'd give Delta Q 3 out of 5 stars. However, I'm dropping a star because we ended up getting another customer's order. We were rushed for time and didn't check the order before leaving the restaurant, and we were 30 minutes away before opening the boxes. read more

Small BBQ spot with very good food. We got the bbq chicken sandwich, pulled chicken plate, and and a side of brisket. The chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The brisket shredded easily, had little fat, and was full of flavor. The baked beans were smoky and sweet, and had some amazing shredded meat with it. The rolls were small, but absolutely amazing. They had just enough sweetness to possibly consider them as dessert. They came out piping hot. The hush puppies and fries lacked a little bit in comparison to the rest of the food. Also, they offer Coke and Pepsi. All in all, a very good restaurant with good food, good service, and nice people. read more

Traveling from Houston to IL, we stopped here for dinner and we were treated to great food and service. The waitress was very friendly and quick to take the orders. Food was on the table quickly as well. My husband had the brisket plate with slaw, baked beans, and a nice roll. I had the pulled pork plate with sweet potato fries, baked beans, and a nice roll. Both plates were under $10 and it was plenty food. If you are a beer drinker, they have a great selection of bottled beers including some from Memphis. The Delta Q was clean and nicely decorated with a BBQ theme. It's not a big place and about 1 mile from the highway. We will stop again. read more

Great bbq. I got the regular pulled pork sandwich with coke slaw, spicy, and it was A+++. I've also had the bbq egg rolls which are also great. Nice atmosphere and clean. Once I called to place a to go order and we got cut off, and the young lady who answered didn't call me right back but I think the owner did, and I was glad because I was driving and wasn't in a position to call back. read more

We stopped in around 9:00 p.m. on July 20 after long day of travel. Being close to Memphis we were hopeful for some good BBQ. Reviews looked somewhat promising. People were filtering in and out the entire time we were there so I don't think our issues were due to the late hour. Ordered the brisket plate, pork bbq, plate and a burger. Sides were Mac and cheese, green beans, coleslaw, okra. Pork bbq tasted boiled--certainly not slow cooked over coals, Mac and cheese, green beans and okra were all cold. Coleslaw was warm. Hamburger was mediocre. Brisket was ok but, again, did not taste slow cooked! Okra had no flavor at all. Would definitely not recommend nor will we go back. I think a novice home cook could have done a better job. That said, the staff were all very pleasant. read more

THESE RIBS ARE AMAZING!!!! Ok I'm a California girl but I've been to Fat Matts in Atlanta, had the Ribs in S Carolina, had Texas bbq, but these dry rubbed ribs blew me away! Seriously, they were fantastic! I ate every last morsel! I managed to squeeze room for the coleslaw, but had to pass on the fries and roll. No room! Ok I ate a FEW fries. This place is a must stop! Neighborhood a bit ruff but SO worth it! read more

We were driving through and were looking for a place to eat. Saw the reviews and told hubby let's check this place out. It's a little off the highway but worth it. We got the sampler platter which gives you the opportunity to try a little of everything. The portions were small but was still enough for two people. We got the Mac-and-cheese and baked beans....really good and the biscuits that come with them O-M-G. I don't know what they make those things with but they were so good. They also give you complimentary pork rinds. Those were good too. The sweet tea another plus. Prices were really cheap considering bbq is pretty pricey. Stop here you won't have no regrets. read more

This place was great! The pork rinds were fresh and crunchy. The Mac n cheese was creamy. And the fried fish and burger were wonderful as well. Would definitely recommend stopping here. read more

I don't usually post reviews but we were traveling through and wanted Bbq. Stopping here was a bad mistake. Due to covid they added $2 to each beef item which wasn't a problem. We paid $10 for a brisket sandwich that my husband said was good. I ordered the sampler meat platter that said $10.99 ($12.99) with a side of fried okra and sweet potato fries. I got a baked potato made at least 72 days ago and no sweet potato fries. The girl that took our order was on her cell phone with a friend the whole time and was saying how she was tired and wanted to go home and locked the doors at 7:40 after we walked out even though the hours said open till 10 pm. The phone was ringing off the hook and people in the drive through one after another. Very busy. The smoked chicken and brisket was so dry even the bbq sauce didn't help. Our $20 turned into $32 somehow and the food and service was absolutely horrible. read more

My husband and I enjoyed our supper here recently. The waitress was friendly and service was quick. The barbecue plate with pulled pork, slaw and beans was delicious. It was as good or better than well known barbecue restaurants in nearby Memphis. Also the pork rinds which were served as free appetizer were very good. A nice change. It was so nice to find such a gem in small town Arkansas. read more

Excellent little BBQ, bar, and more spot right down the road from Memphis on I-40 in Forrest City Arkansas. Pulled pork, Hushpuppies, and Mac & Cheese were all very good and less than $10. Free fresh porkskins as an appetizer as well. Overall highly recommended if you're ever westbound on I-40. read more
