The description for the pool was that it was heated and it definitely was not - so cold as not to be enjoyable. A few days later, the total amount due was deducted from our account. We had big, exciting plans for attending an exciting New Year's Eve party. Since we live in NH, we made the reservation so that we would not be driving late at night on a holiday. Well, we NEVER were able to make it to the party. Just as we were leaving NH, we were informed that our reservations of over a month ago were CANCELLED! We were told it was a "glitch" in the system. Not even a phone call, an email! When the owner told us it was only a seasonal motel, I said then why the hell did you accept my reservation and take my money, in November, when you obviously were not going to honor it! (And, when I made the reservation, the website did NOT say it was seasonal. Now it does.) How do you justify that!! We were, and still are, crushed. There were no rooms, anywhere close, that we could afford. He kept saying "sorry for the inconvenience." Seriously? Our plans, so carefully made, that we were so excited about, were ruined by your supposed "glitch!" And, you call it an "inconvenience!" Then we were offered a 10% discount of a future stay. Are you kidding me. For all the emotional distress this caused us, not even a stupid free night, only 10%. Totally disgusted. Never, ever again. Pathetic.

The parking lot was a bit weird, with the main spaces on a rather steep sideways slop and an additional area in the back. We came here because it was on our timeshare. The shower pressure was excellent and it was plenty hot which was a nice surprise. The bathroom had a hair drying holder on the wall that was empty and there was a hairdryer under the bathroom sink. Our room had two queen size beds in it, we only needed one. They were not comfortable, but the linens were very good. All the windows had blinds on them, and people could look when they walked by which we really didn't mind as we kept them closed because it's winter. Checking in was great. We had to go to their other location in order to check in, and the young woman who helped us was very pleasant and accommodating. She explained exactly what to do to have automatic check out also which was nice. The location is really ideal. It's very close to the marginal way, which is a wonderful walkway, and easy to walk to downtown, which is a nice plus. We had a bit of a storm as well here and our Internet service was spotty at best during that time. Although there's a small kitchenette, it really wasn't functional for us. We relied on only the microwave. They don't even have a drawer to store the silverware. It's merely in a holder underneath the microwave on the cart. There's no counter space at all, and the heating system is awful. The bedroom and bathroom each have their own thermostat which worked, and the living area had a wall unit, which was so loud that we found it not usable. Overall I can't recommend this place at all. Unless you want a time warp back to the 1960s.

The hotel is in a GREAT location in Ogunquit so you can't go wrong there. Room was clean and provided nice amenities in the room including a coffee maker, mini fridge, and a little kitchenette cooktop. The bad: The hotel itself is in desperate need of an update/remodel. They don't even have curtains on the windows and the decor/furnishings are straight out of the 1980's. There was a security light right outside our bedroom window that on all night and was unable to be shut off. The lack of curtains made the bedroom bright like the daytime and made it hard to sleep. I mentioned this to Raymond the next morning and they took the bulb out of the light which was helpful. The VERY bad: Seacastles was responsible for having my credit card information stolen and subsequently I had about a $1k of fraudulent charges on my credit card because of this. My credit card company refunded me the money so alls good there. But still...I probably should have gotten a free night or something for that. Overall a mixed bag. I'd stay there again but I might check out other options first.

There was a humid, musty feeling in the room. AC is out of date. There was also a load of dirt all over the counter from the AC unit. When I awakened the next morning, I found all my food in the fridge completely frozen. Management or whoever was there decided the best thing to do was to blame the guests (stop placing blame on others). It is YOUR reaponsibilty to make sure everything in the room is set for the next guest. Went to get ice, it was full of dirt and debris.

We were heading up to northern ME for a family gathering and used Ogunquit as an overnight stop over. Therefore, we weren't looking for anything fancy... just reasonable and clean. This place was reasonably clean. But extremely in need of a paint job and general maintenance. The door to the room looked as if a 10 year old painted it in 1970! Not worth listing the many things we chuckled about in the room... wall paint splashed on the ceiling, a chunk out of the vanity counter..... and so on. We wanted cut rate... that's what we got! Let's say, I would not have selected this place for a vacation stay!

When we got back that evening the tv wasn't working so I called the office. The same woman came by my room and she discovered that the problem was not only my room, but the hotel. Instead of waiting for the cable company to come out on Sunday the woman, Uzma, worked with the tech on the phone and had the problem fixed within 30 minutes! She was great! I was impressed. Great place to stay. I would definitely recommend it. I will definitely return at my next trip to Maine.
