The winter rental we are staying in is simple. It has a living room and two bedrooms. In the summer it sleep up to six people if you use the pull out couch. I know they also has a first floor one bedroom unit with a king size bed, a very small efficiency also with a king size bed, and at least two other apartments. There is laundry on site for a fee and off street parking. Overall, a great short term, fully furnished, rental location.

We lived there for ten months and literally walked our dog on the beach every single day...even in the snow! Aside from the house and location being exceptional, the landlords are wonderful and make sure everything is taken care of during your stay. The manager was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly - even accommodating us on our late check in. She asked we simply knock on her door when we got in (even if it meant waking her). We also could check ourselves in and do paperwork the next day if necessary. I would definitely return, and bring the family. Great stay!

It's more of a cross between a motel and camping experience. Some of what people have been reporting in their reviews are legitimate, and some not so much. That being said, the staff here are friendly though we only met one person. We stayed in one of their cabins that had three queen beds in it. This cabin consisted of three rooms, a main room which was the kitchen and dinning area, one bedroom with one bed and one bedroom with two beds in it. The bathroom was off from the kitchen. The beds were clean and were comfortable. They had one tv in the two bedrooms with Spectrum cable. The tv cords needed some cable management as the cords where hanging from the bottom of the tv. The two bedrooms had in window air conditioners. There were window coverings in both bedrooms and the main area consisted of paper material coated with a silver inlay preventing the sun a view into the rooms. The kitchen had a smaller full size fridge and freezer which was extremely clean. Though we ordered out to eat there were a frying pan and pot along with a two surface hot plate. The pool was not usable during our stay due to some sort of algae. That being said the owners own another property within walking distance just down the street and the pool was usable. The ocean is also down the street so you can easily go there to go swimming. All in all, this wasn't a bad stay. Please take a look at the photos we have attached.

I have been staying at the Deluxe Oceanfront Hotel and Cottages for over 20 years. We started by…read morerenting a few rooms each summer to eventually renting entire floors. We learned that by doing so, we had the porches to ourselves, and if the weather turned bad, we could hang out together and not bother anyone. In 2019, we decided to rent the entire building. I spoke to Anna Crowther, the acting manager, and on September 28, 2019, I booked the entire building for 3 days in August, 2020. But due to Covid, our reservations were canceled and we were given the opportunity to roll our deposit to the following year. I asked Ms. Crowther if we could be offered the same rates and she agreed. We had to change our dates to a later week but on May 12, 2020 our reservations were made for August of 2021. During this time, Anna Crowther left the hotel and she was replaced by Brenda Larain. I made two payments to the hotel, one in April and the second in June to cover the complete balance due. In the time after payment was made, I had spoken with Brenda several times with questions regarding our stay and to confirm that we had the whole hotel. She confirmed this several times. On Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 I tried to reach Brenda several times on my phone concerning check-in times and she never answered any of my calls, nor did she return my messages. On Thursday, August 19th when we showed up for our vacation, we were told that they had rented two of the three rooms on the second floor. We were offered rooms in "the cabin". When I complained that we wanted to be together, which was the whole point of renting the entire hotel, I was shunned with an "oh well". I then asked why they could not move the guests that were on our second floor to "the cabin" and was told that they had inconvenienced them enough already. Our inconvenience was of no interest to her. We also learned that there were children in one of these rooms, exactly what we were avoiding by renting the entire hotel. When we said we might be loud, (for children) this was interpreted that we were going to disrupt the whole complex, which resulted in one of the staff telling Allen, the owner, who was never part of any of this conversation, but suddenly appears now from "the office" to tell us....and I quote: "Get the f&^% off my property." Which he repeated. There was no cause for this language and no cause to throw us off the premises. We were simply looking for ways to solve the problem. I might add that the second floor is the most expensive in the building, they could have easily put these two guests on the third floor and it would not have inconvenienced anyone, but they were not looking for solutions. Never in the 20 years that I have stayed there have we ever had any problems with our group being too loud or obnoxious. We have always left the rooms in good condition and left hefty tips for the cleaning staff. We are a group of women ranging in ages from 40's to 70's who were left out in the rain, literally, in Old Orchard Beach with nowhere to go. It is impossible to get lodging for that many people on the fly. Many of these women had used their vacation days to go, time they cannot get back. Allen and his staff at Deluxe Oceanfront Hotel and Cottages were the rudest people I have ever encountered in the hospitality field. In all the phone calls I had with Brenda, she was cordial and polite, but this is not the Brenda I encountered on August 19th, 2021. They clearly had an agenda. Rent here at your own risk.

They also speech French and enjoy a huge Canadian clientele. The Edgewater has and will always welcome Canadian visitors with the respect and affection they also have over the years. They have always had your back.
