After reading reviews for local bike stores, I opted to visit Allspeed first. I went in just to check out what they had in stock, and little did I know they would help me find the most perfect bike at their shop. As soon as I walked in, I was met by the kindest staff. They asked me about my cycling goals, experience, budget, etc. They showed me a few bikes that met my needs and allowed me to test them out for a bit on the Bayside Trail, which is adjacent to their store. For me, it was love at first sight. I truly fell in love with one of their Fuji bikes I tested, and the rest is just history. I bought it on the spot and they even held it for me for a few days since I didn't have my bike rack with me that day. The whole experience was phenomenal - as a newbie to cycling, I was initially a bit intimidated about the whole purchasing-a-bike experience, but Allspeed made the process beyond amazing. A few days later, on my second ride, I got a flat tire. I took the bike back to Allspeed and within minutes they fixed it. They also noted that the tire was low in pressure, and acknowledged they should've double checked the pressure before selling me the bike. Because of that, they didn't charge me for the flat. Glancing over, we spotted people boarding a nearby vessel and rushed over. It was the Portland Discovery Harbor Sights tour, about to depart. I quickly explained our situation to a crew member, who conferred with the captain and with real generosity waved us aboard with one minute to spare, trusting us to pay at the ticket booth upon return. We were genuinely moved. My mother was visiting Maine briefly, and getting her out to see the lighthouses meant everything. I got the bike to bring me to their shop and they took the bike right in the back, figured out the problem, fixed it, and sent me on my way within about 5 minutes. They wouldn't take payment and were soooo friendly. They even suggested a good route for me to ride. I can't say enough good things about my experience there!

Great experience, good, safe service. The picnic boat is beautiful, comfy seating. We had 8 women which we fit comfortably, you could fit up to 12 people, but I'd imagine if it's all average sized adults, that could be a little too snug. Huckleberry, our boat dog, was an added plus and possibly the most gentle pup. Would do this experience again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend doing private if possible.

We chartered a Ferry ride to Peak's Island on a crisp early Autumn day. The Good: *You can load your car on the Ferry *Nice boat with a top view *Staff was friendly enough *Fairly inexpensive at $14/adult & $7/child for round-trip ticket. *They also do scenic boat tours, as well as the Ferry service. Check their website for dates and times. The Meh: *Peak season pricing on autos that can go from Off-Peak Season price of $70-100 (depending on vehicle size) to $150-170 for Peak Season price. The Ugly: *Make sure to plan your day accordingly with the boat schedule. You don't want to get stuck on an island there without a reservation. Conclusion: Even if you just go out to the island and back, it's still worth the $14 of entertainment riding across the ocean.

Enough time on the water without being too short or too long. We were met at the Marina entrance by our Captain who walked us to the boat. The first mate was already working on the rigging and it seemed the process of getting underway ran like clockwork. The Sail around the bay was amazing and the Captain and her staff were perfectly knowledgeable about all of the points of interest. We genuinely appreciate the amazing experience, how safe we felt, the funny anecdotes, and for a life long memories!
