My first impression was of the fenced in, "secured" parking lot where a security guy waved us to the back. When I asked why, in the rain, I couldn't park closer to the door, he indicated that it would be safer for me to pull out, since I was driving a large vehicle. He clearly assumed I couldn't drive my SUV. It would be safer for me as a female to not have to walk from the back of a lot where, judging by the wall and fence, has security issues. What made it worse, when I left, he wasn't even in the lot to make sure my lengthy walk to my big SUV was safe. But let's get inside. Went for Sunday brunch around 2pm. We were greeted by a friendly and cool waitress and to the sounds of Teddy Pendergrass, so all was forgiven. The buffet items could have been fresher, but I did arrive the last hour of brunch. For $21.99 you get a mimosa, one made to order omelette in addition to the buffet items. Everything was fried - chicken wings, perch, pork chops. I had all 3, wings and fish were ok, pork chops were dry. Sweet, soft waffles and good grits. Mac n cheese was a little dry, but good mixed into the grits. Again, maybe better if you go at beginning of brunch. Fruit plate was a nice one, featuring wonderful honeydew. Not enough veggies on the buffet. The staff was friendly and it seems like a fun place to come for their karaoke or comedy night. Since it was a buffet, I did not get to witness the slow service others have warned about. I can see that though. We had to find the waitress to pay the bill. It was nice to not be rushed and I'd rather friendly and slow than rude and rushing me out. Great Sunday brunch spot! Located on the southwest corner of 7 Mile & Telegraph with a gated parking lot and nice looking patio (it was cold when I went). Nicely decorated interior with high top tables on one side and a well stocked bar on the other. There is also a balcony like second floor with regular table seating. We visited on Sunday right at the 10am opening time. They were serving brunch so the normal menu wasn't available. Brunch was served buffet style in elegant silver chafing dishes lining the bar. Also, there was aside dessert display and an omelet station with omelettes made to order. When I walked along the bar and peeked into each dish one by one, I was pleasantly surprised. The buffet included grits, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, fried chicken waffles, fried catfish, salad, pasta salad, bow tie pasta marina with cheese, and green beans! Everything I tasted was fresh, hot and delicious. Drinks were extra. I ordered a mimosa and it was one of the best I've ever had. The service was impeccable. Our server was pleasant and attentive and open to any special requests we had. She even took our omelette order up to the station and delivered piping hot made to order omelettes back to our table. Once it started to fill up they should've added some help for her because she was working the whole place and it seemed like a quite a big job. It gets better...there was live jazz! I went to the brunch last Sunday, after I few of my friends told me about this restaurant/bar. I heard so much about how good the food was, so I was eager to check it out! Upon walking into the restaurant, I really liked the ambiance, and the music playing from the DJ during the brunch hours. It was a nice and laid back vibe! Service was nice, and there were a nice amount of food options to choice from the buffet, from what I remember: Grits, fresh fruit, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, veggies, macaroni and cheese, pork chops, pasta salad, fried chicken wings, fried catfish, omelette station-and more food items I'm sure I missed! I have been here at least 3x now so I figured it was time to write them a review. My hubby and I come for the lamb chops for $2 on Tuesday's of course. The first time was good but they didn't get the temperature of my lambs chops correct. Now the second time, everything was perfect. The only thing that I can complain about was I didn't order enough lamb chops. Now the last time we went I knew exactly what to order, how many to order and how to have it prepared. So the last time we went I ordered 20 lamb chops, prepared medium with the "Demi" sauce on the side. They were delicious!!! We could not eat all 20 but we sure did try. We also had a baked potato loaded that we split between the 2 of us. While we were there my husband and I learned about there all you can eat Sunday brunch for $21.99. I really wanted to like this place. I had heard great things about the food. I ordered the lamb chops and paid $27 for the plate and was given 3 lamb chops. The lamb chops were very well seasoned but there is no way 3 of them are worth $27. This is the slowest, worst possible service that I ever received. It's not even just me, everyone around me is also complaining about the service. You have to practically beg for it... the parking lot is small and tight. So to sum it up... the food is good but you don't get what you paid for. And the service couldn't possibly be any worse. I doubt I will be back. read more

My wife and I went to Demi's tonite for dinner. Since March we've dined there on three occasions. Each time was good but got better each time. The food is actually very well prepared, cooked and served. Tonite we had the sweetest waitress. Lauren was very personable, polite and professional. We had the following: fried catfish, sautéed collard greens, Sweet potato fries, whole chicken wings, loaded white potato. All of it was seriously superb. Visited Demi's a second time on 12/22 Brunch food this time wasn't so good. The Grits were not moist, sausage links were too charred, sausage pattys were flat and dried out and so was the catfish. Wings were OK, as were biscuits /gravy The Omelet that's included with buffet was good! and the hostess Sierra makes great bloody marys with a few garnishments but not good mimosas, they lacked correct balance needed.The mimosa formula is 2 fingers of juice and rest is champagne.The waitress Raven was energetic & attentive. Nice venue, especially for the location. The drinks are good and reasonably priced. They do however advertise daily happy hour, which they do not honor everyday ( Sunday's no happy hour even though that's never stated next to any of the happy hours ads) As far as the food is considered, it needs some work. For some reason all the food taste bland and as though they don't use salt. The food is also too pricey in my opinion. The quality of food does not reflect the menu pricing , consider using Groupon or some other form of savings when considering dining here. The group I was with arrived around 6:30 and it was almost 2 hours after placing our order that food arrived. Once the food was served I felt for the most part we gave it C+ with a couple meals that went uneaten. My server (Cici) was really good and overall, the staff was really good. I had the fried chicken wings, which were the star of the show. I had lamb chops (which were really small and not as tender). Additionally, I like mines medium cooked. I was not asked how I'd like them and was given well done lamb chops. The flavor was definitely there, but could've been better overall. Although the mashed potatoes were real potatoes, they were bland, so I added the demi sauce (kind of like zip sauce) and it taste better. The "sautéed" greens tasted like they came out of the can (like Glory Greens or something). I will go back, but it won't be for the the lamb chops. If I have doctor to up the food (which I did), it might be awhile before I come back unless it's for the fried chicken. Lol! I will be back to try some other items on the menu in the future though. I just got home from having lunch at Dem's and I could not wait to fix me something to eat. I ordered the deep fried Chicken breast and waffles. After waiting almost an hour for the meal, my entire meal was cold, and my chicken was dry. I expected a deep-fried chicken breast, not sever slices of cold fried chicken. When the serve brought out my waffles with the chicken there was no butter and the waffles were cold and I could not cut them with a knife. This was my second order because when I received the first ordered the chicken and waffles the chicken was cut up and placed on top of the cold waffles then covered with syrup. I left the entire meal at cost of $16.90 I left a very very small tip which was due to the service and food I could not eat. My friend ordered coffee with cream with her meal, the cream was placed on the table in a small black container. When my friend asked what type of cream is this? She was told almond nut. It is my belief if an establishment only has cream with a nut base they should inform the patrons. What if a customer has a nut allergy and unknown to them they placed the cream in their coffee/tea? THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME THERE AND MY LAST TIME THERE. FORGOT TO MENTION THEY WERE SHORT OF MENUS SOME OF US HAD LUNCH MENUS AND OTHER HAD DINNER MENUS. Came here to watch the MSU game. Walked in during happy hour and it was a large group of us. Our bartender Sierra was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. Ok my daughter and I just left here, they have 2.99 Lamb Chops on Tuesdays and at Happ Houry 5.00 drinks on certain ones. Let's start with the Lamb Chops these this time around were just ok, before when I had them it was for lunch and on a different day so maybe that makes a difference idk. However, the chimichurri sauce that you can ask for to go with the Lamb Chops is amazing. My daughter had 4 lamb chops and a baked potato and Mac and Cheese, I tasted the Mac and cheese it was the most horrible Mac and cheese I had in a long time like I couldn't believe they would sell something like that this wasn't fair! I never seen black folks make Mac and cheese like that, I mean we expected better! Somebody had mixed bread crumbs in it itwas gritty and looked like they tried to loosen it up with maybe somr water then microwave it. I'm sorry I do reviews all the time I do them and tell the truth whether good or bad I keep it real, it was horrible and my daughter should not have had to pay for that. I had 3 Lamb chop and Cajun Pasta my pasta was good I just wish it had been hotter. After a crazy week, my husband and I said we're going out. We live in the neighborhood in Rosedale Park Detroit, MI and we were tired of having to go out of the city or downtown for great drinks and excellent food. Good date night For the Groupon we had it offered an Appetizer, two entrees, along with a shareable desert. I expected less than stellar food selections but there way no skimping on the menu and our server Daisha was so helpful and attentive. I opted for the Ribeye loaded sweet potato, and Mac. Stopped in for lunch. Was a nice setup from what I saw. Sat at the table by the bar. Since it was lunch time, wasn't crowed. The staff was friendly. Was with some other coworkers for lunch. Got our food ordered and it came out the way we ordered. The steak was delicious including the loaded bake potato. Met a friend at Demi's for drinks. I got there about 1030ish on a Thursday. The parking lot security walked me safely to the door. I was surprised to see a live band performing on a weekday night. There was decent crowd of lively patrons. The late night bar menu definitely has enough choices to cover a variety of palettes. I ordered a martini and the wings, which are accompanied by a house made hot sauce. The wings came out pretty fast- they were hot, crispy and seasoned to perfection. Our bartender was attentive and several staff members stopped by to check if we needed anything. My only gripe would be that the bathrooms are downstairs and secluded. Don't get me wrong- the facilities were clean and all, just Kinda felt like going to a basement bathroom at a stranger's house. Bothered me enough to notice but surely won't stop me from coming back.
