I visited Views Bar and Grill with a party of two. Between the $40 cover charge and my food bill of $60.48, I spent over $100 at the establishment. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We waited over 60 minutes for our food despite there only being about three other occupied tables. My chicken Caesar wrap was served burnt on one side, and it appeared that it had been intentionally plated with the burnt side facing down to conceal it. I also waited approximately 10 minutes just to receive a side of dressing and never received my water refill despite requesting one. When I politely asked if I could receive a discount on my burnt meal due to the poor quality and service, my concerns were not properly addressed after talking to 3 different servers they offered me a "already ready" wrap with grilled chicken instead of fried like I ordered and it was also super greasy from their "homemade dressing" . Additionally, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to my bill for a party of two, and I did not see any signage or receive any notice regarding this policy. My recent experience here was incredibly disappointing. Our waitress, Bri, didn't know the menu and made up her own menu, made multiple mistake's on our bill (five times total), and even gave false information when questioned by management. Unfortunately, the manager or owner "G" didn't improve the situation either all he did was help the incompetent waitress create more bills -- both owner and employee have no customer service! Giving the location of the establishment and how empty the parking lot is, not surprised! The drinks were poorly made, the "Old Glory Greens" are not fresh collard greens, and the mac and cheese was low-quality and flavorless. I genuinely want to support Black-owned businesses, but the lack of respect and professionalism toward customers makes it hard to recommend this establishment and due to this being my second bad experience, I won't be back. Went to views on 3 dollar Thursday for lamb chops and they did not disappoint! The food is always great and their zip sauce is a little different than other with a nice sweet taste. The other food was also great the buffalo shrimp isn't just shrimp dipped in franks the sauce is spicy and full of flavor! The lemon pepper always hits! The service is great food comes out quickly and hot! Our waitress made sure we were good and our drinks never empty. There's street parking as well. Booths cost money, but tables are free. Just get there early to get one. They serve drinks, but there's no drink menu. They also serve hookah. My husband and I stopped in to have a quick meal after coming back in town from a funeral. We ordered a lamb chop meal that was to come with two sides for $40. 30 minutes after placing our order we were advised that neither of the sides that we wanted were available and we provided our preferred substitutions. 20 minutes after that, we requested that our food be wrapped for carry out and when it was brought to us and I was given the receipt, it was for a total of $57. Four lamb chops at $28 à la cart, two sides at $18 à la cart, and an 18% gratuity on what had now become a carry out. I advised the server that was supposed to be a meal at $40. She went to the back and returned to tell me that the bill was correct. When I once again suggested that it may not be, she told me that the manager already told her it was right, and there was no need for her to go back to the back and check again. Composed, but completely annoyed, I gave her $60 and waited for my change. She brought me back two dollars instead of three and I told her she owed me another dollar. She looked at me as though I had annoyed her and then stopped at someone else's table without acknowledging what I said. At that point I was pretty ticked off and decided it was better for me to let her have that measly little dollar, than to have any further conversation. The pita was delicious. The chicken was crispy and the other toppings were crisp. The pita itself was nice and soft. The loaded fries (bacon, cheese and ranch) were delicious. They were also the perfect side for the pita. I will definitely order again. The wings were just ok. I got the 6 wings, naked, with garlic parm. There wasn't a lot of a seasoning but they were still crisp. Overall, for a bar I would say the food was great. The home of the lamb chops is the first thing I think of when it comes to this place. This place is a restaurant, bar, and nightclub all roll into one (the radio broadcast here every Friday night I believe). I have came on a Saturday during them showing the fights. Super crowd, high cover (I believe it was $20 on this night). Sundays and Monday's are more my speed, crowd isn't big, free cover, karaoke (Monday's I believe). Drinks are starting at $6 and up and are strong but small. To me the star of the shows (beside the beautiful waitresses) is the lamb chops. Small and 8 cost $25 (on Tuesdays they are $2 a chop)but the glaze and lamb chop overall is simply amazing and one of best things you will have in life. Every great thing you can think of saying applies to these lamb chops. The lamb chops are not the only great thing to eat here: the hot wings (about 8 or 9 for 6 whole wings) are excellent and another must eat here. Really fun environment and friendly staff. The drinks are good and the food is great. They different themes for every night which makes them able to cater to literally all age groups. Music is good and update, and some of the best DJ's in Detroit right now make appearances. I get lamb chops every time I go there and I literally haven't been disappointed yet. On busier nights like the weekends there definitely is a little bit of a wait on food so try and be patient. It isn't usually too long, but there have been nights that I've waited longer than I'd like but management is pretty good at handling that if you bring it to their attention. While exiting the facility, the waitress ran behind us to say someone in our party didn't get all their food. The overly aggressive security guard, grabbed my purse when I attempted to reenter. I told him he could hold the purse at the door until I returned if that was what he was interested in however when it appeared I was disgruntled with his treatment the security guard shoved me out the door slamming my hand in the door. I was not freed for several minutes. When a guard outside finally released my hand from the door I turned around and noticed the security threw my purse and the contents all over the ground in the parking lot breaking my phone. I was not intoxicated. The guard explained to my husband that he was justified in shoving me, throwing my property to the ground and slamming my hand in the door because he didn't like my tone. DoorDash orderers and drivers beware. Drivers they don't allow you to park in their lot for pick up for delivery force you to park on the street for pick up. Very disappointing! I try to support local bar and grills but this place will not get my business again. Sat for 15mins no waitress every came it wasn't crowded because it is Sunday night. We finally stopped a waiter who gave us menus and took our order didn't bring waters or silverware. Food took 40 minutes and was not very good! I had cold fries and the steak bites were just ok. There are a few things that needs improvement such as customer service, the restrooms, more waitress with positive welcoming attitudes, food time wait , security and parking. When arriving security makes a person feel like a criminal with the pat down frisking, searching and going through your purse.
