Should I give my trustees a copy of the actual documents so they'd see the contents, or just tell them where to find my papers if I die? I felt Greg and I trusted and respected each other. Greg was very proactive and communicative even when I was kind of putting the project on my back burner. The end result of hiring Greg: I now feel secure with my documents. He provided me with a clear picture of my options (bankruptcy options), and a kind understanding of my situation. I was in no situation to be able to pay for a bankruptcy in full at that time, so I placed a small retainer, and continued to make payments as I could, once I had made all the payments we would proceed. Little did I know, this was the beginning of a professional relationship that would continue in the future. Jan 2015, I had a surgery that came with multiple complications, as well as, an inability to proceed as I had originally anticipated. Edward continued to remain patient, kind, understanding, and never pressuring. He was still willing to work with me, within my abilities. Fast forward.... To March 22nd, 2018. My family member had passed away, leaving myself, as well as, other family members listed as heirs to his estate. My mom's Alzheimer's is now too advanced for them to do them again. She had to be reasonably competent to get that done. This sucked. They were nice about it, explaining they'd changed computer systems, but it still sucked. Now I have to figure out how to go after guardianship probably. The second time I went to see Vicki Vernon about a family law issue. She was kind enough, but now that I have been around the block a bit more, I know that she's not quite the shark I would need to accomplish what I was setting out to accomplish. I dropped this proceeding and she was kind enough about that, as well, handling that very professionally.
