We met with Jesus, the owner, twice, before work even started and he came by daily to check on the progress of our project. We also met with Elizabeth, a co-owner, as work was progressing. Both Jesus and Elizabeth had wonderful ideas for us to consider. Their company built a brick stairway leading from the side of our driveway and up into the planting area at the front of our house. It is exactly what we had in mind, and looks amazing. We also needed some bricks replace/repaired, and their workmanship was excellent. Lastly, they brought in soil and mulch, and planted a number of plants. All work was completed in a timely manner, and their workers were always on-time, and clearly had pride in their work. We truly enjoy our new front and side area, and will use Brothers & Sons for any future projects.

I did my due diligence and got proposals from 4 companies, but in my opinion no one else offered the creativity and attention to detail that was evident in B&S's proposal. He skillfully matched the color and texture of the new mortar to the 77-year old original so it's nearly impossible to distinguish new from old mortar. The latest project involved…read moretransforming my "nothing" of a backyard lawn into a dramatic lower patio and driveway turnaround (so I no longer have to back into a blind alley!) Miguel asked tons of questions to make sure he understood my vision of what I wanted - he even did a "test drive" with a car similar in size to mine to make sure the circle was large enough to accommodate the turn! I wanted permeable pavers and he offered choices that go perfectly with the colors of my house. Miguel is very good at keeping you informed of the project's status; he and his crew work really efficiently but they don't skimp on any details or excellence. As part of this latest project, Miguel poured a new concrete base for the deck steps (the previous owner had simply placed the bottom of the wood stair on bare ground!) and he added to the concrete area underneath the deck that he constructed previously, so I can more easily pull out my trash bins. I totally enjoy working with Miguel and I'll be using him for more projects in the future!

Ernesto and his brother Omar are great. My mom needed her 30 year old deck replaced. I brought…read moreout 3 different contractors and right away, I knew Ernesto was different. He took over an hour to measure everything and sent me the lumber quote he received so that I was fully informed, then we talked labor. He would point out problematic areas (like rotting framing) and would ask me if I wanted to have it replaced rather than just covering it up with the new surface. He did an amazing job that had my mom's tenants and the neighbors complementing the work and I felt the price was very reasonable. Based on that job, I brought him out to take a look at my townhouse to possibly replace the siding and he suggested sanding, priming and painting instead due to the price of replacement. They sanded almost every square inch of it, primed it (in some areas twice) with a peeling paint primer that is like glue to fill in gaps and keep the rest of the old paint from peeling, and then put a double coat over everything. When they finished, I was surprised to find that they had power washed our patio, porch, and front half-height fence and even painted the fence though we never talked about doing any of that work.
