I bought him to breed. I want professional care from a vet. The gril poked my dog over and over with no results as my dog was getting more and more nervous as was I. I had her bring someone else in and they did it almost immediately with no problem. I was being targeted as a "toxic male" as men do today for disagreeing with the quality of treatment I was receiving. I have never been treated so disrespectfully. I asked for them to never put me with them again. I got a text this morning saying that it was my fault and they were cutting me loose. All because i didn't like my puppy being needlessly poked over and over due to not knowing how to hit a vein.

Maybe they do well when caring for other pets but in my most recent visits I felt ostracized and…read morebelittled by staff which is truly disappointing. In October I had an annual vaccination appointment for my dog and the provider(s) ran behind by 20 minutes yet the receptionist didn't call to inform me that the provider(s) were running behind although I called to let them know I was in the parking lot.. What is irritating about that is if I were running behind by 20 minutes, I would have been TOLD that I needed to reschedule the appointment. I don't see how there time is more valuable than mine so I opted to reschedule rather than continuing to wait. Due to Lakeview Animal Hospital transitioning to a new system, I was looking at a 3 week lead time to get back into the practice which wasn't feasible for me because I live in a community with many dogs and I didn't want my dog to be subjected to contracting something that I was going to Lakeview Animal Hospital to receive preventative care for. The receptionist advised me to take my dog to Tractor Supply for the vaccines I was trying to receive at the scheduled appointment mentioned above. When I was trying to confirm that Tractor Supply provided those series of vaccinations I was talked down too as if I was supposed to know that Tractor Supply had other functions outside of providing "tractor supply". She made it seem as if I was asking stupid questions when I was simply trying to confirm the information she was sharing with me. It was embarrassing and insulting to my intelligence and really pissed me off because I was simply asking questions. Her tone on the call upset me because ultimately this entire situation was due to poor communication when I was never advised that the provider(s) were running behind 20 minutes!! I will admit that I called her out of her name as I hung up the phone BUT due to her poor communication and my frustration, my dog and I were dismissed from the practice. Absolutely absurd when this entire situation was due to Lakeview Animal Hospitals poor communication. Another instance of poor communication within the practice is when I brought my dog in knowing he had a yeast build up. I knew this already by the smelly paws and excessive licking/scratching. When I was expressing my concerns with one of the providers she took a piece of CLEAR PACKING TAPE, ran it across my dogs skin, took the PACKING TAPE looked at it under a microscope and charged me $55. I was thrown off when I received the bill and stressed that to the provider. I gave a very simple analogy which was that when YOU go to the gynecologist and tell her or him that you think you have yeast, they take a swab, put it on a glass slide, look through the microscope and confirm if you do or don't. That's not an additional charge within the visit. She didn't have much to say when I said that because it's true. If she would have COMMUNICATED that it's an additional charge to execute a task that takes all of a few minutes and that you essentially learn how to do in middle school biology, I would have opted out. All in all, I am disappointed with the care that I received for our dog. He's a registered emotional support animal to combat the loss of my husband and step daughters in a tragic accident. He's not just any old pet, he's a family member and he serves an unimaginable purpose for my daughter and I.

It was traumatic for me and I can tell you it was probably way more for my sick dog. When "the doctor" came in after the "exam" he told me he saw maybe something on her gums but wasn't really sure until they did test; he was going to send someone in with a diagnosis plan. The person that came in was not educated with what she was presenting to me but gave me an estimate of roughly $1,800 for blood tests and things as extreme as an IV and catheter. I still have no idea what they thought was wrong with my dog. I said I wasn't going to do all of those things just to find out, the girl offered that maybe I could just do the hydration & that was $39. She said she would go put a new "diagnosis plan" together and come back. I still do not have my very sick dog with me, the lady comes back and the $39 hydration was now $98 I asked her why it changed and she said she didn't know... I asked her to find out. She left and came back and explained that the process would change if they didn't do the $1,800 plan, so it would be more. At that time I demanded they bring me my dog and I left paying the exam fee for absolutely nothing! This experience is remanent of an ASPEN dental Experience in the early 2000's where they take advantage of your lack of knowledge and fear to make an extra dollar. I took her there because I was so scared and my vet couldn't get me in until later in the day. I went to my vet appointment a few hours and paid $75 for meds and diagnosis and a clear path to a bill of health. Without invasive tests or IV & catheters. After paying for the "exam" at VCA... I walked away with nothing more than a bad taste in my mouth.

From what we learned with Pam even just during the first training session my dogs changed so much! Pam taught us how to be the pack leaders. we train a few minutes every day and now my dogs obey consistently, walk without pulling, wait for food/treats, don't jump at people or constantly bark. I have well behaved dogs that can be in public, walk in crowds, and go with me anywhere we want to go. This was one of the best investments I've ever made. my dogs are happier and I feel confident my dogs won't have aggression issues. From the beginning Pam has been available and helpful, providing us great information, answering questions, hopping on calls, and coming back out for more training. Now, we get to do monthly pack walks with her and other clients to continue to instill good behavior and communicate effectively with our pups. If you feel like your dog is beyond help, or you just wonder if your dog will ever be able to go for a leash walk CALL PAM!

Like many people, however, we were thinking, "Sit, stay, come, down, off, no." Ha! Command words are super important, but we had no idea what real dog training involved. Our sweet Sayla came from a shelter and while she did not have any really bad behavior, she needed to learn essential skills to live in the real world and not create havoc in ours. Kelly took time to evaluate Sayla to better understand her needs and ours and put together a training program to fit. She was great about keeping us informed about successes, challenges, personality quirks, etc. throughout the process, which helped us to understand how to be better parents at home. Kelly also trained us in how to continue the training at home to ensure success and was so good at answering questions. While I realize it is different for every dog, in just 4 weeks' time, Kelly, Lori and Ronda transformed Sayla from a sometimes shy, scared, non-listening, barking/pulling crazy fur-girl to a well-behaved, confident, listening superstar! Not only did they teach her essential skills to exist in our world, the confidence and enrichment training taught Sayla to trust us more, how to not be so reactive and how to just be a dog. You have changed her life and ours and we are grateful! Best money ever spent. Thank you!

This review is for a spay appointment we had in January, 2021. What a way to start the new year! First, the new building! It looks so beautiful from the outside. Clean, well-designed, and you can tell that it is them from the enormous dog statue inside! :) For pandemic spay appointments, you call in and reserve a spot on the calendar when they open the schedule for new bookings. I had to wait over an hour on the phone, but that is because they were closed for almost 2 months, I believe, because of the move. The phone staff were incredibly patient and kind. We drove up on the day of Rosencrantz's appointment, as directed. We waited in line while staff went car to car and ascertained who we were, and put an identifier on our car under the windshield wiper. We filled out the paperwork. Note: Everyone must be masked, and the cat had to be in a hard-sided carrier, per their emailed instructions. The staff members were masked and I felt safe in conversing with them. Then your car gets to the front of the line, and you hand over the carrier. Poor Rosencrantz was so unsure of what was going on! But I digress. At 4-4:30, you drive back and wait in line to pick up your pet. When we were able to get R, the staff member delivering her was very kind and patient with his time, while we asked questions and he gave specific directions. One thing that would have been good to put on the original directions is to quarantine them to a small room for a while, once you get home, and to have fresh litter. Upon reflection, that makes TOTAL sense, but sometimes we don't think ahead. The price was SO reasonable: $40 for a spay, and $20 for 2 vaccines. That price is much appreciated. It is able to be so low because of grants and other funding (thank you!). In all of our interactions with staff, everyone was SO kind and caring. I never felt rushed or had an unanswered question. Highly recommended!

I didn't think the people in the parking lot waiting for the place to open were very polite. I was the 2nd car in the lot but other people ran in front of me to check in so I became #4 (not the fault of the Humane Society!). After you check in you go get your dog, but you have to wait until the person in front of you has checked their dog in before you go. Which was kind of a problem in the freezing cold. Especially since I didn't want to lose my spot again to everyone else that was jumpy! My dog was fine after the surgery. She was drugged up so very lethargic but overall everything with the surgery went well. The staff was very nice and friendly. They were talking to the dogs and the people. I wish they would just have a better system to drop off that could be less of a run for it method!
