Had my Toro mower repaired here to replace the cables that serve the self-propelled function and the throttle. After $200 and several trips back and forth it finally worked properly. I used it to cut the lawn 3 times and the repair failed. When I took it back they did not stand behind the work they'd done and basically blew me off. A business I'd avoid like the plague. over the years I've purchased several lawn mowers, chain saws, weed wicker's, snow blowers and accessories. I've gone there because it's close to home and they sell good products. Here's the thing, every time I go in there I have to prepare to be talked down to and I always have felt as though I'm not that important and it's almost as if I'm bothering them. I'm a really easy kind of customer to deal with and usually go high end. Today is the last time I will ever go in there!! Service department would not take in my snow blower for service because it's "grass season". They could care less when I told them I was a long time customer and had to load it on my trailer to get it there on my only day off from my busy life. I even said that they could keep it as long as they needed to with no pressure. Nope! I was just a piece of shit annoying customer who they just wanted to go away. We'll, I did, and I know they could care less. They never did! I wouldn't go in there again if they were giving stuff away! I've been in business here on Cape Cod for over 32 years as a chimney sweep and I know that dealing with the general public can be a challenge at times. I picked up my lawn mower after it was repaired today. I asked the Service manager to help me insert a chord in my weed wacker [two minute job] that was purchased two years ago in the same store. I was told they were too busy and wrote up a service ticket to have it done. The ticket was for $30. I believe in helping small businesses. When the 'gouge' their clients, I am gone. The Service Manager showed little concern for my disdain! Dennis residents should try Bayside Equipment - Far better service in my opinion. Horrible the worst repair service you could imagine the service manager is the biggest a hole you could ever have the misfortune to run into how he has a job there is beyond understanding he must be related to the owners otherwise he would be fired they had my small engine for a simple maintenance job for 2 months never completed never called me with update I would call and was only told 3 words " I'll call you" was the only response 3 times I was told those 3 words until I took it back they refused to return my 65$ required deposit or would not give it back to me they and he sucks don't go there other businesses deserve your money they don't read more

I brought my loan mower to get fix and took whole couple months I pick up wasn't good deck out level belt felling off burning I brought back They said I have over 4 hours on my machine the manager ! I told him I have to stop every 5 minutes to put the belt back he was laughing on my face any way they took back they fixed after a month and they gave back to me missing parts I told him and he didn't believe I have a picture from my machine on front of he's store I proved and anyway he made a big deal they lost parts he said maybe I took out at my house he is a joke I don't recommend if you want to having them work on you equipment anyway take a bunch pictures before you drop off THEY SUCKS GO ELSEWHERE read more

I had a pocket of cash to buy a snowblower, today. None of the half dozen machines on display out front had prices displayed. Couple of staff behind the counter but none of them acknowledged me much less asked if they could help me. After wandering around for about ten minutes I left. They weren't interested in my business. Bought 2 Honda generators from them . ( 2200 and a 2200 companion) worked for about 6 months then both stopped running . Dropped them off to have the recall done and fixed . Called them 5 minutes before they were closing to pick them up . Told them I might be 2 minutes late and they told me that they don't stay open longer than 5 . So there might not be anyone here . Well got there at 4:59 and my generators were up front by the fence . The guy told me I was all set . Put them in my truck and left . Took them camping that weekend and guess what ? That's right they still don't run !! Brought them back and now 2 1/2 weeks later still have not looked at them . This place is a joke . Would have giving them less stars if it would let me read more

These people (especially John) are horrible. STAY AWAY. I bought a trimmer and when the line ran out I had trouble putting in new line. Less than 24 hours later I brought the trimmer back and politely asked for help. And with a tone John said No. Again another No. I'm baffled and getting upset. One thing leads to another and I leave and they called the police on me. A Brewster cop showed up on my property and I explained the whole thing. The officer left. No police report...nothing. It's obvious the officer was on my side. Dennis Equipment is a HORRIBLE company with HORRIBLE customer service. AVOID AVOID AVOID. There a better places to go. Trust me. read more

I've been a customer of Dennis Equipment for over 10 years. I've a purchased a snow blower, several chain saws,a weed wacker, leaf blower, multiple chain saw blades, and had equipment repaired there.I dropped a chain to sharpen. Called a week later to see if it was ready but no. Called again after 3 full weeks......not ready but it would be the following week! I took the chain back brought it to another shop and was able to pick it up the next day! There's plenty of places on the Cape that sell the same equipment. I'll never go back there! read more

They have done good work in the past but when the teenager at the counter started up with that question last time I was in that told me they had all the business they could handle with their sales customers. Don't Buy-Local. Why not: Higher cost, sales tax and no advantage on service. What might have once been a great business has succumbed to arrogance and an indifferent attitude toward customers. I wouldn't recommend becoming one. Sales are smooth, friendly and hassle free - after that you are just one of the cattle. I bought a snow blower here in November to avoid the rush. Ordering, delivery and setup went smoothly. I struggled with the idea that I could have ordered the same machine online, gotten a discount, free shipping and no sales tax - but decided to go with the "buy local" and chose to support a family owned, longtime Cape business. There must be some value-add, right? No, actually. I used the blower for the "great blizzard" and it worked great - ran solid for 3 hours. The next storm it would not start so I brought it in to the store. 24 days and 3 storms later I finally had it back again. The explanation is standard: we're busy, lots of other customers, had to get manufacturer approval, had to order the part, had to wait a week after the part arrived before we repaired it. The fact that I purchased it there and it worked just once apparently had no impact. My conversation with Dave, the owner, though calm and reasonable, was pure company line; no satisfaction and no advantage purchasing the machine there. Dave: "I like to think we treat all our customers equally." I would have walked out satisfied if any one of these things had occurred: * An offer to replace it with a new machine, since this one obviously had a serious problem after only 3 hours of operation. (There must be a fantasy world somewhere where businesses stand behind their products.) * Make an effort to repair it quickly - after all it is brand new and purchased there. But 24 days to complete a repair? Unacceptable! * Apologize. That's all it would take. Recognize that this could have been handled better. But to quote Dave again: "Tell me what I should apologize for and I'll be glad to do it." - Weren't you listening? Obviously not! read more

All I ever want is for a company to do what it is supposed to do... I brought my old snow blower in to get it fixed . They did a great job , they did it on time and did everything and more that I asked them to do. It is wonderful when a company dose what it says. I have tried to like this place because I am a big stihl fan and it is close to my house. I went there to get a chain for my chainsaw sharpened and it took 3 days. I got a gift certificate for Christmas but lost the actual certificate. I was able to produce the receipt. They found the stub and matched it to my receipt, I was going to use it that day, they did not honor it. I consider this robbery. All they had to do was mark it used on the receipt. I also tried to purchase a chainsaw chain and it took an excruitiating amount of time to figure out what chain I needed despite my furnishing the model of saw and spare chain I had with me. When my parents bought me a Christmas gift there (which I returned) they witnessed the owner beratting an employee in front of several customers. Like I said, I want to like this place but I think I'll deal with big box stores or amazon from now on. I never have any problems with them. Used to be you payed the extra money because it was good for the community and because you get better customer service at the mom and pops. Not the case at Dennis equipment. My cub cadet lawnmower had a recall. The manufacturer recommended Dennis Equipment to fix the problem. I spoke with Adrian from Dennis Equipment, he didn't tell me that he needed to order the part prior to picking up the mower, he held my mower for 3 weeks while he ordered the part then replaced it. I told Adrian my mower was in pristine condition, and I expected it returned in the same condition it left. They returned it with what looked like deliberate scratches all over the hood. I contacted the company and spoke with the owner Dave who said, "they scratch without even touching them". I would never go back to this company,nor recommend them. read more
