I brought back a defective product to the store -- a pair of $200 salt and pepper mills I had purchased there about two weeks ago. I had just unwrapped them and filled them the day before, only to discover that the surfaces on the bottoms were literally disintegrating. The young woman behind the counter was actually very nice. She even remembered me from when I bought them. She asked me to step to the side while she spoke to the manager because, apparently, "these didn't leave the store in this condition." I said, "Okay," and stepped aside to look at some other things while I waited. I genuinely thought I had just had a perfectly normal, friendly interaction with her. I had absolutely no idea I was apparently the opening act for The Salt & Pepper Mill Hostage Crisis. The manager comes out and asks if he can help me. I say, "Yes! I bought these awesome salt and pepper mills here a couple of weeks ago, and I just opened them and discovered they're disintegrating. Look." This man immediately launches into me that these products did not leave the store in the condition I was returning them in and accuses me of letting them sit in water or otherwise intentionally damaging them. I'm thinking, What the actual $&@? I asked him, "Do you really think I'm lying?" He said, "Yes. You must be." At this point I'm like... WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? He tells me I was aggressive with the cashier. I said, "I was??? OMG. I had literally said hello, showed her the mills and explained that I was SAD because I had just unpacked them and they were falling apart." She then told the manager that this was not how they left the store. I'm sorry, but... WHY WOULD I DRIVE AN HOUR TO BRING BACK SOMETHING I HAD INTENTIONALLY DESTROYED? Especially when, at the time I bought them, this SAME PERSON proudly told me they had a LIFETIME GUARANTEE. A lifetime guarantee. It had been TWO WEEKS. Then this guy looks me up and triumphantly announces: "IT'S BEEN ALMOST 30 DAYS." I'm like... okay? I wasn't even asking for a refund at that point. I was bringing them back because they were defective and trying to figure out what the hell to do about it. Also... 30 days is not a lifetime. And then things somehow got even crazier. The young woman IS BEYOND UPSET, reaches for the phone and tells me to leave the store and gets right in my face like I'm a threat to her. I'm standing there thinking, WHAT IS HAPPENING? I may have said something unkind at that point -- BUT I WAS PROVOKED and for that, I will concede that I probably could have chosen better words. But I still didn't raise my voice or lose my cool. I was simply completely bewildered by what was happening. Then an older woman comes out from behind the counter and suddenly ALL THREE OF THEM ARE YELLING AT ME TO LEAVE. They literally ganged up on me like the mean girls in a middle-school cafeteria. I felt like a trapped rat. And all of this... OVER A SALT AND PEPPER MILL. They told me to leave or they were calling the police. I'm thinking, THE POLICE?! For what? Aggravated pepper grinding?! Eventually the older woman, who was shaking and yelling, managed to tell me that they would tell any customer that defective products had to be handled through the manufacturer. I said, "Okay. I hear you. But why are you all so horrible?" She said: "Because you're upsetting everyone." I said: "I'M upsetting everyone?! Good lord. Imagine this family's Thanksgiving dinner." At that point, the guy who runs the pottery shop next door apparently got called in as backup and walked me out. Now the whole store was involved. And here's the thing: he remembered me. I had bought a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff from him the same day I bought the mills. And unlike everyone else, he was just... normal. He was calm, understanding and completely reasonable. Which honestly made the whole thing even more surreal. I walked out thinking, I am a normal person. What the hell just happened? I have never experienced anything quite like it. I loved those $200 salt and pepper mills. Apparently, they come with a lifetime guarantee and a complimentary nervous breakdown. Absolute worst customer service experience I've ever had. I'm not saying you shouldn't shop there. I am sharing my story because I was mistreated and neither heard nor cared for by the owners of a business that earn their living from good people who deserve better. Plus these people should read about themselves, look in the mirror and be embarrassed with themselves. What a mess!!!!! Horrifying!!!!!

Finally, this time, he said he had done all he could for the unit and for us. All I wanted was to have it removed as soon as possible so that I could go and just buy another fridge somewhere fast (approaching a big holiday gathering). Not to be. I was frustrated and showed up at the Orleans store, spoke with the wonderful manager there, who told the service dept. and the front office as well, about my visit. Response was immediate and we are forever grateful. Have bought from them prior to this (an Amana stove) and will again. And by the way, their customers ARE very important to them.

I have tried for months to receive these rebates, many emails and calls with no response. Finally reached the COO Jay Upton and explained my situation with months of frustration. His ridiculous suggestion was to return the appliances which means hiring an electrician and plumber to disconnect them for pickup. I tried to reach the owner several times but no response. In addition, KAM sent the wrong refrigerator and requested me to pay a 30% return fee and another delivery charge which I refused to pay. Their sales manager Frank even stated there were no GE rebates at that time. After I provided documentation on the rebates given to me from Jack, Frank said to call GE. I contacted GE and their rebate company and since months passed, GE said to contact the dealer for their assistance. KAM provided no assistance, made excuse after excuse and I never received these rebates $800 rebates promised. I thought I would support local businesses instead of the Big Box stores. It was a Mistake. The story they post on customer satisfaction is a joke. I strongly suggest you shop elsewhere. Hopefully the owner will contact me after this reading this review. Very frustrated and disappointed
