Lester brothers is a better source of top soil, mulch and gravel. Sandy's Landscape is a better alternative for landscape supplies and installations. But I'd certainly never do business with Wilcox again. THE LONG: We ordered 10 yards of 411 limestone and 2 yards of #10 limestone. We received 2.5 yards of #10 and 6.5 yards of 411. We honestly assumed they were gonna do two truckloads and called to see when they would be out to deliver the second load. The receptionist laughed at me and transferred me to the owner. The owner proceeded to tell me I was an idiot and probably over excavated our area by 3.5" average. We formed and transit leveled an average of 4.5". We were shooting for 4" and were anywhere from 3.5-5.5" at the deepest. Let's call it an average of 4.5" (to be generous to them). The forms were 32' long and 13 feet wide. That comes out to 5.7 yards (being generous). Plus we poured some at the entrance of the patio (let's call it a yard to be generous). 6-7 yards. Whats weird is that we got the right amount of #10. Im guessing they could bring in a few hundred thousand dollars a year doing this and honestly, who is forming up their gravel/mulch? This was a unique situation where we wanted a perfectly sloped base so we screeded the gravel like concrete. To fix it we had to order a second load of 10 yards and pay for it. This time I measured the truck. If the truck was full to the brim it would be 10 yards. I'll let you be the judge of whether or not you think that truck in the photo is full. (We got less than 8 yards the second trip-once we got the rest in the forms) We would have ended up short on our own estimate and ended up needing 12 yards total and were prepared to go get a couple yards to fill in around the patio. But got less than half done because we were short so much. We ended up getting less than 15 yards total. we have 2-3 left over and 12 under the patio. Yes, including the compaction rate which is about a half an inch at this depth. The owner and driver were incredible rude throughout the whole process. We invited them out to double check our math. The owner Jeff said he would come out twice to check and remedy and never showed either day. We also invited them to let the driver check out the forms and take measurements while he was out delivering the second load. He never left the truck. We were more than willing to have our math corrected and let them double check the measurements. They were uninterested in resolving it and at the end offered us $100 refund which we refused because it doesn't seem right. We got less than 15 yards and paid for 20. I get why they would do it. I just don't want to have any part of it. I'll let you be the judge. After this was all done I thought back to the last time I used them for mulch delivery. I alway bought bagged mulch and always had extra. I ordered the same from them and came up short. I assumed it was my math. Now I question that. This is how they do business. To give them the benefit of the doubt, Im not sure they even know they are swindling people. They just seem to be uninterested in verifying or correcting it. When the techs arrived, they said they could not inspect with a video. I called and inquired as to whether this would lower the price. "No". Ok. They had to move my stove, which rests on granite tiled floor. An awful grinding noise, (which I should have immediately called out). I wanted the techs to show me how dirty it was and their first pass had just a bit of creosote. But they made sure to mention that it was "really" dirty and that I should schedule once a year. Ok. But, I used to do my own at a previous home and compared to that, it was NOT really dirty by any means. They were done in 10 minutes. Pushed back the stove and I paid them cash. In doing so, they charged me $300. Thank you. However, when they left, I gave everthing a closer look. The original debris that came out of the pipe was still on the floor behind the stove (Are you kidding me? Your vaccuum was right there and could have sucked this up in under 5 seconds) and then I noticed the crazy scratches on the granite. I called back office; sent in photos and explained what happened. I demanded a fix (Not rocket science, as the stone has to be sanded and polished), but is it my responsibility to do the job correctly that I paid $300 for)? The back office asked me if I had pictures of the floor before the techs scratched it? Ah, no. Supposedly I'm to expect a call back from the owner. Been a week and 1/2. Crickets.

I hired Foundation Systems of Michigan to encapsulate my crawlspace. The crew they sent did the…read morejob in 5 hours, way to fast. I went down there to inspect and saw a horrible job. There were a couple rips in the material, the taping on the seams between sheets zigzagged; and this is on the factory cut edge that's perfectly straight. They used the spray foam to adhere the tarp to the cinderblocks. Some spots have huge spray foam globs that sank and pushed the material out creating air gaps. The only way that can happen is there is a critical shortage of fasteners holding the material up, I've seen less than 10 on the whole job so far. There are spots where the spray foam looks like melted cheese, its disgusting. The entire area has a layer of dirt and hundreds of spray foam turds along the walls. The two 'doors' they put on for $1000 were 2x4 and pvc board with 2 screws, absolutely unacceptable. When I called to talk to the crew they said they had swept out the area, I laughed and hung up on those liars. There is numerous work material trash left under there including a 2 tank spray foam setup. They also spray foamed 2 interior walls that were not part of the work plan and didn't need it. I had the supervisor come out to take a look and he pointed out more things wrong and said this needed to get made right. Guess someone forgot to write something down because when the next crew came to make repairs, they didn't have the materials they needed cause it wasn't written on the work service order thing. It's a month later and I still haven't received any before or after photos from them of their work but boy am I glad I went down there and took my own. I know it can be grueling work, but for something that is supposed to bring peace of mind about your home, this has been a nightmare. If you need go with anyone else
