I posted to the local community Facebook page for a reliable electrician and Bill Stover of PGH Electrical Services was recommended numerous times. Bill is the independent owner and operator for PGH Electrical Services and is licensed and insured. I reviewed his Facebook page and found several positive reviews. I messaged Bill around 10pm the night of the fire department visit and he responded right away. He visited my house the very next day (a Saturday) at 9AM and looked through our house and evaluated the situation. He identified the problem of the overloaded circuit quickly and proposed a solution that day. We had one other electrician visit the house for the same proposed work, and he didn't suggest the options that Bill provided and was going to do more damage to our ceilings and walls than what Bill proposed. Bill's pricing was competitive from speaking to others who had recent electrical work completed. We knew we wanted Bill's expertise for the job! The only criticism I have for the business is that it can be hard to contact Bill regarding proposed work and getting some preliminary questions answered. I attribute that to his busy schedule and him always being on the go, though. Bill arrived on time on the scheduled start date for the work. He was careful to remove his shoes while walking through my home and wore boot covers over his shoes when necessary. He was friendly, professional, diligent, and very hard-working. He took his time to make sure he thoroughly understood the various circuit connections for each breaker before starting any new work. He thought outside the box when working to minimize any new holes that needed cut into the walls or the ceiling. He also replaced the drywall sections that were cut and patched the holes when he was done. He brought a vacuum and would sweep up any dust or debris that was created from running new wires in the walls. I appreciated that greatly since I have a small dog that I didn't want to step in the debris and I have asthma. Plus, no one wants dust and debris tracked through their home! Bill exceeded expectations when he installed a new light fixture where a plain lightbulb was located in place of the light that the firefighters had to pull out of the ceiling. He also checked out my garage and identified a faulty light switch that was sure to cause more issues down the road. He replaced both during his work and neither were part of the original scope of services. He also did it without additional charge. Bill completed his work as anticipated within the two-day timeframe, too. I would highly recommend Bill and PGH Electrical Services for all your household electrical needs. His quality of work exceeded expectations and I'm so happy that we chose him to fix our electrical problems during what was a very scary time for my husband and I.

Derrell and his helper came by to assess the situation the day after my husband noticed our furnace blowing cold air. It turned out that one of our two furnaces was leaking carbon monoxide ( no bueno!). One furnace was cracked internally, and Derrell used his camera to show us where the cracks were, and to show us how the other furnace was close to malfunctioning the same way. Derrell listed some furnace prices, we discussed our options, and decided to move forward. When he couldn't get our quote to us the first night, he texted to let us know he hadn't forgotten about us, but that the furnace that we planned on was not available. He then worked with us to get an excellent rate on high-quality, high-efficiency furnaces, with an arrangement to work with him in the future on our cooling system in the spring. On the job, his entire crew was friendly, respectful, efficient, and professional. They were even super friendly to our pooch. When they hit a huge challenge with our ancient, stone-walled basement, they worked through it with a can-do attitude and got the job done. They also cleaned up nicely at the end, which is something my husband, a plumber and carpenter, notices a lot of tradespeople don't do here. Clear and timely communication beginning to end. It is refreshing to deal with a company that takes pride in the work and has a high standard of professionalism for its employees. I hate to say that we've encountered a lot of flakiness, and lack of quality and professionalism in the trades here in Pittsburgh, but it's true. Not only was our heat exchanger broken, but most of the circuit boards were fried. Blowing not only CO2 into our house but they also made us aware of a scary possible electrical problem in our electrical supply or the electrical in our home, for the boards to be fried but it never popped the breaker.. The owner of the business came out the next day to give us a quote. He checked all the returns, the supply, the duct work and the furnace itself. Went over our budget and our needs before giving us information on what he felt were our best options. He was extremely friendly and very polite. And was very upset he didn't have any space heaters to lend us to keep us warm in the meantime.. which I never expected him to offer in the first place. After we gave him the go ahead they started work Thursday October 13th. Immediately got it running to the point that we had heat! Yay!! Now we did require more work than the simple swapping of furnaces so the install took three full days, Thursday, Friday and Monday. But every single person at our home, was courteous and polite, neat with not only their work but between days, and left the area spotless when they left. What the owner, Greg, said was very true..
