Dryer would not start found a fuse that seemed bad. Went in and the parts counter fella had a replacement for me before I could even show him my model number. And then he said "also check this ..", which was key because I did check that, and it revealed a bigger and more serious problem. So back I go and they had that part as well! BUYER BEWARE We purchased a $2,300 refrigerator from Cabin Hill, our 4th appliance from them in about 6 months. We chose this long-standing, locally owned business because we believed we would receive reliable service and accountability. We also purchased the extended warranty on every appliance we've bought there. We were sold a defective product. Just over a year in, the freezer failed. We are now over two weeks without a functioning refrigerator, including through Thanksgiving. We lost hundreds of dollars in food and had to cancel holiday plans with our family and grandkids. The service technician spent over an hour diagnosing the issue and informed us that we had one of the most serious problems a fridge can have: a refrigerant leak, which rendered both the freezer and refrigerator unusable. We were told the repair would take nearly a full day and had to wait over a week for the appointment. After over 5 hours of work during the repair we were suddenly told that the refrigerator could not be fixed and we would need a full replacement. This was especially frustrating because just an hour earlier we were told that everything looked good and the repair would be finished soon. Instead, they said GE, not Cabin Hill, would be handling the replacement process. We didn't buy from GE; we bought from a local store expecting local support from their in-house service department. That expectation was a major factor in choosing this supposedly "mom and pop," 100-year-old business. What happened next was even more disappointing. I called today to speak to an owner, hoping that someone with actual decision-making authority might help our family. I was told an owner would return the call. After hearing nothing for 3 hours, I called again and was told the owners are never there. I was then transferred to a supervisor, who later identified himself as the highest-ranking employee on site. This supervisor was dismissive, offered no empathy, and provided no solutions. He repeatedly talked over me, refused to provide his manager's contact information, and would not pass our concerns to anyone above him. He hung up on me three times. I never yelled or swore; I was simply trying to get help. Am I frustrated? Yes. Did the arrogance, disrespectful tone towards a woman, and abrupt hang-ups escalate that frustration? Absolutely. We now have: A barely one-year-old refrigerator with catastrophic failure No usable fridge or freezer Hundreds of dollars in food loss A disrupted family holiday "Double coverage" in warranties that have produced no meaningful support A business passing everything off to GE, despite GE not being the retailer The most disturbing part is the complete lack of compassion, accountability, or willingness to connect us with an actual decision-maker. The supervisor claimed to be "in charge" but refused to share who his own boss was or how to contact them. Each time we asked, he hung up the phone. We expected much better from a company that presents itself as a caring, community based operation that has served our region for generations. Our initial experience, including excellent delivery staff was exactly what we had hoped for. But when it mattered most, that level of service disappeared completely. We have contacted the Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General. People deserve to know the reality behind the reputation. This has been the worst customer service we have encountered, and the overall experience has left us feeling deeply uneasy about how this company does business. If it was, we wouldn't be here. Plus we called GE directly today 12.9.25, since we have heard nothing yet, and they had no idea about this issue, so more untruths. I am still in shock after our entire ordeal with Cabin Hill and feel compelled to share this so others understand what can happen after the sale. In 2024, we purchased four major appliances from Cabin Hill -- a dishwasher, washer, dryer, and refrigerator. We chose them specifically because they presented themselves as a small, family-owned business. Their website stated that the owner's mother and stepfather still came into the store to help customers, reinforcing the impression of hands-on, family-driven customer care. With our first purchase, the salesman strongly encouraged us to buy their extended warranty, explaining that if it wasn't used, the cost would be credited toward a future replacement appliance. Based on that assurance, we purchased extended warranties on all four appliances. What we were never told is that this warranty policy had changed shortly after our first purchase, nor was this disclosed when we bought the remaining appliances. Just before Thanksgiving -- less than a year after purchase -- our freezer completely failed. Before service could even begin, we lost over $500 worth of food. Because Cabin Hill is closed Sundays and closes early Saturdays, we had to wait until Monday to call. A technician came out promptly. At the first visit, he determined parts were needed and said he would not be back for nine days. Given the holiday week, we tried to be understanding, though this meant canceling our plans to host Thanksgiving, leaving my five-month-pregnant daughter-in-law to host instead. Nine days later, the technician returned and spent six hours attempting the repair. He then told us the refrigerator was condemned and needed replacement. He said GE would contact us, but later explained he wouldn't submit the paperwork until the next day -- meaning we were told we wouldn't hear from GE until Tuesday, another five days away. He also informed us that the extended warranty would not transfer to the replacement. When questioned, he simply said, "That's just how it is." Despite everything, my husband still tipped the technician $20. The next day, I contacted Cabin Hill. After being told the owner would call and waiting five hours, I called again and was told the owners don't speak to customers and a manager would call. When the manager, Brent, finally called, his first words were, "I know you're mad at my technician." This was not true -- we had been respectful and tipped him. Brent was immediately defensive, spoke to me condescendingly, and repeatedly insisted that because it was a GE appliance, we were on our own. When I asked to speak to the owner, Brent hung up on me -- three separate times -- and staff refused to provide the owner's name. After waiting until Tuesday as instructed and still hearing nothing from GE, and with no communication or assistance from Cabin Hill, I had no choice but to contact GE myself. It took over three hours to reach someone because I was not a direct GE customer. GE informed me that no paperwork had ever been submitted, meaning the replacement process had never started. GE also stated the refrigerator became irreparable because the technician cut a hose too short. Because Cabin Hill refused to provide ownership information, I researched it myself and learned the business had been sold. The new owner is Tom Charlie (owner of several Shop 'n Save stores). He responded once, apologized, and said Brent would call with a plan. When Brent called, he said the warranty couldn't be transferred because Cabin Hill changed warranty companies, but promised they would purchase a new warranty and also offered a deal on a new microwave. During this call, he asked me to take my review down. I said no -- we still had no refrigerator, no timeline, and nothing had been made right yet. I said I would revisit the review once everything was resolved. We ultimately went over a month without a refrigerator, canceling all holiday plans and relying on a mini fridge from my Pilates studio. When the refrigerator finally arrived -- a month and a day later -- the promised microwave "deal" turned out to be $25 off, merely a Home Depot price match, and the promised warranty was never provided. During that final call, Brent told me my review had "hurt people" and accused me of lying -- including about ownership -- despite the fact that Cabin Hill had indeed been sold. I contacted Tom Charlie a second time. He did not respond. This situation was caused by a faulty appliance and service errors that were not ours. What has been most upsetting is not that something went wrong, but how we were treated afterward -- with defensiveness, disrespect, and silence. read more

First time purchase at Cabin Hill Maytag Greensburg with buying my refrigerator. Brian was so patient with me and very knowledgeable of my issue. The older homes of the 70s, 80s, 90, are almost impossible to buy a refrigerator to fit in the space of the broken one. Brian took his time with the measurements in making sure that he found a refrigerator that would work. I honestly never realized there was so many measurements to buying a refrigerator, from making sure the hinges on the doors open properly and do not bang into the wall or cabinet, to fitting the cabinet space above the refrigerator (good luck with that) and the width (good luck with that also). He asked a lot of questions of my measurements and wanted pictures as well. He finally found one that would fit accept for the height. No problem though! There was no other way to make it fit accept to take the cabinet down and get it trimmed from a cabinet maker. Brian followed me through the process and I absolutely love the refrigerator. It worked out beautifully getting the cabinet cut down and looks like a newly build space. I really do like my new GE refrigerator. read more

Purchased washer and dryer from them, had issue with washer and called them for a repair. The washer was a little over 5 years old. The guy came and told me what was wrong BASED on what I told him what it was doing and he said that I bought "junk" and needed a new washer. I told him that YOUR COMPANY sold me this "JUNK"! He never touched the washer, he stood there with his hands in his pockets!! Charged me $90 for a 3 minute visit!! He was very rude and disrespectful. In 2016 we purchased a microwave from Cabin Hill for our 90+ year old mother. In October of 2019 the microwave would stay on when the door was open. When we took the microwave to Cabin Hill they convinced us that it would cost as much to repair the unit as buying a new one. So we bought a new GE microwave. Now 8 months later the microwave stopped working. Cabin Hill gave us a big run around saying they couldn't get parts for it. This is a terrible store that doesn't stand behind the appliances they sell. I would think twice before buying anything from them. read more

They have great customer service, respectful, knowledgeable and they back what they sell and you can't beat their installation service. I saw that someone had rated them with one star without any explanation, of course. I just had to fix the rating. Honestly if you don't want to be given the run around and want a good product and great people to deal with, then this is your place. We bought our dishwasher there a month ago. We first purchased a dishwasher at a big box store and of course they had nothing in stock, so when it was delivered it had a huge deep dent in the back and water inside! They gave us so much stress over returning it. Once we got our refund we wanted to go somewhere where they had something in stock so we picked Cabin Hill in Greensburg.
