First time client so I arrived 10mins early to fill out paperwork. They called me back at 1:50 and had me undress completely for my wellness exam and they gave me a thin paper like cover for my body. I treated at Caring for Women for three years. Nothing serious, just HRT and normal exams. After my last experience I read through the reviews. No unlike others I too had multiple terrible experiences. In 2024 I waited 45 minutes to be seen. Sitting naked in a cold room, with the basic disposable "cape". The PA came in,saw the time, made a comment about how behind they were (duh) and proceeded to conduct the necessary exams in 5 min. I felt violated. Almost like I'd been raped. Terrible! But it was over, didn't need to hassle with it for another year. 2025, now I'm on Medicare. Learned to make my appointment first thing to avoid delays. Checked in at 7:40 AM. Was immediately asked for my insurance. I didn't have my Medicare card but had the card for my Supplement policy (you can't get this coverage without active Medicare account). I apologized, said I didn't have my Medicare card, I'm not use to carrying it. The receptionist was rude, offered no work arounds, just demand my Medicare card or I couldn't see the doctor. "Well, perhaps you didn't understand my response the first time, I don't have my Medicare card with me today, I have my Supplement card.". "If that's not sufficient they I guess we need to reschedule". Rescheduled for next week. The day before my apt, I checked in on lined, received a call from billing asking for insurance information, gave them my Medicare number and Supplemental policy information and was told I didn't have to provide insurance information at check in. Following day, apt scheduled for 8:40, which means I was probable the 3rd or 4th patient for the day. At check in again the rude receptionist demanded proof of insurance. Explained I had provided it at check in the previous day. She demanded proof or I wouldn't see the doctor "and your insurance could have been cancelled overnight". Gave them the proof they wanted. In the exam room at 9:00 sitting and waiting, remembering my 2024 experience wondering how long it would take this year. At 9:20 still no one came in to tell me there were delays, apologize, nothing, just waiting. At that point, not wanting to be violated for a second year in a row, I got dressed and left. I had decided before the visit, based on the rudeness of the receptionist, I'd look for a different clinic. I received my "discharge from care" letter today which kind of made me laugh but prompted this review. I can not recommend this clinic if you value your time or have any self-respect. I'm sure the care is fine if you have the patience to tolerate rude behavior and a complete disregard for your time. Considered this review your warning! read more

Dr. Rukec is amazing!! So is NP Stephanie. After years and years of suffering from extreme pain with my menstrual cramps, I now am cured! They listened to me, had compassion and BELIEVED me. I felt that they truly cared. Before finding her, I had a horrible experience with a GYN in PS by the name of Fozouni (beware- do NOT go to that man!) and so going in to my first appointment my confidence and self worth was low. They did not make me feel rushed, they made me feel normal and I just feel so much better. THANK YOU ALL. It's sad that the actual Dr is the one to ruin someone's experience at that office. I left half way through my pregnancy because she treated me horribly. I made an appointment with the Dr and I saw someone different she was nice! I ended up having to have an ultrasound done and a follow up phone appointment! I work I'm waiting for this phone appointment that I confirmed in the morning! Then I received a phone call stating they haven't received the ultrasound back I was supposed to be having the appointment about! That would have been something that should have been in order the day before! The quality and care of Dr. Chika Okorie was amazing. I went in with an idea of what birth control I wanted, and she gave me a great alternative that fit the standards of my needs. The only thing I'd say that was bad would be the appointment timing. I went in at 10:01 to complete any pre-appointment new patient paperwork, for a scheduled appointment for 10:10... I didn't go to the back exam room till about 11:00 then after that I wasn't physically seen by a physician around 11:40. read more

I like the doctor but the office staff in La Quinta is terrible. Be prepared to be put on hold immediately when you call, and then you will be left there for 6-8 minutes. Unable to get answers I needed about lab results. Said I would get a link to the portal, never did. The person on the phone said she was new and would pass me to someone who could help, and I was immediately asked to be placed on hold. (Again). Too bad. I like the doctor a lot. Finally hung up. It's odd because when you are in the office they don't look busy, they just put callers on hold. Maybe they need more staff. read more

The Indio office has no yelp page so I'll give my PSA here I've been coming to the Indio office for my first pregnancy since July I have loved the drs but I can't stand the office. A few reason why are showing up early to my appointment and there being no one else in the waiting room but someone else walks in for theirs late they get taken right away. There's no sign in sheet for who is there on time just a girl behind a desk who can do as she pleases. The scheduling and phone call reminders I get for my appointment mean nothing since I showed up and they didn't even have my appointment scheduled? I'm baffled by this one I've been getting the calls reminding me about it so how it's not scheduled is beyond me. They insist on me coming in again on a different day of the week. I understand the drs are busy so these appointments can take longer than expected but the majority of my issues are not because of that but because of the incompetence and lack of care of the office staff. Don't waste time your time making an appointment here. I called and requested to schedule an appointment, they told me the only time slot they had available was a whole month out. I agreed since I could not find another specialty doctor's office out in the valley similar to this one, the lady on the phone confirmed to me that she put me in the books and I was scheduled. I've been coming to Caring for Women for 7 years. As women, we always care for others and I am grateful for this office because I have felt how much they care for me. They have been with me through all the ups and downs over the years. My miscarriage was handled with so much compassion from Dr. Recuk. My recent surgery to remove my tubes was handled flawlessly by Dr. Okorie. My questions/calls always get answered within a reasonable amount of time. Stephanie is very reassuring and shares her knowledge and advice freely. Of course sometimes we have to wait or be rescheduled, but this type of practice is going to have emergencies. Almost two years ago this practice, Dr Emily Rekuc sent me for pelvic reconstruction. Loma Linda did the surgery. I went back yesterday and was treated like a part. I tried to speak with the doctor but again I was put off told to seek other specialties Dr for my concerns! Go back to your primary doctor tell them see if they will help you. When will doctors treat us like whole people not just a part. This is directly a result of being passed off. Not one person in that office asked me basic questions about medications I take! They really missed yesterday. My weight was taking my blood pressure was taken. That was the complete iTriage. There was no discussion of medication, supplements, or unnecessary over the counter medication. I was not asked for a current list of medication's. I was also forced to go into their portal to confirm an appointment so I had to register the registration questionnaire was so long. I answered anything anyway I could just to get past it it was disturbing. It was disruptive, and I won't go back to this office because of the lack of care, lack of caring for the woman and her whole parts. It's so disappointing. Possibly that's the last time I'll ever go to a gynecologist again. It was really an awful visit that was not esteeming but hurtful rejecting and neglectful!!! Caring for women does not want to provide this person with care. The pre-registration paperwork I did online was not reviewed because it was all bad. All the answers were wrong. No one cared to look, and no one cared to help me. No one cared to help me I would like to say that again no one cared to help me and no one offered me help I did say I was having difficulty with their portal! The lack of care and concern was staggeringly perfect! It was really obvious the doctor that I spoke with that examined me, it was plain it was concrete. It wasn't caring it wasn't gentle. It was not good medical care it was not thorough And wholy inaccurate! Again, I must say my dog gets better medical care through animal Samaritans, that I got at caring for women. read more

My wife had a appointment while I waited in the waiting room watching tv I visualized how rude and careless the receptionist is she clearly has no manners or remorse for anyone I saw how she treats the lady next to her and let's just say I do not know how she is still employed we can start with a Good morning or please and Thank you as I continued waiting for my wife I noticed she was just putting any incoming phone call on hold as I repeat continuously not even a "Good morning Can you hold" does not even give a option she just slams the phone down and says I have a patient in front of me when she had no one in front of her let's just say if your not happy in your work environment don't let it effect anyone else or show it we we are not at fault that your are not happy ! read more

Caring for Women staff in Indio need some evaluation. I am almost at month 8 of my very first pregnancy and I can truly say this facility is the worst. No one ever answers the phone and when they put me on hold and transfer me to voicemail. I've asked for the supervisor Irma many times where she said she would talk with the girls who work at front desk because of their rude, careless behavior. Which seems to have done nothing considering the fact that they are still very rude. As a first time mom I felt like I was stuck here at this facility but after a staff member told me over the phone to solve my issue on my own, that she was not the one who rescheduled my appointment twice and if I wanted to I can speak to "the girl who changed my appointment and ask her to change it back" I realized this facility does not care for women. Which was clear from the very beginning I believe my brain was just a bit foggy. If you're willing to tolerate disrespect, see several different doctors BESIDES Dr. Rukec this is the place for you! I have yet to meet Dr. Rukec and she's the one whose supposed to deliver my baby. Which sparks a huge concern for me. I never felt assured, cared for, or respected in this facility. As a Latina, I almost think this is all personal. My husband and I would show up early to our appointments every time and somehow manage to still be the last ones in the waiting room because somehow everyone else got called in before us. Now their rescheduling my appointments without notifying me and saying they have no other options. This office staff absolutely disgusts me. My wife had an appointment this morning she called me after her appointment and was complaining about the lady who does lab orders and how incompetent she was she told my wife to wait and told her that she needs to wait so she doesn't mess up another person's chart my wife was in a rush because she had another appointment to get to and she told the lady she needed to wait or she could leave and come back later to check out. This place does not care for women. They were extremely unprofessional and the doctor never even showed up for something that needed to really be done. One of the nurses stated that I was disrespectful because of a non disrespectful comment that was made. I have never been so uncomfortable in my whole life and would never recommend this place to someone trying to feel safe. Horrible place and horrible doctor. If I could give a negative 5 starts I absolutely would. The waiting time is so long. Do not waste your time. First of all they write your name on a small ass paper cup and tell you to pee in it and leave it in the bathroom. Theres other cups sitting in the bathroom that they have not took out which is completely gross and unsanitary. The room you have to wait in for the doctor is hot as hell like they do not have ac at all. Got a tiny fan in the room. The doctor is rude and doesnt even know her patients names that she is supposed to be checking. She walked in and called me a totally different name. I had to correct her and it's like she got an attitude. I will definitely not be going back and she will not be delivering my baby. The receptionists look and act like they dont even want to be there. Health enforcement really needs to come and check this place out. I am in my first pregnancy and had been referred to Dr. Rekuc by my primary care doc so I had never met her before. I started having issues very early on with depression and anxiety. Her office staff were so kind and friendly and helped me get in as soon as possible. I was embarrassed because that's not how I wanted my first impression to come across to the practice but they were so very kind. I met with Dr. Rekuc and she was so nice and understanding and helped to put me on the right track. I'm so thankful my doctor referred me to her and I look forward to the rest of my pregnancy being under her care. I'm also extremely thankful her front office staff were so understanding as well. It made a very scary time into a much more comfortable situation and I will forever be thankful for them. read more

(Regarding the Indio office) I do not recommend going here as I have had an overall poor experience and I would suggest going somewhere else for longterm care. For background, I chose caring for women because they seemed to have good reviews and I wanted a female obgyn doctor. I originally came in because I was experiencing heavy and irregular menstrual cycles. During my first appointment, my doctor didn't do any sort of physical exam or review my medical records. I have a long and complicated medical history regarding heaving bleeding and anemia and thought I may have fibroids or cysts causing me pain and irregular bleeding. However, the doctor dismissed by concerns and suggested I go on the birth control pill, which I was already taking. She was very adamant about me changing to a higher dose and did not listen to me when I asked for tests to find the root cause and continued pushing different birth control pills onto me. I had to repeatedly ask her to schedule specific tests and finally she scheduled an ultrasound, biopsy, and hormonal blood test. She was very averse to making these appointments for me and made them seem like a waste of time. When I went to schedule these appointments, the next available openings were months away. Additionally, if you are looking for female only staff, they only provide a male ultrasound technician. This first experience was frustrating and made me feel like I wasn't being heard or taken seriously. Not only did I have issues with the doctor, but the office itself is poorly run. There is little to no communication in terms of preparation for appointments (ex. No one informed me I needed to provide a urine sample and take pain medication before my biopsy, or get my blood taken while I was off my birth control pill leading me to have to get blood taken twice). Additionally, it's almost impossible to get ahold of someone when you call their office, the phone rings and never goes to voicemail. It is also extremely difficult to talk to my doctor. When I missed a call from her, I would then have to schedule a phone appointment, the earliest being for the week after. Each time, my doctor was over an hour late to the phone appointments which felt disrespectful. Why schedule phone appointments when you don't treat them like in-office appointments? Finally, I found no resolutions to my initial concerns and ended up going to Planned Parenthood instead who have already been immensely helpful. I am still trying to get my test results from Caring for Women to give to my new obgyn, but they take hours to answer the phone and continually give me incomplete test results. Overall, this office has an extreme problem with communication that needs to be addressed. I would not recommend going to this office for anything other than a pap smear. I hope they read this and can improve the way their treat their patients. read more

I had a great experience with the dr, but the office staff is the worst-received a discontinuation of service letter after they "didn't get my appt date" for an ultrasound. I had been in contact with the office staff all month and the office manager flat out lied to me on the phone. The reality is that my ultrasound results report was completed 4 days before they sent the letter. I have phone records to back all my dates of communication up and I moved my care away from them, and the only thing I can give them is that they sentmy records within 1 day of requesting them to my new doctor. This office is way too busy, you will wait a minimum 1 hour for your appt, and apparently they drop patients for reasons that are beyond logic. I let the office manager know that I felt bad for the rest of the patients that have to deal with this treatment and that her staff is awful. I have never been micromanaged before on such a small issue only to be dropped for following their instructions. So bad. read more

I have had nothing but GREAT experiences with Dr. Rekuc and her staff. She delivered all 3 of my babies. I had an issue with my first and was in the hospital for about a week before we decided to deliver early for mine and the babies safety. My second was a breeze. My third had a possibility of having problems after birth but she guided me through it and gave me plenty of options to help me feel safe and comfortable. My baby was perfect!! The staff is great! They knew my name and my history and were always very welcoming. I referred a friend and she switched and couldn't be happier. I still visit for my regular lady care :) LOVE this place!! read more

0 stars!! Use caution!! First off, I had an appointment for 2 weeks then was called the day before to cancel. When I went to my second scheduled appointment they gave me the wrong location, gave me inadequate directions to the location in Indio, which then made me late for my appointment followed by being seen at the very end of the day. The plastic Dixie cup is still being used and asked to leave it on the toilet lid. Talk about unsanitary!! Upon meeting "Dr." Emily Rekuc she walks into the room and does not introduce herself and one of the first statements out of her mouth was, "your going to be an old mom." Ladies and gentlemen I'm 35 years old. No need to address me this way. The next thing that really shocked my husband and I was that when I asked her if she would take either Kaiser or Blue Shield Insurance as we had plans to switch she commented, "Well, if you had Blue Shield, I'd be getting paid more." My husband and I were shocked to say the least. It's obvious she lacks care, respect, class, and everything else. She had also made comment she was the only choice in the desert. Let's say, that's not true and I immediately left this office and found someone else. Let's not forget to add, getting my records faxed didn't happen after 3 requests that I finally had to go in person to pick them up. Since this experience earlier this year, I have heard of two other women complain about her and that they didn't feel like she cared. Save yourself, your dignity, your baby and do more research and find someone else who actually cares about you! She's apparently just after your wallet and treating you like a number! read more

Dr. Rekuc is the most amazing doctor. She made me feel at ease and always listened to my concerns/spent adequate time with me. She was incredibly cautious when I started showing signs of preeclampsia and brought my baby into this world safely. The staff is great and the New NP is awesome as well. I'm changing my review to a negative one. The physician was originally great. Knowing to schedule my annual exam 3months prior to when it's due is expected, she is busy. However, i came in and she was an hour late. Due to her inability to manage her time i had to leave since i was going to drive to the other side of the valley for another doctor's app. It's difficult to take time off when you're a nurse so i make arrangements to get certain things done on my off days. I couldn't find anyone after being undress and waiting for 1hr. So i got up and got dressed and left. I was never checked on. I got a call an hour later after leaving asking where i was. I mentioned i couldn't stay and would be happy to come back when she was available. I was informed i could no longer be a patient because i wasted an app. A tried to reason with the staff and informed her of the problem and that i couldn't find anyone to tell i had been waiting for some time. It was irrelevant, a couple days later i was sent a letter of dismissal from the practice. It's unfortunate that this practice lacked professionalism, especially to another healthcare provider such as myself read more

I am only giving them two stars because my visit with the NP was fine albeit running late. I received a call a week ago that the Doctor was recommending I have an ultrasound and when I started asking the receptionist questions she didn't have the answers and said she would have the doctor call me or she would get back to me. I called three days later and got a weak response to my question. I was supposed to hear back from the office regarding my ultrasound appt. and a week later I have not heard back from them. I called twice in the week at 4:50pm and the answering machine picks ups saying they are closed when the office hours are until 5pm AND you cannot leave a message. I just called the office and the answering service picked up and they reluctantly took my message after telling me I need to call back in five minutes.
