I'm staying on Cape Cod for the summer and found a deer tick on my dog. When I called to ask about getting an appointment the person who answered the phone was very curt: "We do not see pets that are not here on a year-round basis." Based on that, I get the sense they don't really care that much for animals. How could they turn away a sick pet? I asked for any availability - not an immediate appointment - but no dice. My family has used this Vet for years but they are refusing to see my sick puppy because I purchased her while away at University. Absolutely disgusting miscarriage of duty and they should be ashamed of themselves. Do not use this Vet if you want someone who cares about your animals. Allison Neese DVM and her staff are the best. I have a black lab/Rodesian mix who is very shy and very large (about 100lbs of furry muscle). We brought him in to see Allison after Dallas (my best friend*dog) had a fun romp with his best dog pal a gray hound chasing a frisbee. The results of which he tore up his two front paws. My poor baby was a mess. Allison and her staff knew how to approach him and took their time. They explained the options, and the outcomes. They Put Dallas at ease, along with me (I was a mess... My poor boy I think I felt pain for him). They took us right in, no waiting. Calm environment. They are helpful when you call with a question. Knowledgable and friendly. If you are on the Cape this is the place to go for loving care for your best friend. Oh yes they do take pet health insurance. read more

Two years ago I dropped in to Dr Neese for a Minor thing for my Great Dane and returned today with something a bit more concerning. I can honestly say I adore her as much as my Vet back home. Got my dogs nails clipped the other day the tech Kristina was extremely gentle and sweet. Would highly recommend this place.

We were clients for quite a few years but that all changed after having my dog spayed. They didn't give me any instructions for aftercare and when I called to get info they weren't too helpful. When I asked about staples being removed a week after her surgery I had to wait until the Dr had time. When they did squeeze me in between appointments they were very rough with my pup and missed 2 staples. I feel they aren't devoting enough time to visits and are going for turnarounds more than quality. The way my pup was traumatized by them is unacceptable. We went back one more time for our other dog and had a bad experience when the receptionist had been in ethical and told a family member of hers (that my daughter has bad history with) we'd be there. I had to call local police to help me and my family leave while this person tried to steal our dog. The Dr never called to see if things were settled and I feel this is something that should have been addressed by her. We have changed veterinarians. Will not recommend them to anyone. As quality of care should be above quantity. read more

Dr. Neese is soooo awesome! She is a truly caring and compassionate veterinarian as well as a highly skilled vet. When we had to put our sweet kitty down and she came to our house and was just so nice...she was a bright part of a very sad situation. Most recently she performed surgery on our older gentleman kitty...when we got him back he had a large swatch of fur shaved and a 5 inches of stitches(looked like "frankenkitty"). Anyhow, today he's as good as new and amazingly there is not a single sign of the operation...yay! FYI she moved her office recently from East Dennis to Dennisport (near Benny's and StageStop Chocolate-often free samples there btw). read more

I have a nearly 13 year old enormous dog, who I inherited when my father died a few years back. He had been going to Dr. Neese, so we continued and I'm so grateful we have. She, and the entire staff there have been amazing. You immediately feel that every animal that comes through the door is genuinely cared for. My dog has lots of issues, as old dogs do, and it's so nice to be able to trust Dr. Neese completely -- she aims for the comfort and happiness of the animal and not the bottom line. I moved recently from Dennis to Wellfleet, but we keep coming back to Dennis because there's no one I trust with his care the way I trust her. read more

I moved back to the Cape last year and do not know many people here yet. When my 12 year old Lab, Roxy, became sick, unable to walk, I took her to see Dr. Neese at the recommendation of a coworker. I am an RN and had had a bad experience previously with a Vet in NH who tried to charge me a ridiculous amount of money for something that was a quick visit and easy treatment, so I had shied away from Vets in general. Dr Neese and her staff were amazing. They made me feel welcomed and comfortable. After treating Roxy for a severe case of Lyme disease, for 10 days, she had become worse and I had to make the tough decision to put her down. Again, Dr.Neese and her crew were there for us....they are some of the most compassionate people I have ever met, and they cried with me for my loss. Have a new cat. I live here in the summer and on the west coast in the winter. I needed to establish with a vet here. Since I'm from yarmouth, I decided to try this veterinary service. Normally I would go to Barnstable animal hospital but figured Dennis is closer. So disappointed, from the minute the receptionist answered the phone. She was short with me, and really made me feel very unwanted. She really could've. Armed less if I came there or not. Back to Barnstable I will go. Save your time-go elsewhere. read more

These guys were great with my dog and helped me trouble shoot what was possibly wrong with my older lab.

I called the vet. Have 3 month old German Shepherd puppy with an infected toe. It is swollen and oozing pus. Not good for such a young puppy and it could get worse very quickly since he is so small. But she could not find the time to see him. So I would NOT recommend this vet at all. If they feel no sense of urgency for a young puppy with an infection, they probably don't feel much for anything else either. read more

Our 11 yr old dog developed PTSD after a trip to his now former vet, I'm not sure what happened to him behind closed doors for a blood draw, but whatever it was left him traumatized. A friend referred us to Dr Neese who has been absolutely wonderful with him. The entire staff knocks themselves out to be gentle and kind even greeting him on the floor with true affection. We are hugely relieved to have found Dr. Neese and her staff. His most recent visit was for surgery which he happily trotted in for.
