Okay... let me qualify why I am giving Denny's a 5 star review... It's not because it started in 1953, the year I was born... it's not because it started in Lakewood California only a few miles where I was born... Pasaden California... but mainly to offset all the 1 star reviews, making this place a 2.5 star restaurant... I came here this morning not expecting much... most reviews said the service was terrible... I thought the service was excellent 8/10... friendly waiters and hostess... Not Mastro's Steakhouse, but your typical coffee shop mom and pop diner... the inside was very clean and just like the Denny's where I live... now I'm not a Denny's lover... I have only come to a Denny's maybe 5 times my whole life, so my experience is limited... the menu is more extensive then the website so I'm glad I posted them... I like that... there's a lot of variety to choose from... I ate off the senior 55+ meal and got the Scrambled Egg and Cheddar with two sausages and bacon with two Pancakes7/10... everything was well prepared and tasty... if you're staying at the Sandman Hotel right next to it you get a 15% discount off your meal... so for coffee and the scramble plus tip it came to $12 U.S.... now that's 5 stars for value! read more

I really like going to Denny's. They may not be IHOP, but this is still a great diner to get eat at. They are open 24 hours a day, so you can come anytime. Some of their best features to have are their Double Berry Banana Pancakes, the Country-Fried Steak and the Grandslam Breakfast Platter of course. I even tried their Brisket BBQ Skillet. The brisket was meaty and not overly burnt, like the menu describes, and all the other ingredients were consistently good. I also had their Cali Club Sandwich, which I thought was delicious and fresh in its ingredients. The coffee is excellent, especially paired with any meal. The service is not perfect since you have to wait a little bit for someone to give you service. Most of the time, however, you do not have to wait for a table. Also, sometimes when I order their promotional choices, they either do not have it in stock or discontinued it, even though they are featured on their menu they gave me. I like going to this Denny's location because I like the food, and I always feel welcomed. I recommend it. read more

I've been to plenty of Denny's locations over the years, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant--period. The server was *shockingly rude* right from the start. No greeting, no smile, just attitude. But it didn't stop there--at one point, they actually **yelled at a table of customers** over a simple mix-up with their order. It was loud, aggressive, and honestly made the entire dining area tense and uncomfortable. We ended up leaving before we even finished our food. No one should be made to feel that unwelcome, especially at a place that's supposed to be laid-back and family-friendly. Management clearly needs to step in and re-evaluate who they're hiring, because this kind of behavior is completely out of line. Not coming back. Ever. read more

Yes, The food was excellent. My Sisters and I had a Christmas Dinner in 2023 .The meal was superb! Great portion. My Sisters were very Happy with the service. Of course I always love The Ladies. I had The sizzling Hot Breakfast type, in a Cast iron like frying pan. The Food was awesome I would recommend This Dennys on Simon St to all. The owner stopped By Our table for short visit, to make sure we were getting the proper service,and To check on Our orders to make sure they were up to The Best. Like what we had ordered. Well what can one say, "They're trying" ! Sure not like the one in Langley BC. Canada. The fries taste like they cut the picture of fries out right out the menu - No taste at all, and the gravy base was something else to be desired. Restaurant was clean very open and well designed. I love the big front entrance doors but the parking is something else. No room to maneuver around in. I really feel it is only fair to write more of a review on this maybe after it's first year of being opened. One thing for sure: It is always 24-07 busy, so that is a good sign. Thank you. read more

I enjoy the open 24 hr deal at dennys beside super store and often enjoy a coffee when I vcan no longer sleep

Although this is a chain restaurant, the food seems to be prepared with care. The coffee is consistently good, hot, and refills are always prompt. The management listens and adapts whenever they are called upon. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the servers. They seem to retain the same great group of ladies, and all, with the exception of one, are hardworking, friendly, and fast. I recommend the Egg white Veggie Omelet from their HeartSmart menu items, just substitute the turkey bacon with real bacon. Life is too short to eat turkey bacon! read more

I had a very unhappy experience yesterday at the Denny's in Abbotsford. I came in, by myself, looking forward to a nice lunch and that I was getting to treat myself, which doesn't happen very often. Things seemed to start out ok, with the waitress getting my order, then bringing my coffee and water. I started out with the Pancake Poppers, which were actually quite yummy. Then everything went downhill, and fast, after that. A different waitress brought my entree, and I asked her for more water and more coffee. She agreed then quickly left my table. When I looked at my entree, I was unpleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't the 1/2 order of the regular eggs Benny, but it was some sort of steak eggs Benny with peppers and onions (I don't like peppers or onions). So I sat, waiting for a waitress to come and see how I was doing to explain that the eggs Benny I was served wasn't the one I ordered. I waited, and waited, and waited...and all the while hoping for a cup of coffee and a refill on my water, but no luck. I waited, tried to catch the eye of the manager, and waited some more... I ended up having to get up out of my seat and ask a waitress at the back service area if I could get some help. By this time, I felt so invisible! The waitress came over, and I explained the mistake with the order, and she did offer to bring a new one for me. Unfortunately I didn't have any time left to sit and wait, and I told her that I needed to go. She did offer me a coffee to go, but I declined. She did say she would remove the cost of the entree from my bill. I ended up paying for my coffee and the pancake poppers. The manager said a quick 'I'm sorry for that' and left me to pay my $5 bill. I left the restaurant and sat in my car and just cried, because the experience was so much below my expectations. I had felt so invisible! read more

This is probably one of the closest Denny's I've ever been to, and that is not an exaggeration. First thing I noticed about this place was how inviting it was and how WARM the toilet seats were. I swear to god, it's like they either had some type of heat-lamp system or they just had someone personally sit and warm it up for you, and I thought the one at my house was warm. Anyway, I went to the other Denny's and THEIR toilet seats were warm too! I thought it was just this Denny's but I was mistaken, it seems to be some type of quality standard that I have come to expect from Denny's. In fact, the first thing I do when I'm experiencing a new Denny's is take a quick stroll over to the restroom and see how warm the toilet seats are. Usually if I'm pressed for time, I'll stick to just one toilet seat but if I've got friends out there who I'm CONFIDENT know how to have GOOD CONVERSATIONS amongst themselves and don't need me to guide them or be there at all times to talk to them and ask them how they like the pancakes, I'll take a little extra time and sit on all the toilet seats, usually I'll leave in a better frame of mind and I'll often have a few notes for the manager about the temperature of all the different commodes and often I'll get asked to come back to the restaurant again or sometimes after the meal is over I'll receive a friendly handshake! OMG im surprised how good this place is, The USA locations all suck and taste like crap. However canadian Dennys locations are the real food and very good, prices arent that bad as well. So I understand it's Christmas however this place wasn't even busy and it took like 10 mins just to be seated because the lady was ignoring us then after finally being seated she didn't ask if we wanted drinks or anything just walked away another 10 mins latter she came back to take our order and then some other waitress came over and asked if we wanted anything to drink they are so unorganized it's unreal so we told this waitress we are just waiting on coffee so she then said ok and came back with it then told us hey have no cream... as I was going to say ok well can we have milk she walked away and came back with 3 little creams and walked away lol such bad service my husband and I won't ever be going there again now we're headed to the other Denny's across town hopefully it's better then this place lol merry Christmas read more

I've been here several times since they opened in Abby, and I have to say they've turned my opinion around a fair bit. I used to think of Denny's food as being greasy cardboard. Tonight, I went to Denny's after a night of catching up with some relatives. In fact, it was a special evening because we had just spent the night celebrating my cousin's birthday. We got hungry at about 1AM, so we decided to head over to this Denny's location. After our party of 7 was seated, we ordered our food and the order came in quite quickly. The waitress forgot to provide us with cutlery, and she forgot parts of our orders and even one full order entry. Brace yourselves, this is where it goes from bad to worse. While eating our meal, I noticed something funny about the colour of my brown toast, so I turned it around... EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF TOAST AT OUR TABLE WAS MOULDY! (Pictures attached). Decor is nice, menu selection is massive, pictures on the menu look fabulous and make you want everything on the menu but when you get your food it is a huge disappointment looks and taste. Nasty! We went there with the family. We're vegetarian and weren't expecting too much that in department, but the service was horrid. When my sons veggie sticks came with his kid's meal, the celery and carrots were rotten. Worse than that, there was obviously dirty dish water in the bottom of his dish and some chunks of egg floating in the bottom. No side of dip, either. When I asked the waitress what was going on, she said that this particular station was close to the dirty dishes. The Kraft dinner was hard and crispy in some places and mushy blobs in others. The cheese was chunked up and it was obvious this was microwaved. The grilled cheese was frightening. How does someone screw up a grilled cheese sandwich? The cheese was rock hard and only in the centre of the bread. I emailed head office and the manager called me. He was very apologetic. They refused to give me my money back, but offered me what I spent in credit at the restaurant. I'll never be hungry enough to eat there again. Even for free. read more

I posted one star because it would not allow me to post a negative ten stars. I have always been a firm believer in giving every restaurant a second chance. Never again will I eat at this Denny's. I ordered a sandwich featuring avacado and received one without avacado. I ordered dippable vegies on the side and received slimy, freeze dried, limp and old veggies. After waiting for fresh avacado and fresh veggies, I received a brown spotted avacado and the same bowl of veggies with a message from the manager stating that they come in that way. Wow. All this and no reduction on the bill. Disgusting food - disgusting management. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else. Don't eat here. read more

I ordered the Banana Caramel Pancakes through Skip the Dishes, and I got the "your order might take longer than usual" message which is fine. However, when I received my pancakes they were not even cooked. The dough was runny and salty and was literally pancake mixture. Thanks for making me waist 20 dollars cause I didnt bring my lunch? We have eaten at Denny's many times since it has opened and in the beginning it was good with the exception of slow service. We went yesterday morning for breakfast and I was disgusted. Getting out of my car I almost stepped in a patch of vomit. I went to the restroom, it was so dirty! The toilet was filthy, no toilet paper (so bad I wouldn't even use it). Went to wash my hands and the sink was even worst, it was covered with a thick film of dirt, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. After seeing this I glanced around at the floors and they were filthy as well. Dirt buildup in the corners and the floor hadn't been swept in awhile. The lady sitting across from us had mud under her table. My thought is if the front of the restaurant is in such need of cleaning I wonder what the kitchen looks like! I'm sure its worst!!!
