Pub steak with German potatoes. CHICKEN Schnitzel with German potatoes, red cabbage and salmon chowder.

My wife and I just relocated from California to the quaint farming community of Everson. My cousin treated me to Niemans and I enjoyed the pub steak so much that when my wife arrived a day later, I took her there as well. My 2nd time I got the schnitzel and she got the pub steak. We both loved the ambience of this restaurant. I also order the salmon chowder and the German potatoes are just excellent . The first time I had mashed potatoes with brown gravy. We enjoyed meeting Sara and getting to know her. I highly recommend This place and looking forward to grazing thru the rest of their menu!

I'm not exactly sure where to start - this place blew my mind. Friends told us we should go, and I made the executive decision to trek to Everson. Steak and schnitzel - ok, interesting, but we'll go try it? They raved and they're pretty discerning about food, so away we went. I can't believe I doubted them because service was friendly and casual, the food was seriously good, and portions were hefty. We had a steak and schnitzel (duh) and ordered a side of spaetzle because I had no idea what it was. My steak was literally perfect - cooked rare, but grilled and charred on the outside. The flavor was insane. The green beans with almonds and bacon were so good, I had to stop myself from eating them to save room for the steak. I love me some potatoes, too, and there were enough of them to take home for a breakfast or two. The schnitzel was the best I've ever had in my life - it was so tender you could cut it with a fork, but the breading was super crispy. It's hard to strike that balance! The red cabbage on the side offered a lovely contrast in taste and texture, and the béchamel sauce was so so good. The ONLY thing I would have said is that the spaetzle came out just as that - plain - and was pretty dry and could have used a sauce. While it's not the cheapest place, you get what you pay for, and I'd gladly pay for this again. Bring cash to avoid a fee, and go with a large appetite. You won't be sorry.

Jaeger Schnitzel Exceeded my expectations! Red cabbage was excellent. Spaetzle was great.Large portions. Service was excellent.

Food and service were both excellent. The ambiance is very nice and unique. The restaurant itself is unique. It's a fun place and definitely worth going to.

Have been here once before for an event that served some hors d'oeuvre. This time sat at the bar and watched a world series game on TV. Bar was somewhat high yet i didn't mind. Ordered the bar steak and it came out perfectly done, nice grill marks. When cut it open was a little underwhelmed that the steak was only warm, not hot. Steak itself was great, thick, nicely seasoned and perfectly done The potatoes were also nicely seasoned yet lacked heat, meaning they were slightly above room temperature and not really hot. Lack of hot food is what caused them to lose a star. Everything else was perfect and waitstaff was amazing, only wish food was warmer. This is unforgivable in a nice place like this.

Finally got to try Herb. Went there for my husband's birthday because we heard so much about their steak and he wanted steak for his birthday. First, the decor is definitely eccentric. Antlers hanging off the ceiling and all with that ole fashion vibe. Not sure if that is the "German" decor but I was definitely loving it. We had made reservation as stated on the website, but I don't think you need to as there were not a lot of diners this night. The only minus star I gave was because we brought our kids with us and there was really not much of an option for them to eat. My husband ordered the ribeye and he said it was cooked perfectly. I ordered the Oscar and for it being my first time, I really liked it. Kids were not a fan of their "Texas toast"? and my kid did not like the mash potatoes that she ordered nor the bbq wings. Otherwise, us adults were happy with our meal. It is a bit of a drive to dine here so more than anything we don't anticipate to drive back. The food was good, but not worth the drive or the cost to make it back. If you want a good steak, I would suggest you go to the Steak House in the Silver Reef casino. The drive is shorter and I think the steak personally is much better for the price.

Not a thin sliced veal......as one would expect a schnitzel to be.

We were excited to come back to this favorite restaurant which we have gone to for many years......but it's been awhile. We very disappointed in the quality of the food. We ordered the Weiner schnitzel. As we ate we wondered why the texture was strange and the taste was not like it used to be either. When we returned home I looked at the "veal" in good lighting. I took the substantial breading off and examined the meat. I realized what the problem was, this wasn't a slice of veal, but a "chunked and formed" piece of processed meat! It was disgusting. We don't eat processed food in general and to be served that as Weiner shnitzel in a German style restaurant is absurd. It looked as if perhaps it had been preseasoned, though I couldn't be sure. Sorry to,say the potatoes were mushy as well. The cabbage was overly sweet with no tang to them at all. The Brussels were just OK, a little overcooked as well. The service was great, but we won't likely be returning.

Okay Yelpers. If you are in the north sound get your butts up to Herb Niemann's . It's like a north woods lodge in there. They have plenty of space and a very cool back room they might use for a large party. You will not be disappointed. We went back for a second visit because I wanted a Porterhouse steak. Herb's is 18 ounces of beefy goodness. I had mine medium rare (the only way in my world) and it was fantastic. Just the right amount of char on both sides. It was easy to cut and definitely easy to eat. They put their own blend of seasoning on it (they also sell it) which boosts the flavor of the beef into the stratosphere. I decided not to buy it so it will be special when I go back. I had a double order of German potatoes which was probably over a pound by themselves. I couldn't finish them but you can bet your beef eating rear ends I finished the steak. Once again the staff was great. I think our server was the sister of the server we had last time. She was friendly and very efficient. We wanted for nothing and they are all easy to look at as well. Mrs Billy D had her Chicken Cordon Bleu which was also stellar. Next time we will ride up and take up residence in their bar and try the bar menu. I'm sure it's just as great. I'm sure glad we discovered Herb's. I'll definitely be jumping around the menu at Herb's. Everything looks great! Give Herb's a go!

While the floor is clean there are cracked tiles and the black concrete floor could use another coat of paint. Booths and seats are in good condition and tastefully appointed. Am a fan of Indian food, it being mixed with what I consider traditional pizzerias is a slight affront to what I expect. Signage outside had "bar" clearly displayed, which is also something I don't expect. Music playing seems Indian though not sure. Those aside am fairly impressed with the overall setup. When sat down they gave me a water and didn't ask for any drinks. When pizza was brought had to ask them for a soda, they gave me a fountain soda, which was flat. Take service was almost non existent, had to go to counter and ask for a box as well as pay, there was zero checking in. To their credit in a way I was only person there. Pizza on the other hand is pretty good. It lacks a little flavor from what I like, and flavor is a bit off, can't explain why, but it has all the necessary components in the right amounts. Plenty of cheese, sauce, pepperoni, and almost enough sausage, the flavor just doesn't pop. Crust is nothing special yet it's OK. While it's not a mind blowing experience will likely be back, most likely for takeout, and will stay away from their fountain soda. He said the order would be ready in 10 minutes, so we rushed over there. Unfortunately, it was a full 30 minutes from when he said that until when my order was actually ready (he did apologize for the wait). Note there is a sign that states the menu prices shown are for cash; credit card orders are charged 4% more. This is increasingly common, sometimes without advance warning. We shared two of my favorite dishes, Bhindi Masala and Bengan Bhurta (aka Baingan Bharta). Note that each entree comes with a very large serving of basmati rice. I also got an order of Tandoori Roti for each of us, which was perhaps a bit too much with all that rice. The Tandoori Roti was very well cooked, and tasty (we requested it without butter on top, as many places add it). The rice was also good. The Bengan Bhurta / Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Bharta) was too oily for me, and had too much smoke flavor. I have had it similarly prepared, but I prefer less smoky and less oily. Also, sometimes there are some nice, bigger pieces of Eggplant included, but not here (which is more common, I admit). The Bhindi Masala had a good flavor but, unfortunately, was visibly burned. There was nothing that resembled Okra remaining. It was also pretty oily, but not as much as the Eggplant Bharta. This should not have been served, IMO. 2.5*, but I rounded up to 3*, because it's great to have an Indian restaurant in Lynden. And also, they were very nice, and maybe a second try would be better.
