Sat around for 15 minutes waiting for a hostess to seat us, and no one ever came. We left and found somewhere better.

I had a very pleasant New Years eve thanks to these guys and gal. The $4 slam was good and not too much food so that I would feel guilty heading to bed an hr later. Service was awesome. This Denny's has decent food but seems to lack reliable or experienced staff. We had a server that couldn't remember our order and kept coming back numerous times to verify what we wanted. After all that, she still got it wrong. Not the greatest service. read more

We stayed at the LaQuinta inn just on the other side of the freeway. Went to Denny's 10:45 in the morning, were seated by one lady fairly promptly, took our order in a prompt amount of time. That was About let's say 10:55, and to note there were at least 2 to 3 servers, and about 3 to 4 other booth's that had 2 to 3 people per booth. It took 1/2 an hr. To get a plate of ham and egg's and a skillet, that my brother had pre-filled a form out to make it easier, skillet was wrong over cooked, and the extra side of bacon that I received, was crap...!! It was 2 pieces of the thinnest, over cooked bacon I have ever seen. So if you are ever by that Denny's ... DONT GO..!! Of you need or want to get back on the road in a timely manner. Oh by the way, the bill was $24.05..!! REALLY...??!! But I do have to say, when we told the lady cashing us out, she gave half off, then my brother mentioned, me going on Yelp she refunded the whole bill. Worse Dennys food ever. Pull the franchise quick so it doesn't continue to grease up the Dennys name. Food wasn't fresh, over cooked, greasy, terrible coffee. And I had breakfast for goodness sakes! How do you screw up breakfast this bad??!! read more

My family & I met at Denny's & food was cold & took 45 minutes to get our order. Never got our coffee refills. Our waitress never checked on us. They didn't have chicken wings & it took the waitress 20 minutes to inform us. One of my family members found hair in her burger. They messed up on orders. They are claiming they are busy but I been to busier restaurants & they always took care of their customers. I'll never come to this restaurant ever again. I do not recommend to go to no matter what. Very unsatisfactory food & service. read more

I don't know who the older lady at the front desk was, but her attitude was absolutely horrible. We got there and she was complaining about how she "wasn't cleaning off any damn tables". Several groups were waiting to be seated and when asking about a wait time she said " I'll get to it when I get to it". We finally got seated and she continued to be rude and we decided not to eat there. She responded with "well we don't need you anyways". Got to say that I wouldn't recommend at this point in time. If and when they get new appropriate staff I will consider returning. read more

Giving one star because negative stars is not an option. Lousy service, dirty floor and poorly prepared food. It took us 20 minutes to be seated only to have bad service and food, amazing because we had an order of nachos and some shakes. We have tried this Dennys 4 times and have had the same results. No more for us. We were happy to hear a Dennys was coming to North Platte as we have always enjoyed the food at other Dennys, however this particular restaurant has not been good since the day they opened. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS PLACE. Go to McDonald's across the road and save yourself some disappointment. At least you won't be expecting much from them. read more

This was absolutely terrible. The servers complained about everything under the sun, I ordered an iced tea and it tasted like water. Waited over a half hour for mediocre food. I ordered the "spicy" buffalo chicken sandwich, I think ketchup would of been more spicy than that sandwich. I would never recommend this to anyone. Very poor service was the main reason this Denny's has earned 1 star. We did go in on a bad day to be fair; there were 2 waitresses in training (seemingly working on their own) and the cook didn't show up to work that day so there was a replacement, but it should never take 20 minutes to order drinks. When we did get a waitress, however, she was trying really hard to make up for everything else. She was the only one trying, and because of that she was covering everyone's table. we were slow on refills for drinks, but I would be too if I was dealing with 10 tables of angry customers all by myself. The mug my coffee came in was dirty on the rim, but she replaced it with a clean one quickly. I don't know if the dirt was because they were understaffed, but still, Ew. There was a huge line at the register to pay and to be seated. (Apparently a manager was out sick.) I ordered a burger with a veggie patty and a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and my mom ordered the build your own chicken wraps. It took at least 50 minutes to get our food (but the soup came in about 10) and the entire time the wait staff was gossiping both at the register and in front of us. I visibly witnessed a waitress talk several customers out of eating here both before and after they were seated. I wish ours ha done that for us! You could hear yelling from the kitchen the whole meal. The soup was good, and my burger was gross and mushy. When I went up to pay, a cook had been asked to work the register which was unbelievable since they only had one cook who wasnt in training. I would never return here, and the only reason it gets 1 star is out of pity and for that one waitress. read more

If I could they would get negative stars. Took over 5 mins to be sat long time for drinks to be ordered then longer to get them when finally asked for orders took over an hour to get food and 2 of the 4 people in our groups food was cold. There were only 6 other tables in at same time. 50 mins after taking order came and told us that just ran out of cheddar potatoes what did we want instead. Checked all other tables had breakfast items no one had ordered the potatoes so no hadn't just ran out of them. Will not be going back and the website printed on receipt to complain does not exist read more

The food was prety decent but the service was really slow. I drank my sweet tea too quickly and waited for 15 minutes for a refill. The dessert was pretty okay. Not a bad place to eat on a slow snowy Nebraska day. read more

Service can be slow. There were a handful of servers but none of them or the hostess could be seen. I waited for several minutes before I was taken to my seat. A couple of waitresses would come out to take care of a couple of customers but they vanish again during the time I waited. I was seated near the kitchen and I could the servers talking back there. I don't know if they had to take care of some things but someone needs to be the designated server for the handful of customers there. After I was half way done with my meal the servers came outside from the kitchen. Now I would be asked as to how my meal was. One person seemed to be the manager came out to check also. This is why I think the manager had the servers doing something back in the kitchen. Nothing wrong with that but to have everyone back in the kitchen? The manager needs more training on customer service and allocating resources. Food was fine but I ordered spaghetti and meat balls. Hard to mess that up. This is where they earned one star more. Definitely not the greatest place to eat. I think I've eaten at a Denny's years ago so I don't really remember that experience and we don't have a Denny's back home so I can't compare it to other Denny's restaurants. I thought the food was good, but the portion sizes u receive definitely do not coincide with the cost. I know they have a "deal" menu, but there's really not much to pick from it. Anyway, after we walked in the lady went to seat us & another lady says "no...15 minutes"...there was plenty of empty seating so not sure what the deal was. Our waitress seemed flustered/irritated but did warm up a bit the longer we were there. I suspect it had something to do with co-workers/boss, but I guess I'm assuming. I feel like we spent what we would've spent at Perkins & the food would've been better with larger portions. My son's meal had the smallest sandwich (& very small amt of fries) than I've ever seen for $10+. I guess my advice would be to eat elsewhere....whether it's a different Denny's or not. read more

This experience at this Denny's was the best my wife and I have ever had for a busy Sunday (11/3/2019) We were here a little over a month ago and things were BAD! To our understanding management and 2 servers had walked out... the place was dirty as dirty can get. My wife and I stopped in of curiosity to see how things (if any have changed)??? And much to our surpise....the place was so clean, the service was amazing, the food was outstanding!! Our server Lynette was AWESOME!! She got our order correct was friendly asked if we wanted to donate to a No Kid Hungry program (which is awesome that Denny's does such a thing and the fact it stays local. We donated even though we are not local). Later the manager came out pretty sure her name tag said Lori, she filled our coffee's, took any empty plates off our table....mind you the numberous times my wife and I have been in this Denny's or any other Denny's we have never seen a manager do this!!! Lori also asked how our meal was and if there was anything else she could get for us.....REALLY what? Never have my wife and experinced this!! Awesome, to this new crew that North Platte has, we say this cause, we as truck drivers have made several stops here and see new servers on board and things changing for the best for us truck drivers! Also, something my wife pointed out that the manager said to us..... "Thank you for coming back we appreciate you, travel safely so you can come and see us again!! That was the most amazing thing said to truck driver's EVER...travel safely so you can come see us again.....shows they care!! So, this being said Dear Corporate, the North Platte Denny's is rocking better than most Denny's I have been in. I don't care about your labor cost, I care about my service! Sometimes, Corporate USA needs to learn that cost of labor really hurts your customer service!! My wife and I know this cause, we both were in the food service business before stepping out as on the road truck drivers to make more money! My wife and I also want to thank Denny's as a whole for the 10% driver discount! Let those in North Platte know some how some way that they are doing what needs to be done to take care of us OTR drivers! read more

HORRIBLE! Horrible! Lots of staff, lots of YELLING! But no service to customers. No kids menus, Then wrong drink orders were brought out...... The restaurant wasn't busy at all, didn't look short staffed..... Horrible. Would rather go across the street to McDonalds next time! And I hate McDonald's! If I could give no stars I would. I stopped here for lunch a little after noon on Friday, August 8, thinking that a restaurant in a truckstop would be aware of a travelers need to eat quickly and get back on the road. And unsmiling hostess simply asked how many in the party, table or booth and seated us a booth near the back corner, saying that our server would be with us soon. I estimate the dining room was perhaps one third full. No server ever made eye contact nor spoke to us. The hostess paid no attention to the fact that we had not even placed our order. After 20 minutes we chose to leave. The hostess seemed unconcerned. I asked to speak to the manager on duty. I waited for a few minutes and the manager explained that she only had two cooks in the kitchen. I'm not sure what that had to do with anything as we hadn't even been able to place our order!She did offer to prepare food for us to go but at that point I was unwilling to wait even longer, especially knowing the kitchen we're shorthanded . There was a sign posted with the name of the general manager. I took note of the number, leaving a message in an unidentified voice mailbox for her several days later. That was a voice mail number that did not even identify who I had reached. 24 hours later I left a second message. This time my call was returned promptly. This manager was very apologetic and concerned and promised that she would speak with the hostess and call me back after the weekend. I am sorry to say she never followed through on that either. I wish there was something I could do other than leave this negative review but this was a horrible customer service experience! read more
