There was so much grease that it saturated a large dinner napkin and there was still more on my plate. I was never asked if it was ok to substitute the meat. This is my first review, and my visit to Denny's in Saint George was disappointing. The new fried fish was disappointing. It tasted like it had been cooked in old grease, arrived greasy and burnt, and was not as good as frozen fish from the grocery store. Tartar and cocktail sauce were unavailable. My companion's breakfast slam was mixed: the eggs, bacon, and sausage were good, but the pancakes had black specks from an uncleaned grill. The side salad was the highlight. The lettuce and cucumbers were fresh, the ranch was flavorful, and the tomatoes tasted fine, though they seemed previously frozen. After a 45-minute wait, we were told they were out of onion rings and asked to choose another side. The host and servers were friendly and courteous, but seemed stressed by the kitchen delays. Kristen took our order and brought drinks promptly, while the manager helped on the grill. I had not visited in over two years, and after this experience, I do not plan to return. read more

What a disaster. We left Beaufort early and didn't want Hampton Inn breakfast so we decided to get something quick on the road off I-95. Needless to say, if you're familiar with the area, there isn't much to choose from off I-95 between the Georgia state line and Florence. We did see this Denny's and decided to give it a try. It's right next door to a Pilot Travel Center. Typical Denny's decorations. Bad idea coming here. We waited over forty minutes because the cooks decided to prioritize a table of eleven over everyone else in the restaurant. We saw at least one table walk out. When the food finally made it to the table, my wife's French Toast was barely warm and the grits I ordered with my omelette was replaced with dry hash browns. Also, my omelette was somewhat dry. Would be a one star review but the extra star is for the nice server and hostess. Definitely don't recommend. read more

I stopped by here on the way down to Florida to have a bite to eat and to charge my almost-dead phone. The hostess was very gracious and offered to seat me either at a table near an outlet or at the bar (which is full of outlets). I opted for the bar. The entire staff was friendly and got me my food and cold brew quickly. I ordered the Bourbon Chicken Sizzlin' Skillet. The chef, whom I could see behind the counter and whose name is apparently TJ, was AWESOME. The food was delicious and exactly what I needed! About 2 in the afternoon. Perhaps 4 couples in the restaurant. Sister and I were seated, given menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Not being a coke drinker, we chose 1/2 and 1/2 tea. (1/2 sweet, 1/2 non sweet). The tea was NOT half and half, but totally unsweetened. A server came by and said she would be our server. We waited over 1/2 hour and still no server came to take our order, Since we were very hungry, we decided to leave, as apparently our server was too busy playing on her phone to pay attention to potential diners. Sad experience just now....we always pick Dennys for breakfast when traveling....took an hour to get our food...eggs were very undercooked...( we ordered medium and over easy) ...which were replaced within a few minutes..the toast was not toast ..it was basically bread with liquid margarine....( we asked for dry toast with butter on the side) hubby asked for wheat ...got white...no biggy but service was super slow....clearly not enough help and was told a manager was the cook in the kitchen ....definitely needed more cooks, and more help period! This however qualities really good I came in order to French toast slam it was very good French toast was delicious I asked for the eggs to be soft scrambled they were nice soft ands fluffy. I opted to go with all bacon. Waitress was very nice I had no trouble at all. They seem to have this one getting back a line on track as far as the day and the afternoon the night shift that's a different story I'm not really too sure I can't review it cuz I wasn't there. I don't even know where to start. First off, the server for our table was extremely nice, spoke is a nice tone and understood my non-English step-father very well. It's also really sweet that she brought goldfish for my brother while his food was being made. The drinks came out fast and I mean short-time getting the drinks for our table and the server was fast - more like running to our table WITHOUT spilling anything. I can't recommend this Denny's. We were ignored upon arrival, except by the manager heading on break. She wished us a Happy Valentine's Day. We left but after realizing the next Denny's location was 90 miles away, we reluctantly returned. This time, we were seated quickly, but the food took forever. I read all the previous reviews and I was shocked. They were all horrible but thankfully we had a completely different experience. We were seated immediately. They were short staffed but our server and the hostess were both hustling. We ordered the appetizer sampler and it tasted fresh and was hot (unlike the previous reviews of food coming out cold). . Our server (Reagan) was on point. She passed by several times to ask how our food was and to refill the water. I also ordered a super bird sandwich and it was good. Truthfully, I'm not a huge Dennys fan (the food is a bit too greasy for me) but since it was late and we were passing by we fueled up and ate without being too far from the highway. All in all the experience was pleasant and we're glad we gave it a shot. Small town business close early on Sundays so we're happy we could give our business to this establishment. read more

How smart do you have to be to call a friend and ask them to get you a few gallons of OJ from the supermarket? The hash browns would have been okay if they were not served cold. Start with I was seated and told the cook put a hold on orders. As I waited to have my order taken I noticed the cook wasn't doing anything. No clue why the hold. Other people ordered things that should have been in the kitchen yet the cook said no they didn't have it, like soup. This is on a Tuesday at 1:30pm. The staff isn't really working just hanging around talking to each other. If I wanted poor service I would had gone to huddle house but I'm a truck driver and this Denny's is in a Flying J truck stop. So as a driver I'm not given much choice to go somewhere else. Stopped here on a road trip. Was sat fairly quickly. I ordered chicken fried steak with eggs over easy and a side of pancakes. After about 15 minutes, I received my hashbrowns and well over cooked eggs. After about five minutes, I then received my country fried steak on a separate plate. Although I asked for the gravy on the side, I received it another five minutes after the steak. The gravy looked and tasted like the bag was empty and they used the rinse water. The table next to us talked to what I assumed to be the manager, and they had left because they had not had their order taken for over a half an hour they only received their drinks. Food was not good at all, the tables and silverware, and the ambience of the place could use a good cleaning, and the food service needs to become more efficient. Beware! horrible service. Half of our family did not receive their food and the lady gave us so much attitude trying to blame it on us when they did not bring the food. Trying to keep Covid in mind, this is a busy truck stop location off a busy highway. I expected to wait a little; but this was awful. Pictured is the bbq battered, chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato and onion and a side of fries I ordered off the menu. I kinda looked at it when the waitress dropped it and she even said, well, it's not right but are you ok with it? Uh... NO. I waited 45 minutes for this mess. I can't say I appreciate this place one bit. Our bill was $54.18... we ordered a small amount of food. The plate with my eggs and has browns had black hair around the rim. I thought it may be a mistake so I removed it. I looked further to see more of that same hair all around the plate so I showed my service Cindy R. She got an attitude telling me if from the grill. So I asked why would the grill have hair on it? She cut me off and said I'll just remake it. Then walked off. I also placed a to go order without meat but with hash browns. She gave it to me with meat without hash browns. When I told her she opened it with her hands and said ok I'll fix it. She didn't close the cover and walked over to start talking to other customers. So I told her to close those top! I would've appreciated a sharper appearance as well.
