It's personal preference, I like my steak with just salt and pepper without sauce. My fault for not reading the menu correctly. The sides of purée and veggies were great. Overall KB hits it out of the ballpark and is so much better than the chain upscale eateries.

The sauce was very tasty and had a nice kick of heat to finish. Catfish was good and the shrimp stuffing was more like a meat ball texture and not really whole shrimp like I thought. Service was very good. Our waitress was chatty and was joking around with us which was fun. Ambiance is more on the rustic side almost had a saloon feel, partly because of the old building but it was quaint. There was plenty of free parking in the rear which was convenient. All in KB is a good option if you are looking for an above average restaurant in the east end.

I tend to prefer to sit in the bar area as it always seems more lively. This time, we came in to grab some drinks and grubs before catching a movie at the Landmark Cinema (my favorite theatre in Durham region). We sat at the bar and ordered the usual bar fare with a few pints of non-American beer. Their pan bread is a guilty pleasure with soft, pan baked bread sitting in a delicious mix of garlic butter, some herbs and grated parm. Yum! Their wings were on the small side but fried well with the accompanying dipping sauces (med Buffalo and ranch for the veggie sticks). It was exactly what you would expect. The bar staff were jovial and efficient and we had a great pre-movie dinner. We'll likely to continue coming here for the convenience of location and standard bar experience.

The oysters were also fresh and came with salsa and horse radish topping to choose from. The calamari, while good, was overshadowed by the others. It was meant to have a cajun taste, but I did not get that flavouring coming through, but it was still a good app regardless. For the drinks, the lychee martini seemed to be a favourite given the amount of alcohol while the cosmo seemed light on it. So if you're looking for a martini with a fruity kick, I'd recommend going to the lychee martini. The coffee one tasted more like coffee, but it may have been masking the amount of alcohol based on its strong flavor. For the mains, all three were excellent. The seafood di mare is very decadent and heavy. After eating so many appetizers, I barely had any bites, but it did make for some great leftovers.

Parking is around this business hub and there rarely seems to be a shortage of it. I have been to this area twice. The first time was several years ago when Wild Burger was still kicking around. I had the best bison burger with duck fat fries at this joint. I was sad to hear that it had closed. I recently came to pick up a takeout order from Smash Kitchen and Bar, which has recently set up shop here. It's nice to see it branch out from Markham. This area has Landmark Theatre, Goodlife Fitness, Wild Wings, Hollywood Cone, and more. There are a handful of empty business stores, so it feels like there is some turnover. It's a decent area to hang out. I liked looking at this shiny silver ball and seeing what I look like as a one-foot individual. There is also a passenger pickup-dropoff area. I didn't see anyone using it when I was briefly there, but it's a nice touch. I need to check this area out again soon. I haven't been to Hollywood Cone since it moved to this new location. While most of these restaurants are well established chains, there are quite a few vacant locations and even a couple of closures since my last visit here. Although I like the concept of having everything in one location, I'm not sure if Whitby is the right location for it. Its success could depend on the success of the nearby GM factory. Years ago, I worked in the nearby Oshawa Centre during a time when GM was on strike. The mall was filled with people, presumably striking workers, but nobody was buying anything. That's a fact! If you live in Durham Region, check out this place and give these businesses your support. There are more than enough places to choose from, for all ages!

My bf had a hard enough time trying to get a beer that wasn't flat, I didn't bother telling them they gave me the wrong beer. The basic foods are good, but there's nothing made in house. I asked about a few dishes that are my 'go-to'; the server was honest and admitted they were not made in house. Blah. The service was ok, but it's been practically empty every time I've been there. That location must be cursed, nothing there seems to last.

But the presentation was not impressive. Beer menu is limited. We concluded that, their weekend happy hour is a good idea. We are here around 3pm and the place was busy! We went last evening to the Milestones location in Whitby…read more Usually it's okay for service but tonight was terrible Where to start Me and my best friend had ordered Cauliflower bites ....we chose the Korean BBQ flavoured bites We also ordered drinks prior to ordering the food and we had to remind the waitress to bring our drinks after she only brought water When our appy came it was the wrong flavour....it was Cauliflower Parmesan bites which we did try but the flavour was horrible so we sent it back and asked for our original order The food came before we received our appy When we got the appy, the bites were drenched in the Korean bbq sauce and were inedible so we sent those back Additionally with my meal that I ordered....a sweet chili chicken bowl....the chicken was clumped together and definitely inedible We also noticed our waitress was spending a lot of time at the table behind us and rarely checked on us....even though it was not busy Our waitress did not ask if we wanted another appy option or to be comped from our bill When our bill arrived the cauliflower bites were on the bill but I didn't look at the bill and paid as the waitress was standing there waiting for me to pay I needed change so when she brought back the change she didn't bring back the bill to see if the bites were removed so I asked her to bring the bill back She brought the bill back and left We decided to go to the hostess on our way out to ask for our money back for the appy we never ate She got her manager and her manager took care of this which was appreciated This is definitely disappointing as this was the worst service we have had at a Milestones location and I likely will not come back here
