Famous Burger Combo
Lim T.

Best Fish Burger Ever!! Just had a quick lunch here today. Service was very welcoming. Good selection of all day breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, etc. Prices were reasonable. We got the "Famous Burger" and "Fish Burger". The beef patty on the famous burger was huge! My husband thought it was just okay. I had the fish burger which was really good and love the slaw that went with it. If we feel like diner food, this is definitely the place that we would consider coming back to.

loved this diner! great place to catch up with friends, service was GREAT! Our server was an absolute delight, and the food was also so good! No complaints!

Spinach and feta omelette

I didn't know Wimpy's did breakfast, so decided to go there with friends a few days ago. I really love the classic 50s vibe to the diner. Very old school and classic. They have a full all day breakfast menus with specials if you come before 9 (or 10 - I don't remember). The also have classic diner food like burgers and fries. I decided on a spinach and feta omelette. Visually it looked pretty good and came with home fries and toast (of your choice out of white, wheat, or rye). The flavours were pretty good, but the home fries, and quite possibly the omelette too, were heavily fried in canola oil. It's a diner, so I am not sure what to expect. The prices are pretty cheap which is good. In all, Wimpy's offers classic diner fare and gives an old school vibe. I'll probably return for a milkshake and fries at some point.

Blueberry pancakes with ham

I crave pancakes every now and then. I also tend to crave then late in the day, meaning that I need to find an all-day breakfast place. Wimpy's fixes all my first-world pancake needs! I ordered three blueberry pancakes with a side order of ham. For the record, I tend to do pork sausages, but changed it up a bit. Everything was yummy. My pancakes were done perfectly. I also got to hoard the bottle of maple syrup for a bit. I like Wimpy's. The music suits my style, as I can listen to 80's music until everyone around me gets sick! The servers here are always nice. It's comfy. Free wifi is wonderful, too. Otherwise, I wouldn't be posting this review so quickly! There's plenty of parking, as the diner is at the north war corner of Elgin Mills and Bayview. If you'd like a quiet place to eat, this diner is for you. There is actually a guy doing work in a booth while he chows down. I don't recommend doing work when you are hungry, but it's an ideal work setting than a loud coffee shop, for instance.

I go to Wimpy's, any location, for their all day breakfast and original burger. That and the services. I have never been to a Wimpy's where the services are not effective, efficient and super friendly. This location far north on Elgin Mills is no different. The portion of the original burger ($8) was crazy large, as well as the onion rings combo ($4). The burger was good, not gourmet, just the way it had always been. The fried onion rings were *excellent*. I ordered a junior (kid) burger ($6) for mom. The junior came with patty and bun that were just a hint smaller than the original burger. I probably should have ordered it instead. Coffee was good enough and bottomless. Waitress refilled our cups on request. I recommend Wimpy's as a reasonably priced, neighborhood diner, especially for breakfast and burger, and good services.

The sign of a great brunch is an empty plate. Mine was licked clean. Although you can get bacon and eggs anywhere, this place has a great relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

I really dont need to get into detail here. Definitely one of my favourite breakfasts at a restaururant. I ordered the pancake combo and everything tasted perfect! The coffee was incredible too. I must have had 4 cups because I couldn't believe it! I definitely want to return for breakfast soon.

Brunch rocks!!! And brunch at Wimpy's Diner rocks too!!! I ordered the latest addition to the breakfast menu, the corn-beef hash combo. And boy did it hit the spot! Be sure you bring your appetite when you go to Wimpy's. On top of the generous serving of corn-beef hash came an abundant amount of potato rounds (alternative to home fries), 3 eggs and 2 pieces of toast. The 50's & 60's decor gives you that true old school diner experience. The friendly staff made sure our coffee cups were bottomless and their clever wit made our experience even more memorable. Simply unbelievable value for the price point. I would have rated this location a 5, but my toast was overly buttered and our fruit was stale. Therefore a solid 4 it is!

My small 6 oz burger with fries egg and cheese, with my boyfriend's wimpy's famous 10 oz burger with bacon, cheese, and a fried egg
Noor B.

First off, let me start by saying that I absolutely love this place. This may come off as biased but they have given me no reason not to. I've been here on several occasions with my boyfriend for a late night burger, and their burgers never disappoint! I usually get their "small" classic cheeseburger (6 oz, ergo "small"), while my boyfriend orders their famous 10 oz burger. It's absolutely incredible how huge their parties are. Full toppings include all the veggies you could possibly need, with mustard, ketchup, mayo, bbq sauce, and relish offered as condiments. You could add a fried egg to your burger for an extra dollar or so (highly recommend!), along with cheese, bacon, onion, and mushroom (just what I could think of off the top of my head). Honestly a great experience, the staff is always friendly and the service is exceptionally quick. Be sure to order their Oreo milkshake as it's exactly what a milkshake should be: thick, creamy, and delicious! The interior decoration is fun and the facilities are clean, albeit a bit outdated. TLDR; 10/10 highly recommend get their famous 10 oz burger if you're hungry (+ egg, cheese, bacon) and their Oreo milkshake for a classical diner experience!

Had a burger, fries and a coke for $15.00. Burger was nothing to write home about. Way over priced. Won't be going back there again.

Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.

Home style food well prepared. Lots of variety in the menu....Staff are good people too.read more

I love the look of an old school diner. The only negative was when we had bacon it tasted very soapy which we realized later. Maybe someone that was handling it didn't wash off the soap on their hands? Not sure but was not edible. The eggs Benedict eggs could be a little more runny. But their sausage is the absolute best. I remember passing by Bunchberry Diner a few months back. I had never been there. It was time to check it out. This diner used to be Mercury Diner. It's nice that the diner tradition continues here. There was plenty of parking when I got here at 3 pm. I backed into a parking spot and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a female staffer. She asked if I was picking up takeout. Nope, I wanted the dine-in experience. She led me to a booth, which was comfortable. There were so many items on the menu that I wanted to try. This place serves breakfast till 4 pm. My server was Parmida, who was sweet and competent. I ordered these items: - Chef's morning breakfast - Diet Coke The Diet Coke was fizzy and cold. I got drink refills. It was perfect. For the chef's morning breakfast, I got my eggs over-easy. I chose sausage links and whole wheat toast. It came with home fries. I got peanut butter, jelly, and jam in preparation for my meal. It didn't take long for my food to arrive. The weird thing was that this table did not have any ketchup, but all tables around me had a bottle. I had to wait a bit for Parmida to return, so I could ask for ketchup. She apologized. She told me that she normally doesn't work this side of the diner. She immediately went to fetch a bottle of French's ketchup. Yep, this diner supports Canadian. I loved my over-easy eggs. I got three perfectly runny eggs. I smeared raspberry jam on my toast and sopped up the yolky goodness with it. I got three sausage links. They were yummy. I liked having them with ketchup. The home fries were the perfect portion. They were crispy and delicious, especially with ketchup. Prices are decent here for the portions that you get. My meal was $20 after taxes. You have the option of paying with a QR code on the bill or using the payment machine. I went with the latter and tipped with my credit card. I used the washroom before I left. It's on the right side of the eatery when you walk in. It was clean. No issues. I saw the dessert display before I left. This section was closed for dining. The desserts on plates rotated in this display. It was cool to see. It was great dining here. I'm return for more good eats. (252)

The duck tasted ok, but the flavour was a little mild (and I have a very simple palate). It was ok. The skin was excellent though! The YC fried was huge. Overall good taste, but the BBQ pork was a tad too sweet for me. I prefer Auric King's BBQ pork instead. The guy server was super nice and attentive. He asked for feedback and suggestions. We suggested an "all day meal" menu like the traditional hk cafe. The vibe is very 80s Hong Kong style. Very aesthetic, like Garden Cafe, who also does the same style. Check out my interior pics to see! Tables and bowls are a little sticky though lol. Overall, I might come back when they have an all day menu. I see most people ordering noodles, probably because the portions aren't as massive. As of right now, they have the white menu for non members, which is BOGO half off. Also, $30 for lifetime VIP.
