Wow was I impressed with the Denoyer Brothers Moving Company! I asked my Coldwell Banker Schmidt real estate agent, Bart Ford who he would recommend for a local move within Traverse City. His said he used Denoyer Brothers for his own move and that was more than enough for me. I went to their website and requested a moving quote and within a few hours, Greg called and we setup a visit at our home. At my appointment, Greg, my wife Jackie and I went room to room, floor from floor, outside deck/patio and storage shed. We also told him that we have a few heavy items in a local storage facility. Soon afterwards, I got my estimate from Greg and signed the contract for that move. A day or two before our scheduled pack-out, Greg called to confirm the time of their team showing up at the house. That five-man team was led by Tony and what a great team they were! They took great care of all our items and took extra care with our floors, stairs, and walls. We went to the storage facility, picked up three items and then were off to our new house. The same care was presented when they delivered and placed our items throughout the home. The worst moving experience that I've had, I don't recommend this company to anyone. The kids (teenagers? early 20 somethings?)they sent to move us, while nice enough, were careless and ended up breaking a number of my items based on how they carried them out of the house. They literally hadn't moved a dresser out the bedroom before they pried it apart in to pieces. Meanwhile, I've moved it several times myself without issue... I also paid them to package a number of more fragile items, like lamps, that ended up breaking based on how they wrapped, boxed, unloaded and stacked it in to a storage unit. I purchased insurance to help offset any potential damages during the move. But, the company gave me little to no direction on how to file a claim, other than sending me a blank form only AFTER I requested it even though they knew they had already broken things when loading the truck. They knew I was moving in to a storage unit, but didn't tell me that my claim would need to be filed before I moved it again. So somehow, I'm expected to sort through each box in a storage unit to be able to file a claim. But of course, that is not realistic before moving again, at which point they absolve themselves of responsibility for damage. By the time I had my things moved in to my home and unpacked everything, I file a claim when I've evaluated my property. After several weeks of no communication, I had to call and email the owner Steve for an update. He finally emails me to say they were denying my entire claim because it had been moved by someone else since they touched it. Okay, I can understand that -- I can't prove they broke the other stuff because it was moved again by another company (which I watched diligently handle every item with care). But, here's my REAL problem: Steve Denoyer (owner) was rude and completely dismissive. He could have been apologetic and understanding about the situation; a little grace and understanding would have gone a long way. But, instead he was defensive and arrogant. And in regards to the items his workers damaged and broke in my presence? Apparently, that is was the inherent risk of moving. I'm not even that mad about my stuff being broken, I'm more upset about how the whole process was handled. So, in summary, I have no confidence in this company at all from the owner all the way down. I can't recommend their business at all based on how the employees handled my property, and how the owner handles customer concerns. read more

These guy... They are the best! Such a friendly crew. They work hard, efficient, and with a smile. So easy to work with. They picked up our furniture, stored it, and delivered it to our new home. Everything was clean, in tact and delivered without a scratch. We forgot a piece because we sent a few things back for a longer storage. DO not use this mover! Damaged pictures, pictures frames, you might find your dishes packaged with your garden shovel. Absolutely the worst. Nothing is packed together, found our dishes is 4 different boxes. Maybe 50% of the boxes marked or labeled. On a scale of 1-10, -25! read more

When I used Denoyer Brothers Movers-affiliated co in the past, they've done a great job overall e.g. arrived on time as discussed. However, this time around, I've specifically request for an 8AM move, somehow I received a message midday the day prior to the move, that the movers won't be able to come by at 8AM, but instead later in the AM, while they have another "small" move to do at 8, and the rep stated he'll give me a call on an update. When 10:35 AM came around, I haven't heard back and I reached out to him to follow up. He had to call me back and stated the movers will be arriving 40+ mins later. If the rep was UPFRONT AND HONEST with me on their availability, I'd have planned accordingly, went to work a few hours instead of waiting, and the unknown of what time they'll be done. read more

Don't use Denoyer Bros. I want to warn you that they are not ethical in charging. They never told me that it was 125.00 just to drive to the house; when I questioned this, they said this was standard practice and I should have known. Then the two man crew went down to one man when one guy got injured. However, my bill was much higher than they quoted, as it reflected two men working for a longer time than was actually true. Finally, items were damaged in the move. The moving company on the other end of the move said that the original movers piled heavy boxes on light ones, causing damage. When I tried to claim damages, I learned they take no responsibility for the quality of their work. Lots of cat and mouse games. Avoid them. read more

Final Denoyer Review for Posting 6-14-19 Worst Move Ever Broken Promises, not to mention my possessions! Denoyer Brothers Moving and Storage Company failed on many levels to uphold their end of the contract this past May 2019 and has since failed to remedy my loss. After meeting with multiple moving companies in the Traverse City area I chose to go with Denoyer Brothers Moving and Storage. They came highly recommended by my Realtor and several other people in the community. I was put at ease after meeting with Denoyer that my moving needs would be handled with care and professionalism; these were the main factors in my decision, as I could of gone with another company at a reduced rate, but I choose the company which I thought would do the best job regardless of price. This move was going to be stressful and I wanted this part to be handled by true professionals. I met with a Denoyer representative, signed multiple pages in a detailed contract that was very specific to my needs and was told that all would be taken care of. The day of the move started horribly when Gabe, the driver, was rude and disrespectful of myself, my daughter, and my possessions. Two antique cloth living room chairs were not shrink- wrapped or protected as Gabe instructed his packers to conserve on shrink wrap. After breaking a glass globe off of an antique art piece, he handed it to me and said rudely, "here, you can glue this back on." Boxes were clearly marked so they could be brought in and placed in the appropriate rooms so unpacking would be manageable, I paid for this service... but Gabe encouraged his crew to put boxes anywhere, even though the boxes were marked for designated rooms. He was rude to his crew and told them they were slow. He didn't want to be there anymore on a Friday afternoon, and so they just unloaded without care for where things were put and then they left. Denoyer Brothers were quite aware of my physical limitations and the expectation was for me not to be left with problems. Boxes with important documents and medications were found two weeks after the move underneath two heavy boxes of books; it was marked but they had ignored it. A ceramic lamp was put in the bottom of a large box with one thin sheet of paper over it and they threw books and binders on top of it, and yet plastic bowls were wrapped in six sheets of paper and secured with strapping tape. The microwave oven in its box was put at the bottom of a pile of heavy boxes in the storage unit. Who doesn't know a microwave goes in a kitchen... I hired a mover in my new city to help me untangle the mess Denoyer made, and he said it was the worst move he had ever seen. Steve Denoyer, owner, did not acknowledge the seriousness of this situation. Denoyer does not stand by their promise to provide a professional move experience and I certainly should not have to hire a second mover to help untangle the mess they left me with. Denoyer Brothers should have offered up a partial refund and or at the very least sent out a representative to try and mitigate the damages. Did I get moved? Yes. Did I get moved the way I expected and paid for? NO. Did Denoyer take any responsibility for not doing what they contracted to do? NO. Would I use them again or recommend them? My boyfriend recently got out of the military in February of this year. He had no choice but to go with "Gallott and Sons Transfer and Storage Inc." in Mississippi. Once we received our items as soon as we got our own place through Denoyer Brothers, some items were damaged. Also, we are missing half our sectional couch, dressers, patio furniture, all the pieces to put our kids beds together and so on. Now, the 2 gentlemen from this company were SO kind and helpful, so thank you! But waiting another 5 days for our other items because of lack of communication through your company is ridiculous. Idk who all is to blame, but not happy with either company. Do not recommend. read more
