The Densetsu roll is golden. The sweet onion crunchies that were on top melted in my mouth. The Pinky promise roll was very flavorful and light. After trying these two delicious rolls, I feel confident that there isn't anything on the sushi menu I would be disappointed in. Serve a pickled radish along with the wasabi and ginger. Densetsu is absolutely the best place to go for someone who does not enjoy raw sushi. Have a date, girlfriend, husband, or friend that loves sushi and keeps trying to drag you somewhere? Suggest Densetsu. They've got a gigantic menu full of options. Not only do they have plenty of standard Japanese fare to appease even the simplest of palettes...they've got over a page full of delicious baked rolls to choose from. I can't eat raw...I just can't. Usually I have to search through the menu to find the 2 or three cucumber filled cooked options that are quite bland. Not here. Here I've got TONS of choices...so many that I need to go back and try other ones! My favorite is the Lone Star Roll. It's a deep fried and baked roll filled with baby lobster, crab, cream cheese, and avocado. There's no seaweed in this one either which I know some folks aren't a fan of. How much more perfect can a roll for a non-sushi lover get? They've got lots of other tasty sounding options for someone like me and of course pages of traditional options for the sushi aficionados to try. It's in a strip mall and is quite small but I've never had an issue getting a table, even at night. read more

Now, sushi bento boxes are rarely cheap, but some places often skimp on the servings. I was impressed with how plentiful the meat was for the nigiri sushi as well the spicy tuna roll. Mackerel sushi is one of my metrics for a good sushi place. I had an order and it was very good. So, giving them an extra star. The Superman Burrito Roll was different! It was literally like a burrito but with rice. I loved the Red Mountain because of the salmon of course! I love Suzushii which is my favorite sushi place in Mansfield, but this place is head to head with how their sushi rolls are made. The rice isn't dried out. Hmm.. Texas yelpers have led me astray once again. I wonder if the water here alters peoples taste buds. The staff was wonderful and it was a cozy place but the food was not good. We ordered the spicy salmon roll, the yellowtail roll, and red mountain specialty roll (I don't remember if that's the right name, I may have made it up but its something along those lines). The rolls are so large that I could hardly fit them into my pretty large mouth. Same for the hubs. We definitely could not fit the specialty roll in our mouths and had to take bites which is obviously super obnoxious with sushi. The yellowtail had a terrible taste, super fishy (FISHY FISHAAAY). The other two were fine, at best. Not sure how this place got such rave reviews but Sushi Robata 10 mins away is wayyy better. read more

Had a yellowtail sushi with tempura and Godzilla roll (my friend ordered it). Sushi was ok. As for Godzilla roll, it had too much of unnecessary sauces and favors, they mask the sushi. Rice was a bit hard. Tempura was pretty good. Drinks seem expensive. As I was not impressed with sushi, didn't bother to order the drinks, except for green tea, which by the way, was rather bright green than green tea. Service was..... Interesting. It started off bad as the reservation was placed, we had to wait for 40minutes just to sit separately. And to make up for it, the waitress offered us two free appetizers...and later charged us for those. When we asked for the two appetizers (fried tofu with fish flakes and fish - I didn't taste them) to be removed, she said, those two are "ordered" appetizers, and that she brought us edomame and veggie tempura on the house, which SHE chose for us. A bowl of edomame and a plate of veggie tempura to apologize 11 people for the wait, separation of the party, and all the rumbles of moving the tables? Which were not even our choice? Thankfully a Sr. server came and took them out from the check. During dining, sushi that I ordered came on the same plate as someone from the other table has ordered. The server, without apologizing, asked me to take my portion from the plate to my personal plate. Tea and water had to be ask to be refilled. My two friends were waiting for their personal plates which were asked on the time of the ordered and didn't get even after the main dishes arrived. I'm not so sure if giving them a second chance of visit is worth it. I was going to order some takeouts, but after tasting the food and the service, I chose not to. Was ok but not much more. Had the Chirashi and it was not one of the better I have had. Tea was cold; hard to get refills on the tea, and when I finally got a refill it was cold too. Salad didn't come across as particularly authentic, and seemed more like a salad mix out of a bag with a few huge pieces of tomato and cucumber on top, and a dressing that wasn't very Japanese or good. Chirashi was not very nicely presented on a regular plate; uninspired. A few too thick and not very tender pieces of fish. No wasabi. All in all, not very spectacular or Japanese. This is a great place to grab a reasonably priced and delicious lunch! I can't believe I was able to get a black cod bento box for only $10.95. And the fish I got in my bento box was a pretty nice size -- not too small where you wonder what exactly it is you're paying for. Now keep in mind that the taste wasn't up to par with black cod from Nobu but hey, it's a fraction of the price and it is a lunch entree after all. Also, as others have mentioned, great and fresh sushi and sashimi. I can't ever go here without getting an order of sashimi. Oh. My gosh. Prepare yourself for the BIGGEST sushi rolls you will ever eat. They are so big that they are pretty much guaranteed to fall apart, and it's quite difficult to even pick them up with chopsticks and even stuff a piece in your mouth. For around $10-$15 a roll, you are getting a good deal because one roll is enough to feed a person. Sounds crazy right? And the best part is that they don't skimp out on the fish too. Their fish slices are humongous and of really great quality! I could say what I got, but honestly, I'm sure anything you get here would turn out good. I've only tried their sushi rolls, but I feel like that's enough of a reason to come here. They have an incredibly large selection of sushi rolls including your classics, your chef special rolls, baked rolls, and tempura rolls. We decided on 3 items: the Popcorn Lobster Roll, the Densetsu Roll, and the Dynamite Roll. I can see this restaurant figured out that you can get away with increasing the size of each entree by about 1.5 and upcharge $4. I'm not blaming them though, you do what you can get away with, right? To me, a bit too much food for 2 people with 3 entrees since I we were expecting sushi to come in small portions. First with the pros: I will give my server an A+. He was very attentive and always asking if I liked the food. Ambiance - A. It was 2 HUGE mounds of rice. I ended up getting one of their specialty rolls - but like all the specialty rolls, its was huge. There was so much rice, I had to scrape it off. But the spicy tuna in that roll was pretty good. There was assorted fish on top - which was OK. I am one that can usually throw down on the sushi but I could not finish 1 roll because it was so HUGE. I thought I would treat myself to a "little" dessert even though I was massively full. The server recommended the tempura ice cream but he said it was very big. So I opted for the red bean ice cream. Normally when I have gone to a japanese restaurant, I get a small scoop. When he came out with a huge bowl with chocolate sauce, whip cream, and a cherry on top, I was in shock. Just came back from my third visit here - a hit every single time! My first time there was on Mother's Day, and they treated my entire family extremely well and we had a great experience. The service here is stellar, you can really tell they care about the experience as much as the food. The food - WOW. My sister and I are hard to please when it comes to Japanese food, but they've certainly won us over. The fish is extremely fresh, and they sure don't skimp on anything when it comes to the portions. My boyfriend rarely raves about food, and he was completely amazed with their volcano rolls that he is now thinking about setting up a Yelp account just so he can review this place. I came here for lunch on Tuesday and the place was packed. I ordered a bento special. Presentation was nice but the food was just decent. Salad had a bit too much soy sauce for my taste. It would be better to come up with dressing that is a bit lighter and sweeter. Fried shrimps and vegetables weren't soggy but they weren't crispy neither. For about $10, I got a bowl of miso soup, salad, fried shrimps and vegetables, rice and 2 dumplings(gyoza?). There may have been more but I can't remember. For dessert, a half of orange was served. As other reviewers mentioned, place is small and tables are close. So the noise level is pretty high. And few places were quite cold due to fans blowing ACs too hard. I haven't been this pleased with a sushi bar in a long time. Where to start. Well, this place is small, but it's got a lot of personality and atmosphere, starting with the staff, who will greet you VERY ANIMATEDLY! upon entering. My party and I sat at the sushi bar, and it was a blast seeing the sushi chefs making the various rolls and towers of sushi. There was a lot of variety to choose from on the menu, and a lot of different and unique rolls! They even have tempura fried rolls (as in, the entire roll is coated and fried tempura style!) which looked delicious. I got the Sunset Roll, which was pretty big - tuna, spicy tuna, and tempura shrimp rolled up inside, with eel and avocado on top of the rice, and some shredded red and orange carrot on top of that as a garnish. Delicious! My husband had chicken teriyaki, which was very good and tender, too, so there are options if sushi isn't your thing. read more

What a great find, William L. and Yelp! :) I was a little hesitant at first to try out this place, because strip-mall sushi is either hit or miss. But I ended up really liking this place. Really quaint, understated place, serves 40-50 at most? Service was awesome all around from the hostess, to the server, to the sushi chefs. After 10 pm, I think the sushi chefs are allowed to start drinking with customers (teehee). And so begins the sake bomb time!! The chefs would get everyone attention (yelling, banging on random pots, etc.) and get the restaurant to join in "when i say sake, you say bomb. sake. bomb. sake. bomb" and each round they would bomb a different way. They must have did 5 rounds in the time span of an hour...each time, treating random customers to drinks. yay for free drinks! After working at a sushi restaurant, I can be very picky about my sushi. What I was impressed with was the amount of fresh fish they packed in their rolls - they definitely were not shiesty. In particular, usually if you order a yellowtail roll, most restaurants take the leftover scraps of yellowtail that couldn't cut it as sashimi-status, mush it all together, and fill it in a roll. At Densetsu, the fish used in these rolls were actual sashimi slices, chopped up coarsely, so you could still fully taste the freshness of the fish. Props to Densetsu for that. I'm not a fan of sushi places with a million rolls on their menu - it's way too overwhelming and it makes decision-making a slow process. Densetsu had three pages, likely over 40 rolls to choose from. Narrow it down, please! As always, if Hamachi Kama is offered on the menu, I must order it. The kama here was average size. Unfortunately, the meat was not very tender. :( Great location (for me at least). The place is 5 minutes from my house, so I'm glad I don't have to drag my butt 20 minutes to Sushi Robata for some decent sushi now. Overall, great experience and I will be back! read more

The heavenly roll was poorly put together, I couldn't get a single entire piece in my mouth, it kept falling apart. I had the same problem with my other roll. The service was just sad. I don't want to say who my server was, but he kept forgetting everything we asked for and there were about three other tables other than us. This restaurant is a small volume place. The tuna towers here are simply gigantic. Usually splitting a tower plus some roll and maybe a couple pieces of sushi is enough for me and the bf. Rolls are big too compared to pretty much all other sushi places I've been to. If I were to come here by myself, I probably couldn't eat more than one roll. Overall, this place has a good variety of fresh rolls as well as decent oyster shooters, though latter could use more caviar and higher sake to sauce ratio ;) read more

This is probably the best sushi I have had thus far. The portions are so big that I was full after eating 5 pieces of sushi! The food did not take very long to come out after I ordered and our server was very kind. All of the employees at this restaurant greet and say bye to you all together when you come in and leave. The only downside is that the wait can be a little long to get seated because it's not a very big restaurant, so expect to wait for at least 30 minutes. You have to wait outside of the restaurant, but they have outdoor heaters to keep you warm if it's a cold day! read more

It's still good after the previous owners sold it, the menu is exactly the same and yes, it's still crowded on a Friday night. The main difference I noticed is that there is more rice in the rolls, and the presentation has gone downhill slightly. Rolls aren't as tightly wrapped, servers are reaching between guests at any point who are sitting at the bar. I recommend they remove two seats to have a proper "pass" so that guests conversation isn't interrupted by an elbow. Lion King roll, uni (sea urchin) and mackerel were all still on point. The super crowded bar left my friend and I with hardly any elbow room to use our chopsticks. Though the food is still delicious, I don't think I would come back to fight for a table on the weekend, maybe for lunch or dinner during the week. read more

I came here because how could a place with 900~ reviews and 4 stars be bad, right? I was so wrong. The calamari was not real calamari, it didn't taste like fish and looked like giant onion rings. Apparently when this phenomenon happens it means they skimped out by getting pig buttholes and trying to pass it off as calamari. The sauce for the calamari is pure kewpie mayo and a dab of sriracha. I ordered an unagi donburi (aka Japanese rice BOWL) and it came on a PLATE... with terrible tasting eel... riddled with refrigerator smell... and their eel sauce is so sugary sweet and everything was drowning in it. H Mart has ready to go and great tasting freshwater eel, even the bad-for-you farm raised packaged frozen eel is better than this. It's embarrassing when a restaurant can't beat a grocery store! The sushi here is huge, yes, but it's a giant wad of imitation crab. And it didn't even come with wasabi. Their mashed up mix of sashimi really grossed me out too - also refrigerator flavored and a very dull, sickly looking color. Also, this place must be really dirty or they don't take the trash out often enough because a fruit fly was swimming in my beer. When I mentioned the fly in my beer the waiter boy was like "umm okay... and?" There's no redeeming factor here and I will never understand the tastebud-less people that love mounds of imitation crab meat. Tl;dr go eat at H Mart instead or you'll end up with really expensive food to bring home to your dog like I did. read more
