My partner and I live nearby and drive by often, so we decided to stop in for our date night this evening. The place was tiny but cozy, and we were seated and taken care of promptly. I got gyoza and Katsu Don, and my partner got a Charashi Bowl and Red Clam sushi. The gyoza I'd say was above average and pleasantly crispy. The provided salad was pleasant with a strong citrusy ginger flavor. The Red Clam sushi had wasabi hidden underneath the meat, so keep that in mind if you're a spice baby like myself. My partner described the Charashi bowl as good, especially for the price. My Katsu Don is where I felt everything fell a little flat. It was overly sweet, the rice underneath tasted a bit stale and like nothing, and the katsu itself was a bit too moist and no longer crispy on the outside. However, I must note that it was an impressive $13, when I feel the usual is more like over $20, for a decent amount. It's a smaller place with a great atmosphere- we sit at sushi bar, which is always fun to watch the amazing sushi chef's creativity! My mother had frequently been here for lunch since she works nearby and has good things to say. I happened to be in the area, so the family decided to get lunch here on a weekend day. The place got fairly full inside around 12:30. There is outdoor seating too but not always available depending on the temperature. We were greeted by all the staff upon walking in, and service throughout was great! We really felt taken care of. The food was also commendable. I just wish they would have more plant protein options like tofu in their entrees as there are limited vegetarian let alone vegan options here. Options aside, what they do offer was delicious. We tried the tonkatsu bento box ($14) and the tempura udon ($16) which normally comes with shrimp and veggie tempura. They were able to substitute the shrimp tempura with more veggie tempura, which was nice. Portions were quite good for the price. The bento box components tasted good, although the accompanying sauces were a bit strong/salty. I have been leaving in Plano for 10 years and recently discovered this place. This is a must go place if you want authentic Japanese food.

I eat sushi all over dallas while traveling for work.... This place is a HARD PASS. Went for lunch, was the first customer in. Food was okay. I ordered 2 normal rolls like I do at other sushi places.... The waitress said oh wow that is so much food for one person. Then... after getting the rolls. They were ENORMOUS! Literally the butterfly kiss was the size of my fist, and the spider roll was the size of my palm. I am not sure how that is normal for a sushi restaurant or how you can eat that in one bite. I asked the waitress why they were so big and how we should eat it and she goes "with a knife and fork".... So I don't know if this is their thing but I am not looking for sushi that I can't eat normally. Way over priced and a waste of food. Also wasn't great. We ordered edamame and a big bowl arrived. I ordered sushi and my friend had teriyaki steak and chicken. When I received my roll I remembered why I don't come here. The rolls are HUGE. You cannot eat them in one or two bites. And three bites of sushi with chopsticks is a real mess. That is not my style of sushi . My friend's teriyaki chicken and steak was smothered in sauce. First time here, I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento and volcano roll. The salmon teriyaki bento had a large slice of salmon with a delicious sweet teriyaki sauce I really enjoyed. The salmon itself wasn't amazing, but with the sauce and rice it came together well. It also came with a fresh salad with some sesame dressing and 2 deep fried gyoza. The fried gyoza was delicious! For $15 this was pretty good, and a large size. This tastes better than Shiawase in my opinion. The volcano roll was pretty good, but they added the tuna on top in a meatball form which I am not a personal fan of. The salmon on the sushi was good and the sauces were flavorful though! Service was really great! The food came out fast and fresh and I never had to ask for anything. They were friendly too. The ambiance is like a simple Japanese restaurant, clean and simple. I can't believe it took me this long to try this place. Came here for lunch on a weekend and was surprised that they have a lunch menu available. I'm a sucker for value, so this is a win already. We had the Dragon Roll (I believe that's what it's called), salmon teriyaki with vegetable tempura, edamame, and tuna rolls. They give such large portions when it comes to their rolls. I've never seen rolls that size! They were fresh and plenty flavorful, especially the Dragon Roll. The salmon was too thin and overcooked for my preference but it still had a great flavor. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the side salad as I tasted more orange rind than I would've liked to. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. read more

This place has something for everyone sushi and non-sushi eaters alike. We ordered a variety of rolls and the ribeye and tempura platter in case the kids refused sushi. After the kids devoured the tempura shrimp, they surprisingly ate all the sushi rolls and forgot about the teriyaki steak, which was delicious by the way. It made for a great lunch the next day. Just ordered and picked up my alone Star roll and I am very disappointed. The roll was full of oil and put right onto the styrofoam container that way. I actually had to move my rolls to the other side after putting a layer of paper towels down to absorb some of the oil as you can see on the photos attached. In addition, the miso soup was simply brought with no seaweed nor any tofu in it at all This used to be my favorite place. I have no idea what happened to the quality. My experience at Densetsu was great! The rolls are humongous, so you can definitely order fewer rolls than at most sushi joints. I typically order 4-5 rolls and here I would order only 3. Good selection and great service. It seemed like there were a lot of families which was nice to see! The only issue I had is that the rolls, despite being huge, are mostly filled with crab mix, which is tasty but seems like it's driven by cost (more crab= less of the more expensive fish). That said, I think if you're trying to feed a family, this is a very cost-effective option as far as sushi goes. read more

It's a small restaurant with room for 10 people at the sushi bar and dining room big enough for 35-40z they also have an inclosed outdoor patio with more seating as well. Getting seated was quick and the staff was amazing! They have a large selection of food, but I came for the sushi, which they also had a large selection of. I got an assortment of sushi and it was ALL fresh and delicious! The presentation of the sushi on the plate was great and the cost was reasonable.
