Their billing practices are terrible and they hired an unprofessional admin for the front desk and the dentist I preferred left early when he was supposed to examine me and I finally had enough. It frustrated me to learn that in January 2024 Glacier peaks, Dr Applesies, decided to not accept certain dental insurances, which basically, dentists do to make more off 'higher paying' insurance plans. The office staff showed no sympathy, they never were really friendly, so when I told them that my family as well as other friends and family were going to find another dentist, they simply didn't care. They did, however, mention that we could 'pay out-of-pocket' the difference. Really? Wow! Talk about feeling the brush off, it's not about the patient just the money.... so surprised because I always felt like it was a good patient, doctor rapport until this happened. He had good patients but basically kick them out due to your focus on $$$$. On top of that, the crown they placed on my tooth #30 does not match the color of my other teeth at all, which is very noticeable and frustrating after such a large expense. I also tried to discuss the billing issue with Stephany at the front desk, but instead of helping, she became angry with me for even asking. She refused to take the matter to Dr. Trembath for review. It felt like the staff was more interested in collecting extra money than treating patients fairly or ensuring quality care.

The hygienist worked quickly and efficiently, taking care since I told her my gums were sensitive due to pregnancy. Dr. Jack came in and checked everything and said all is looking great! He was very friendly and we talked about my pregnancy and his new grandbaby. Love the personal attention. They offered a fluoride treatment for a small fee and I accepted. Glad to have the chance to decline though if I didn't want it. Was there for a total of 45 mins for the whole cleaning and exam, no X-Rays this time since I just had some in January. I found out my insurance did not cover my treatment over a year after I finished treatment, and I only found out because I was sent to collections. They never mailed me a bill, or even attempted to contact me. On top of that, they constantly had orthodontists leaving the practice, and different orthodontist overseeing my care. I ultimately had to go through a second round of treatment at a different office, because they never correctly aligned my jaw. After switching offices and moving over my records, there were multiple fillings that my new office said were "unnecessary". So it definitely felt like Orchard Dental Group was just trying to get as much money out of me as possible. I had a friend come here for dental work as well and he was incorrectly billed, and had to fight his insurance company to fix something the office should have initially provided.

The one thing that bothered me a bit was that I would always feel pressured to schedule my next appointment fat in advance and reassured that it was no issue because I could always reschedule, but was always given the reminder text or call on a Friday while working and then they would close for the weekend, leaving me without time to reschedule within the grace period, and resulting in some cancellation fees. Totally understand why these are in place and that I should be better about remembering my appointments, but sometimes I just forget as many people do I am sure!
