This place is one of the only places that accepts Apple health (they also do sliding scales) in the…read morearea. Appointments are usually about 3-4 months out. I get extreme anxiety at the dentist office and my first few visits were great. However I had to schedule an emergency visit because of tooth sensitivity from a couple fillings a few months back. When i showed up for my initial appointment I waited in the waiting room for 20 mins and didn't get called back until I asked the receptionist to check in on my dentist. I was told that because i am an adult i couldnt have my husband back there with me. I told them my husband has always been able to be with me during my appointments and then she said it was ok. We waited in the back for another 40 mins without a dentist even seeing me. We asked someone what was taking so long because we had other appointments to make and most of the associates were in a room having a party. We rescheduled for today. Today, again, I get told that I can't bring my husband to the back with me, even after I told her I had anxiety. After checking with the dentist who usually sees me and has met my husband many times she came back and said the dentist said it was ok for me to have my husband with me. He is also my husbands dentist. I want to say this: I don't care if I have my mother, grandparent, child, husband or neighbor with me while I'm at an appointment. If I say as a patient I want this person back with me, then don't argue with me about my care. It's at the point where I don't even know if I want to come back because I don't feel comfortable in a place where I feel unsafe and can't have a family member with me without causing a scene.

Cannot even begin to explain my horrible experience, each time it got worse. Dr O is the most…read moreunprofessional dentist ever, talks about the dates he goes on with his assistants, "pretty graphic" each time I've had an appointment I've waited over an hour in the room . My last filling he did he chipped my front tooth and got angry when I showed him and denied it even though the piece of tooth was in my mouth. They did a build up for my sons crown and forgot to cure it which caused it to break in half taking half of his natural tooth with it, when I brought it up they said he shouldn't have been chewing on that side. I was warned by so many people in the community but he was the closest to my house. BAD DENTIST,, you have been warned

I had one visit (at their Gig Harbor location), because they were the only local office that took…read moremy insurance. (It took me a while to figure it out, but the insurance in question (SmartSmile) wasn't really insurance at all -- it's actually just a referral service to dentists so desperate for clients that they'll agree to take the client's "copay" amount as their full payment. Of course, that means the dentists in question are having trouble either getting or hanging onto patients on their own, sooo...) Like other people here, I had one go-round of them insisting I was there for my appointment on the wrong week. (I do know the mistake wasn't at my end, because I wrote the date and time down while on the phone scheduling and repeated it back to her. I know it's fairly easy when working in an appointment scheduling program to input an appointment on the wrong week, so I didn't think much of it at the time... then I belatedly read reviews here and saw that it seems to be a recurring theme.) Even just getting x-rays and cleaning, it became clear that this dental office was nothing but a cash grab. They insisted that I needed three crowns and wouldn't even discuss alternatives -- they just pushed their time-payment plan (on me and everyone else that came in while I was sitting in the waiting room). I ended up ditching the useless insurance and going back to my previous dentist. (I had always been totally happy with her -- it was only $ that forced me to try the lousy insurance and thus this lousy dental office.) Oh, and to top it off? Turns out that I needed ZERO crowns, not three.

I understand that these are recommendations, however, when I went to another dentist, I was given a completely different treatment plan which makes me question the integrity of the clinic.

Although a long…read moretime has passed, every time I visit a dental office I am reminded of what happened there, so I decided to write this review now. The dentist, Dr. Bello, was professional, but my experience with the hygienist, Kelly, was extremely negative. At that time, I had just moved to the United States, did not speak English well, and naturally relied on my husband to communicate. Instead of showing understanding, Kelly made remarks suggesting that I was like a child depending on my husband. I found this deeply mocking and humiliating. During the cleaning, she smiled while inflicting pain on me, and it felt cruel and deliberate. As an Asian immigrant who couldn't speak English then, I felt that she treated me differently in a way she would not have treated other patients. That made the experience even more painful and isolating. I cannot confirm whether Kelly is still working there, but that experience left me with lasting trauma and a deep mistrust toward dental hygienists in America. In my opinion, no patient should ever be made to feel ridiculed or discriminated against because of language or cultural background.
