This place is so disorganized! I went to this office months ago because they are open on Saturdays. I had my appointment booked for over a week, and I get into the office, they said that I didn't have an appointment on file but they could squeeze me in. This made me mad because when I called, I wrote down exactly what time and date the appointment was and the receptionist claimed it had been booked! I had to wait like 45 minutes to be seen since I was a "walk-in." This week I tried to schedule another cleaning. I wanted to give this place another chance since they are super close to where I live and since they are open on Saturdays. I saw that they had an online appointment request form. I submitted a request and I got a phone call from the receptionist from the Bell office even though I was on the Greenway page. I then submitted a second request in which I explicitly asked for the Greenway office. A receptionist from the Bell office called and she left me a voicemail telling me to call the Greenway office. What's the point of having an online request form when they can't even schedule an appointment at the office I want to go to without calling me? I work in a phone based job and cannot take a bunch of time off the phones to deal with them. I already wasted some valuable time in between calls with their online appointment request system. I will find a new dentist's office since both times I've interacted with them, I've had problems and the other Yelp reviews raise some concerns about hygiene and competency of the dentists. I have had to be seen a few times for loose fillings (from a previous dentist) or for other random issues and the office staff has always been so quick to help me find an appointment. One time, I was out of town and my son called me in excruciating pain, so I gave him the number to Dental Depot and they got him in immediately! The front office staff has always been very helpful and friendly and all of the dentists and hygienists have been great to work with as well! Dr. Arthurs and one of the assistants, Jelena, have done the majority of my checkups and regular visits and they are wonderful. I was seen yesterday for an emergency fill repair, where I saw a Dr. Reynolds and I will absolutely see him again. He was quick, professional and had a great personality, not to mention he stated he was a bit OCD, which is music to my ears when a dentist is working on my two front teeth!! This is office is a disaster! They don't follow up or return calls. I was supposed to only be in my braces for 12-16 months and now I'm at 25 months still waiting to get them off! Dr. Wright shifted my top teeth in the wrong direction and had to revert back to old wires from a year ago and practically start over adding 6 plus months to my time. I am very displeased with my results and treatment from this office. I have called and requested to speak to management (never available) expressing my displeasure and again never called me back. Dr. Wright suggested a gum procedure at another office and I have been trying to reach someone for 2 days on details and who will be paying for it. My braces are paid in full and I refuse to pay another dime for these poor results. Still waiting to hear the outcome from this mess and complete inconvenience. If you are looking for braces go someplace else! They never have openings for adjustments within the needed time frame to return and don't have staff to support the number of patients they have. They only service ortho one day a week with only one Doctor in house. Biggest disappointment for a $5,000 purchase EVER! The rating of this office speaks for itself. Friendly front office staff. My first visit for the routine exam was 5-star. Went in for my first follow-up appointment today for a cavity followed by a cleaning. Was told when I got there that they would do the cleaning first instead. No big deal. Was told the hygienist would be in shortly. Shortly turned into 30 minutes sitting in the chair and nothing. Plenty of other patients coming in after me and getting serviced right away so at the 30 minute mark walked out. Wife called the manager and told her I would be switching dentist and not to bother charging my insurance for today. Manager had a "I don't give. shot attitude" and said 30 minutes was a reasonable wait time and they were behind today. Well, don't overbook then and how about some common courtesy and letting the patient know what the delay or hold up is. read more

Absolutely love coming in pain free only to leave with incomplete work and suffer through the weekend because "sorry we are closing" .... not only did I schedule this appointment out in advance with the understanding that it would be enough time to complete both items but also I paid up front for this half assed job. So before writing this review I thought hey let's see if they can't work something out for my pain over the weekend and this whole mistake or what not and was in the nicest way possible told to go F myself! I personally like this place. They have play areas set up for smaller kids, and everyone here seem to genuinely enjoy the work, and most importantly, are gentle and compassionate. These are not always qualities found in a dentist office. So, hate on the trains all you want, but while hanging around with your mouth open, it gives you something else to stare at besides the hygienist. read more

I waited two hours to get an emergency root canal and all I got was this lousy t-shirt. No, really. They gave me a t-shirt. It's grey and it has a train on it. Not exactly dentistry with dignity, but okay. I think the woman at the front desk who gave it to me felt sorry for me, so one star for misplaced compassion. One star for being open on a Saturday, one star for accepting an out-of-town walk-in, and one star for an exceptionally clean office. Minus one star for the gimmicky horror of it all. There's garish train station decor inside and out; train magazines and train books stacked on the tables in the waiting room; oil paintings of trains on the wall; oh, and a bathroom decorated like...a train. There's even an electric train that runs on a track throughout the entire office and makes electric train noises. It's hoisted on the wall just out of reach, so any temptation I had to grab it on its 28th pass of the hour and slam it against the wall was sort-of squandered. I'm sure mouth breathing children would enjoy this place, but it seemed to annoy the crap out of most of the adults that came in. I was in too much pain to protest. read more

The train motif like lol but seriously I keep giving it a try but the front desk must be family since the customer service skills be a lacking and billing is a joke. I don't mind paying but it never is honestly provided by line item and just when you think you paid in full you go back- months later - with a balance. Really with all the staff you can't get your crap together to send a bill or have it right the first time? I was a patient at An Elegant Smile and was very happy with them. The only reason I left was bc they weren't open on the weekends. I went to Dental Depot and that was a huge mistake. Dental Depot barely gave me anything more than "You need thousands of dollars worth of work", but I could never seem get them to go into detail about what was needed or wrong with my teeth and why I needed the work without playing 20 questions. To be blunt, it was like pulling teeth to get the information. This irritated the doctor but the girl who cleaned my teeth was nice. He literally sits down and says,"So what are we looking at here"? I was gobsmacked bc the girl said, "Please explain to her what work needs to be done and why." They were always confused that I was ready to schedule my next appointment in the office and would tell me to just call when I was ready... Um.. I was... I was very frustrated that they switched gloves without washing their hands in between. I also hated that they constantly touched everything in the office with their gloves on before putting their hands in my mouth. Every time I went in they couldn't seem to figure out how to work the small x-ray machine. They also don't use lead shields, even though they have them. I asked them to use one in my son for a full x-ray and was told, "Well it's not THAT much radiation." She used it when I gave her the "Are you kidding me right now" look. I'm not going back. I missed An Elegant Smile/Gentle Dental Rio Vista and I'm so glad to be back there. Please read my other review. I had such a great experience here as a new patient! I was in so much pain with my molar, I called the office and was seen the same day. I love the front office staff, the check in was so easy too . My adult son with special needs received excellent service at this location. Crystal was so patient with him, explaining in advance everything she was doing from taking X-rays to cleaning his teeth. She assessed that he needed this reassurance and acted accordingly. She took the time to give him choices in the flavor of toothpaste she used. It's little things like this that empower disabled individuals. The office staff were pleasant also. The dentist had a great demeanor and also was very patient. The hygienists are very nice but the front office billing people are clueless. Every time I go in there is some phantom charge. Twice we have caught an error of theirs. Once they were able to fix it the other time they had no idea and tried to blame it on "insurance" and it was my responsibility to get ahold of insurance. Isn't that the purpose of the billing department? Also another time we got a random bill for $80 in my name only to find out it was actually for my wife who is on a completely different insurance policy. They claim they will talk to the office manager but I doubt I will hear anything. read more

Ok first I don't like to leave bad reviews. But this was a bit much to stand for during a pandemic. One of the receptionists was coughing, sneezing and sniffling. Mask or no mask she should not be at work during COVID. I don't know if she has a cold, allergies or what. But touching your mask after coughing and sneezing and not using any hand sanitizer or leaving to wash your hands is unacceptable when you are in a place who provides medical services. I could not believe none of her coworkers had not said something. You would think they would be concerned for their safety as well as the safety of the people coming in. She wasn't wearing a N95 mask just a cloth mask. That is not enough. Needless to say I was not happy about that. read more

I chose this office based on proximity, hours of operation & Google Reviews (my mistake) for a new patient appointment at noon last Saturday for my teen. Unfortunately, we'll not be returning, after an abnormally long, 90 minute appointment, during which not one person kept either of us informed of the delay or communicated with me at all. My daughter is anxious, in general, nervous about dentists, this was her first time here & she was in the back alone (extra people aren't allowed due to Covid) for that whole time without knowing why she was sitting idle for so long. Had I been back there, I would've spoken up. And, had I known we'd be there that long, I would've prepared her, and also gone home to wait for her to be done. The front desk clerk was very apologetic when I inquired (after seeing multiple people come & go) about what the delay was, about 80 minutes into the appointment. Unfortunately, he was the only one who did so. I get that businesses like this run behind sometimes, but as a paying customer & concerned parent, the gross lack of consideration for my time & keeping me informed, the lack of sensitivity & communication with my child, the whole thing left a terrible first impression. A little communication goes a long way, folks. I'll be cancelling the future appointment made & finding an office that's more customer focused & runs on time. read more

ZERO stars! This place is beyond rude and disrespectful. They took advantage of my child whom just turned 18 two days ago. I, as the parent scheduled my children's appointment and I am the primary on the account. My children had cleaning appointments and went without me and they charged my sons credit card $87 and did not even tell me! When I scheduled the appointment nor when they called to confirm did they tell me that his max had been reached and it would be an out of pocket visit. They did not bother to tell me today during their appointment either. Instead they told my son and charged his cc and they said that he was 18 so he's an adult now, even though he's still in high school and just turned 18 two days ago!! When I called to tell them to put my sons money back on his card, Lillybeth (a sorry excuse for an office manager) was rude and hung up on me and when I called back the girl who answered the phone left me on hold for an hour. Any parent would be livid that their child got taken advantage of like that! I've had problems before with them not billing the insurance correctly and then trying to charge me for it. You need to be very careful with this place and watch every bill and every explanation from the insurance to make sure they are not scamming you, because they will! They lost a family of 4 over Lillybeth's (office manager) behavior and lack of customer service. I will never go back. Anyone hi writes a good review about this place is either a family member of an employee there or an employee themselves because this place is trash and from the looks of all the reviews I'm not the only who thinks so. I had waited a little late to bring my son to his first dentist appointment (he is 5). The hygienist Nicole was absolutely wonderful with him. He was scared, but she took the time to ask him other questions and show him what each tool did. My son had a great experience and now he thinks he wants to be a dentist! Part of the reason I picked it is because of the train theme and my son loves trains, so this also helped immensely in calming him down. There's a train out front where you can climb and take photos, plus everything in the place is train themed. Great experience! read more

Do not recommend. They scammed me $160. I am an AHCCCS patient and they failed to make me aware before my appointment that my insurance would not cover. Regardless if I were aware or not i should have been notified how much the appointment would be by the staff before my appointment. They said they "assumed" I would know. I recently turned 21. I clearly wasn't aware. Some lady came in after my visit to say "so since you're 21 your insurance would not cover this appointment". They should have made me aware of it before hand. They were hounding me to make an appointment because "my insurance said I was over due for a cleaning"...indicating my appointment would be covered by insurance. I am on AHCCCS FOR A REASON. I do not have the funds. All they could do was say "You don't have to pay now, we will bill it though mail". They did not help at all. Even the office manger told the assistant she should have been made aware. Horrible service. While, I a low income ahcccs patient was getting my teeth cleaned The hygienist was complaining about her three cars and how she just bought a new one. She even told me how much she was being paid and how much she makes. How inconsiderate. Really hope they clear this up. Horrible!! read more

My husband had a 1:00 appt for a routine teeth cleaning. They called 3 weeks before his appt asking to switch it to 12:30, which was no problem. His appt day comes, we arrive 10 minutes early, at 12:20. 4 other people come in after us and were called back before us, even someone who had not finished their paperwork. The doctors, assistants and hygienist were all great. As a matter of fact I have had pleasant interactions with all but one employee there. I dont know her name but she has been rude the last couple of times I've been there. Today however, she just chose not to do her job. When I went in for my initial appointment she asked about the pharmacy i used. I told her i didnt have the phone number but that it was the frys pharmacy at 35th and Thunderbird. She said she would look it up for me. Fast forward to weeks when I have a bottom molar extracted at 8 am. I was told my prescription would be called in, and likely ready by 1pm. I was fortunate to be able to sleep through the pain. My daughter went to pick it up. It is now 415pm. The pharmacy never got it. So I called dental depot, and the front office answers and says oh when I looked we didnt have a pharmacy on file for you. I remember explicitly the. Conversation about the pharmacy during the prior appointment, but even if we didnt have that conversation this lady didnt even pick up the phone to call and ask me what pharmacy. I feel like she didnt care in the slightest how much pain I was or would be in. She never bothered to pick up the phone to ask. WHO WANTS A DENTIST OFFICE WHO DOESNT CARE IF THEIR PATIENTS ARE IN PAIN? Unfortunately I pre paid for a service. Once it's done I will find an office with compassion. One that will take the initiative to pick up the phone and ask what pharmacy to send a prescription to, in order to make sure the patient has the least pain possible. read more

I stopped in the office on Thursday or Friday to make sure my insurance was accepted. It was and I explained I was a new patient and need to make an appointment. I filled out all the paperwork then and made an appointment for the following Tuesday afternoon. Well today is Tuesday I showed up 15-20 min before my appointment and sat for 30 min before the receptionist told me they were waiting for confirmation from my insurance company that I had a policy because they could not find my insurance policy #. I gave them the original insurance card and was explained that the insurance company representative was in a business meeting and they were waiting for a return phone call. After sitting 45 minutes past my appointment time for a total of over an hour in their lobby, I was still not helped today.(cleaning and new patient check-up) The lack of my business won't hurt their's, I know, but I've decided I will take my money elsewhere. read more

Their trains are always needing repair and are never running so you can imagine how disappointed my 4 year old was on his to his first dental appointment was when he didn't get to see then trains. I had a busted tooth that was killing me on a Saturday, the staff got me in and took necessary steps to aleviate the pain. The office crew were courteous and polite. I hadn't been to the dentist for several years and was quite surprised at the advances in dental field. I had never been able to say that going to the dentist was nearly painless and pleasant but that appointment changed all of that. My daughter had a dental visit on 4/06/2013 to have a tooth filled. The dentist and nurse were very utterly rude and lacking compassion. Other that the fact that she thinks he did the wrong tooth...the dentist said just because she has piercings that she can handle the pain and shoved the needle into her gums. He did not inject it gradually, he injected it all at once. Her gums are all cut up and bleeding, she has sealant on her gums. She has sealant falling out of her tooth. I have had my wisdom teeth pulled and many other things completed and have never had an issue. They are very up to date with technology which is a plus for someone like me. This place is the most inept, unprofessional dental office I've seen in 50 years. With 2 fractured teeth and severe pain they've put us off for 6 weeks. Every step of the way we've had to do the work of calling them over and over to get in and get surgery scheduled. We had to get ahold of insurance. They couldn't do it. Had to call PCP to send approval of health for surgery. They couldn't get it done. They forget to call back. Lose information from other doctors. Finally get the approval and scheduled appointment for surgery. Show up for surgery and be told they don't have the information they need. While being told days before it's all ready. Expecting after all this to come back again. The oral surgeon is only here on Thursdays. During all this she can barely eat, drink, sleep. Additionally there's other work that needs to be done that's non-surgical. They've not done a thing about it after initial x-rays. Come on guys. Put some care and passion into what you do. read more

I went for a routine cleaning and X-ray and although I had no discomfort was notified of some decaying on my wisdom teeth which had already broken through. I was offered an appointment a week later to remove all 4 wisdom teeth and I jumped at the prospect of getting rid of them. Dr Anton Diy was extremely helpful and super laid back. He made sure I was sufficiently numb before he did anything else and all 4 wisdom teeth were pulled with no issue. Dr Diy was extremely reassuring and made sure I felt as comfortable as could be. I just have to say this place is amazing, I am very afraid of Dentists' and as far as my family is concerned, this place has to be awesome, due to the fact I have gone myself to have three crowns done. They have done the procedures, fast, quick,,and the quality was great. The staff is very reassuring and supportive for chickens like me. The front office staff is friendly, calming and understanding. I have no dental insurance so I have done a lot of cost comparrasions. The Dental Depot price is usually lower than other offices, including the local dental school clinic. Another great fact is that you can have the whole family seen. People complain about the trains, just pretend you are a kid again. As far as the complaint about the emergency, I was also an emergency my first time , did not have to wait, as said before the office is exceptionally clean. read more
