Dr. Ghattas is the most caring dental specialist I have ever visited. I needed a major periodontal surgery, done in a few phases. I was terrified at the prospect of this procedure since I have dental anxiety, caused by past painful experiences. I felt so comfortable after my first appointment that I don't feel anxiety anymore. TLDR; AVOID at all costs. Performs procedures not covered by insurance (without warning); does not honor personally guaranteed promotions; makes wildly ridiculous claims to get out of them. Chose this dentist because of their "free whitening" offer for new patients. On the day of the day appointment, was told that they could not do the whitening that day because they didn't have enough time to after the cleaning, but that they would for sure take care of it next time I came. We shook hands, and I left, not thinking much of it. Note that there's only one dentist at this practice. Next time rolls around, and I booked my appointment and on the day of the appointment I called and asked that they confirm that they would have enough time to do the whitening this time to make up for last time. The receptionist told me that shouldn't be a problem and that she just needed to confirm with the dentist (the same dentist, the only one there), and that she would call me back as soon as she confirms it. 30 minutes go by, then an hour. So I called back. This time the dentist was just finishing up with another patient, and she would call and let me know in 30 minutes. 30 minutes go by, then an hour. So I called back again. This time, the dentist was just finishing up with a patient and she would call back and let me know in 5 minutes. 30 minutes go by, then an hour, then an hour and a half, and I called back again. And... after all of that, just an hour before my scheduled appointment, was told (by the receptionist, no less) that the dentist would NOT honor the free whitening promotion because, and I quote, "they're under different management now," even though it's the same dentist operating under the same practice name. Unbelievable. Seriously. I should also advise to be sure to ask for a PREDETERMINATION for any service they perform, as harmless as whatever it is sounds at the time. The first time I went they performed several procedures that my (very good) insurance did not cover, and gave me no warning about it whatsoever, which stuck me with a bill that was an order of magnitude larger than any I've ever received. Needless to say, I'm not going back, even though that's a huge inconvenience after going there as a new patient, getting my xrays done there, and it being right down the street from me. read more

I am surprised to read the reviews here. I have been a patient with Dr. Ghattas since January of this year. I came to see him for two crowns that I needed following a root canal. Not to mention, I'm terrified of dentists since some very unpleasant childhood experiences. What was supposed to be a simple procedure of getting crowns turned out to be my nightmare because one of my tooth had chipped badly (once again my fault for having to wait too long) and needed extraction. To make a long story short, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Dr. Ghattas is very knowledgeable, highly personable and unlike any salesperson, does not unnecessary sell his services. I was not coerced intro getting any upgrades in my mouth other than what was absolutely required. I'm so glad I went to see him and would recommend anyone who wants to get over a negative experience to see Dr. Ghattas. I have never been prompted to write a review, but want to warn everyone about this dentist. First of all, I think I got work done that wasn't needed. I have never had a cavity in my life and he told me I had two even though I got my teeth normally cleaned 6 months ago. Second, he told me I needed deep cleaning done on my teeth, so I said.. OK. The first time around was fine. The second time around on the other side of my mouth, he literally took a chunk off my tongue and scraped my lip pretty badly with the instruments. I called the next day to ask him what I should do and the receptionist said he was with a patient and would call me back. By this point my tongue was black and blue and I was having problems talking and tasting. Well, he never called me back. I called back 4 days later just to tell them to cancel my for a follow up as I'm never coming back AND that I planned on writing up a review about him. I got a call back from his assistant, not him. Needless to say, this dentist does not care what he's done to his patient b/c he would've at the very least, called me back. Do not go here unless you want a bloody mouth and a cut up tongue. read more

During treatments he makes sure to minimize discomfort and is careful to comment when procedures could produce sensations that might surprise his patients. I also had a similar negative experience at this dental process. They recommended a deep cleaning, which I had not needed before. They administered a numbing agent, which lasted for most of the day. The dentist did not explain this to me beforehand, so this was a negative unexpected surprise. The dental practice closed after my deep cleaning, and I was left with swelling, inflammation and puffiness for several hours. I will never return to this dental practice, which was an unpleasant experience. read more

Dr. Ghattas and his team at Dental Designers are the best! My whole life I've been terrified of the dentist to the point I was always sedated. I really needed a lot of work done and Dr. Ghattas assured me it would be painless, and I would be awake for it. He completed extractions, fillings, bone graphs, a bridge, several caps, and his associate completed numerous root canals. There was very minimal discomfort and absolutely no pain throughout any of the procedures. Dr. Ghattas never tried to up-sell me. I had an emergency with toothache but it was my fault I waited for that tooth too long with decay until it started hurting. I called Dental Designers and they took me right away on Saturday for an emergency visit. I have to say it was personalized attention. Dr. Ghattas did his best to get me out of pain; I had to have a root canal. Procedure was done on the same day. I am definitely going back for a crown on that tooth; Overall it was an amazing experience and very friendly atmosphere. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. This started off as a good place to receive care, then as I became more educated in the dental field I realized it wasnt. I came in December 2019 to get my teeth cleaned, there was no hygienist present and the dentist just cleaned my gum line with a high powered but did not clean any surface stains from my teeth which shouldve been done because i have braces. In July 2020 I was able to get my teeth cleaned by the hygienist and she was amazing! my teeth felt clean and looked nice. However this last visit in October 2020 was the worst decision of my life. There was no xray taken since December 2019, xrays should be taken every 6 months. as the dr was changing my amalgam filings to composite he realized that i had a cavity, this would have been known had they taken proper care of me. I had a build up on one tooth getting the amalgam, rather than cleaning the build up he forced the band around my tooth. He did not dry my tooth before checking my bite with registration paper, the total price also went up 80 dollars without my approval. Please do not go to this office. I do not have another office to suggest but my family that started visiting him and myself will never be back. read more

I came to Dr Ghattas to repair a broken bridge. the bridge was done by a big chain dental company (I will never go to a big dental chain ever again). Dr Ghattas was very nice and knowledgeable, he told me the best possible ways to repair my bridge and didn't try to push unnecessary dental work.
