New Patient Review, Part 2: Even when calling the number…read morefor this office, I was redirected to the main office (rolls eyes). So, I had to ask for the Milledgeville Office. While Online Registration is used, upon Check-in, there's still quite a bit of paperwork that has to be completed (rolls eyes). Despite CHCS being a large company (in GA, anyway), not only is this office off the beaten path (and close to our Regional Airport), they use a converted double wide mobile home for their facility. And, padded folding chairs (many without footpads, which has damaged the linoleum in places). Despite having an appt for 2:00, I wasn't called in, until well after 3. :-( Then, I was taken to one of the Exam Rooms. Thankfully, they had a regular padded chair. And, after having my vitals taken, the MA told me, "The doctor (Brigett Bailey, DO) is running about an hour behind schedule. Ugh! Be sure to have your device charged, as they don't have any magazines to read. To be honest, and despite the friendliness of the staff, at this point, I was planning on giving them a 2-3 Star rating. But, 4 things happened that made me give them 4 Stars (had it not been for the hour+ wait, it would be 5 Stars): 1. Something that has never happened to me, my mother, or my aunt occurred that really surprised me. The doctor stopped by and introduced herself. And, she apologized for the delay, with an, "I'll be with you soon." 2. When she finally got to me, she apologized again, and explained and despite being behind schedule, she told me that an unexpected procedure had to be performed. 3. Unlike many doctors nowadays, and despite her being behind schedule, she spent nearly half an hour with me. 4. Despite the Lab work being done 4:50, results were on My Patient Portal early this morning (before 09:00). Finally, as an FYI, unlike an MD, a DO treats the whole body, vs the symptom (s). So, I got a list of "Dos and Don'ts". Though, being Italian, and having to avoid Tomato Products, Fried and Spicy Foods, and alcohol is heartbreaking (crying). LoL Sadly, despite having a room set up for dental needs, this office currently doesn't have a dentist available. I have a follow up in late June. So, let's see how that goes. But, I do recommend them. And, it's made better, because my Insurance has a Zero Copay there. :-)

Like scores of other people I have…read moreto settle for sub-standard medical care on their sliding scale, for me it's $25 per visit when a neighbor pays for it. I will continue to struggle to get my hypertension meds because of a lack of money. I'm 65 years old and have things physically wrong with me that requires specialists that requires considerable money that I don't have, so I don't expect to receive that type of care. But I feel like I should at least be able to get my hypertension meds and anti-depressants needed for deep depression and anxiety as they really are not that expensive. And quite frankly I cannot get them to answer the phone when I call them. I leave a message about them giving the ok for an Albuterol Inhaler and they won't do it. I also need simvaststatin for high blood cholesterol levels but don't worry about it as I can't afford it. I know they are loaded down with patients because of the medical care for profit system, but how is that my fault?
