Dental Dictatorship......but Worth It! I seemed to encounter a twisted reality, comical lack of communication, and egregious interpersonal ability from many at this office. It is my belief that consistently operating at such a substandard level poses significant risk and potential harm in a healthcare setting. BUT........this isn't your average dental appointment and it's worth the uncertainty if you're lucky enough to be allowed the undeserving opportunity to experience the magic of Dr. Sergio Rubinstein. You're engaging with a prominent, accomplished and brilliant industry leader with remarkable talent for combining artistry and science. You really can't improve on perfection. Be prepared to check your dignity, self-respect and basic human rights at the door. Your goal should be to see how long you can last under the regime of a dental dictatorship before you're hostilely discarded. If you make it to "open wide", you'll be left drained, mesmerized and going back for more. The doctor's keen eye for detail, precision in everything he does, and ability to painlessly navigate the oral cavity is mind-blowing. From complex cases to restorative work like crowns and implants, no one is better. Dr. Rubinstein delivered a stunning result repairing my veneer that cracked. If you can accept being stripped of any choice, critical thinking or decision-making ability, I can assure you that Dr. Rubinstein's expertise, recommendations, and work repeatedly (almost always) proved right and exceeded any dental professional that I've ever consulted. I also don't want to fail to mention the incredible maturity and grace that the doctor demonstrated when I consulted him in a near state of panic after being convinced that I was going to lose my upper anterior teeth. It was perhaps any dentist's nightmare. His credibility and patience alone provided the assurance I needed that no one else could've achieved. This review is purely my opinion and includes some hyperbole and exaggeration to best convey my experience. The statements are not to be taken literally with the exception of the striking aptitude and intelligence of the artist and prosthodontist Dr. Rubinstein. I have nothing but positive things to say about this practice. I've been going here for years, and they are as good as it gets. Right when you walk in they make you feel at home, asking what they can bring you to make you more comfortable. Also, although I only go in a handful of times a year, they recognize me on sight, and that isn't something that happens places often, and really shows you how they value you as a patient. I'm the sort of person who gets very nervous about procedures and asks a lot of questions, so Dr. Rubinstein scores big points with me. He's extremely knowledgeable, but also very patient when it comes to questions and concerns, giving great explanations and analogies for the procedures, putting me at ease. The quality of work I have received has been excellent, exceeding all expectations. I smile a lot more now. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this practice. Dr. Rubinstein and his staff have been amazing. I had to get a lot of work done, fillings for the most part. Dr. Rubinstein did an exceptional job. He was clear with each step of the process and he is so good that the procedures were practically painless. I always dread those numbing injections where I can feel a shock of pain running through my mouth and then accompanied by a burst of bitter tasting medicine--Dr. Rubinstein does it so gently and carefully that I never feel those two things. And of course, once that part is over, I can't really feel that much pain anymore. That and the fact that the office makes sure I get all my preventative care have made me much more at ease with my smile and the health of my teeth. Not just Dr. Rubinstein is great, so is Sandy the hygienist, has a great hand, and makes sure to give me brushing and flossing tips whenever I'm in. It feels like everyone there really cares about your health and getting the most out of every appt. Dental care is one of those things where you get what you pay for. I am forever greatful to Dr. Rubinstein and his staff for providing top notch dental care. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the assistants and hygienists, to the doctor himself are very warm, and professional people. Dr. Rubinstein is truly a miracle worker if it comes to teeth and he displays his passion for dentistry with the care he provides. I had an appointment for a cleaning one day so I initially ended up seeing him after my cleaning. He diagnosed and filled a small cavity right away after it became apparent on my inital x rays. I then came to to see him after my previous dentist noted that I had a cavity on my front upper tooth below the gumline. The tooth in that location was very sensitive even to gentle touch from dental instruments. The pain ended up making me fear and avoid cleanings. After taking some x-rays, it was clear that I had a cavity in that very location, but treating it was a gamble given that everything looked fine with the tooth, even after the doctor removed some of my gum tissue to get a better look. He ended up drilling into the spot where the cavity appeared on the x ray, placing a filling in the exact location and the extreme sensitivity in that tooth completely dissapeared! I am not an easy patient to treat given my fear of the dentist provoked by some previous bad experiences, but Dr. Rubinstein's calm chair side manner and his staff's caring approach during every single step of the process put me at ease. I no longer fear the dentist and I know that Dr. Rubinstein and his staff will work with me to determine the best course of action, no matter my situation. Since receiving such quality treatment I have switched dentists once again and have made DRC my permanent home for dental care. Dental Reconstruction Center is NOT a money making machine, and they truly put the patient first unlike some other practices I've been to. Dr. Rubinstein's conservative approach to treatment wil ensure you get the services you need and deserve, nothing more and nothing less. I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Rubinstein, especially because I had terrible experiences with my previous dentists. He was able to fix everything the other dentists had done in my mouth and was very accommodating. The office is also gorgeous and made me feel at ease. Definitely 5 stars. Dr Rubenstein is state of the art. You won't get better. He is also very pleasant, and communicates well with patients. Marta, my hygienist is the best also, and a very nice person. Nelly and Claudia manage the office. They also do a great job and are a pleasure to deal with. Once, I had an issue with my dental insurance, they immediately went to bat for me, to resolve it.
