Misrepresentation, Pre-Charging without consent, and Privacy Breach. I do not recommend Nikisha Jodhan. Across three procedures from 2021 to 2025, after reviewing the history of my account, I was quoted a lower price each time and then billed more after the procedures were done. They blamed the insurance and the app they use to estimate, but the fact is they don't do pre-authorization for their quotes. For my recent procedure in 2025, they failed to disclose a prior denial for the same code and same tooth from 2021, yet still gave me a quote that was wrong and later told me the insurance "unexpectedly declined" the same code. They also pre-charged me before insurance finished processing, without my consent, which broke their own policy and added confusion to the bill. This left me questioning whether they already anticipated there would be a remaining balance - otherwise, the pre-charge and refund back doesn't make any sense. When I reviewed the documents they sent me, I also found another patient's EOB in my file. Overall, this office shows a pattern of low quoting followed by higher bills, lacks transparency in billing, and fails to safeguard patient privacy. If this is their standard practice, I can only imagine how many patients may have ended up with the same experience I had. read more

Dr N. Jodhan refused to respond to 5+ of my calls - she was mileading, misrepresented my pay by over $1000, and I believe manipulating. Their staff estimated my service to be $2000+ for a tooth extraction, for which they estimated my insurance would pay half the amount, leaving my responsibility to be $1061.00. to which I paid before I left the premise. A month or two later, I received a bill for $1076.50 - the amount my insurance denied. Looking back, I realized I was naive and they manipulated the situation. I thought they would be accurate by merit that Dr. Jodhan's was a professional organization, that their estimates were accurate based on experience. It was after they put my apron for surgery was put that that said I needed to confirm. I assumed that because they were professionals, I might be obligated to pay $100-200. Also, when though the estimated included a tooth graft, they have the recommendation again - thinking back they knew it was optional all along! $1000+ is a huge amount. Knowing that the insurance company pays a substantially lesser amount than the listed price. And their estimate was way off. I called to discuss a mutually responsible settlement. After ignoring 5+ calls, Dr. Nikisha Jodhan instructed that I could pay the full amount with a payment plan. I find her actions to be irresponsive, manipulative, and misleading--which will cost me $1000+ more than I expected She offered a payment plan after I declared to publicize my experience. I am setting up the payment plan, and I plan to share my experience. I have sent her a similar email--continuing to request discussion. She has not responded. Dr. Jodhan goes above and beyond for her patients. She is commendable and professional. My first visit was exceptional and thorough. She and her assistant shared detailed information so that I could comprehend the treatment I was going to need. Dr. Jodhan explained the procedures and was empathetic about my anxiety when visiting the dentist. She is an extremely reliable and really takes time with her patients . I am glad my coworker recommended her to me. I have gone for my follow ups every 4 months so that my teeth are highly maintained. Was told I'd need an expensive ct scan that insurance doesn't cover before they can do any work for an implant...... the two surgeons I saw in Nashville never did this.... They just want to take your money for an unnecessary test when the X-rays work just fine. It's annoying and pissed me off before I left my 6 week old baby with my husband who was working from home to make this appointment. If they have this hidden fee for a "necessary scan" you can only imagine the other added fees and upcharges they'll do for any procedure. Just had my check up and cleaning after my laser gum surgery. Amazing friendly staff and the assistant Amy who cleaned my teeth was so friendly and she put me at ease right away. Everything went smoothly she was thoughtful and gentle yet very thorough. Dr Jodhan came in to check my teeth and was pleased with the results and set me up for 3 month follow up with her to treat one of my back gums that is having an issue. I have no pain or discomfort and Dr Jodhan wants to make sure the gum is as it should be. So, I've never even had a cavity in my life and have never had to get any oral work done. My gums had receded and I knew I had to get gum grafting done. Dr. Jodhan was recommended to me by a friend and she sounded like she was worth the drive (I live in the south loop). She and the rest of the team made the whole experience great! I've been seeing Dr. Jodhan every 6 months for a check-up and cleaning for several years, since my former periodontist retired. Went in to have the second half of a tooth removed (the first half was chipped off in a hockey accident) and to get a bone graph for an eventual implant in the future. First, the receptionist was extremely nice and calmed me down as I was a little nervous about having oral surgery. She promised it would be painless and easy. Which brings me to number 2. I have a very low threshold of pain. That's one of the major reasons why I don't like going to see the dentist. Finally, circumstances had forced me to finally go get my teeth checked out. I found Dr. Jodhan from all the health review websites, saying that she was the best periodonist in the Skokie area. I had such high expectations, but I was hesitant, since usually I always leave disappointed. I made an appointment with Ms. Marianna (sp?), the receptionist, and she is so incredibly sweet and nice. It was easy breezy. When I went in, Dr. Jodhan was warm and friendly, but she was also extremely knowledgeable, professional, as well as extremely thorough. I also like the fact that she is very sanitary-conscious and organized, and you can tell by seeing that her treatment area is clean and sterile. She was the first periodontist who gave me a full and complete comprehensive exam that was more thorough than the other periodontists I've seen in the past. She is also pretty gentle and asked if I was doing alright throughout the whole procedure. I was searching for a periodontist to do gum grafting procedure for four of my teeth. My regular dentist has recommended me to go to a periodontist in Evanston. He seems to be the doctor to go in Evaston. After consulting with him, I realized that not only he is out of my insurance network (which means I will most likely need to pay more), he also requires me to get a custom made guard for my gum grafting procedure. The guard will not be covered by insurance and has to be out of pocket. I decided to seek a second opinion, so I came to Dr. Jodhan after finding her in my Metlife dental insurance provider list with exceptional yelp review. So I had my consultation with her at the beginning of January. Truthfully, I was really hesitant to move forward with the procedure since I heard several bad experience with gum grafting in general. Also I was told by the previous periodontist that the procedure will require me to avoid exercise for 2 weeks and be on limited diet for 2 weeks. It really put a negative feel in my heart to get this procedure done. Thanks for my upcoming expiring medical spending account, I move fast to make appointment with the office in March and was able to schedule quickly within 10 days. I was nervous through the procedure (even though I grew up seeing dentist all my life with tons of procedure done in my life on my teeth). The procedure was about an hour and half (3 gum grafting) without any problems. To my amazement, the after surgery was much easier and not much pain. I was given three Motrin before the procedure but didn't need any pain medication after at all through my recovery. I just went in for my suture removal yesterday. It looks like my gum is doing well. I will need to go back 2 weeks later for suture removal since one part of the gum is still "working" on itself. A speical note, the instruction and care I was given was great. Dr. Jodhan was quick to reply for my question through text the night of my procedure when I wasn't sure what to do with rinsing. I was able to exercise a few days after. I realized that my insurance only approved 2 of the three gums (since two were next to each other). Dr. Jodhan went ahead and did all three teeth even though she knows she is not paid for working on that extra part. I am so blown away with her service. When I told my doctor friend why my procedure didn't require any pain medication, she simply said that I must have a great surgeon. I totally agree! I would totally recommend Dr. Jodhan for gum grafting procedure. The staffs were helpful for helping me with inisurance and understand my financial responsibility before the procedure. My gums have been receding for years and the area around two teeth was especially of concern. My dentist referred me to Dr. Jodhan to talk about what could be done to improve the situation. She explained the corrective procedure in detail with a slide show. I was immediately impressed with her and felt very comfortable in her care. I don't love work being done in my mouth, but it was pretty much pain free from start to finish. We did the graft two weeks ago today and I'm very happy with the results.
