Have never reviewed a medical facility before but feel compelled to do so. My family arrived at this office when Dr. Ferrari moved his practice. Every time one of us had an appointment they pushed all kinds of 'extra' services, none of which were covered by insurance. In addition, their billing is HORRIBLE. I had a crown done in February and they still have not submitted this claim correctly to get paid and continually send me bills and give me excuses as to why this has not been submitted. One of the office associates said they are going to file a claim with the state against Metlife for not paying when they haven't even submitted this bill to be paid other than one time and MetLife told me they submitted with incorrect codes. This is still an issue 8 months later!!!! Found a new dentist and we could not be happier!!!! read more

Big Thank You to dental Hygienist Melissa for introducing me to laser treatment after my cleaning. Acierno dental invested in the newest technology using lasers for dental procedures. Yesterday after my cleaning I received my 1st treatment. Instead of pain from the cleaning I felt soothing and noticed instant relief I was astounded as the night went on no pain. According to Melissa the healing of the gums continues for 30 days. I have been a patient of Acierno Dental before the new Office opened and love the convenience of the new location. I went to Acierno Dental in 2023. It started when I had a tooth ache so my friend recommended them. They fixed the tooth, all went well, so I went there for a cleaning. After taking X-rays I was told that I need 2 root canals and 5 crowns! The second root canal ended up being a major oral surgery getting to the root through the gum above. The procedure was excruciating and my sinuses were punctured. I was bruised and swollen and had to take a few days off work. All this was done even though I had no pain or any issues with my teeth. 2 root canals, 3 crowns and about $5000 later out of my pocket while having a good insurance, I was told that I need to come back to do 3 extra crowns. I decided to move the appointments to 2024 due to lack of funds and being exhausted from all the procedures. I was also told that I needed a deep cleaning which is painful and expensive since insurance doesn't cover all the cost. I've done that and then I kept coming back every 3 months to do the cleaning which cost me $350 a visit. They told me that due to periodontists, I will need to get my teeth cleaned every 3 months for the rest of my life. Today, May 2024, I went to a different dentist to get a second opinion. He didn't know anything about my experience with Acierno Dental. I went in, got X-rays done and my teeth cleaned. I got complemented on how good my gums looked and after the cleaning the dr said that he will see me in 6 months for another cleaning and that all looked good. I was in shock! No work needed to be done? No thousands of dollars to spend?! I couldn't believe it. So, here it is. I will never go back to Acierno again. I truly believe that last year they put me through so much physical pain and anxiety for only one reason, to make thousands of dollars. Beware of this practice. They will lie to you to make money. It makes me very sad knowing that they are putting people through these painful and costly procedures. I don't know how these people sleep at night :( read more

I went in for my crown and was pleasantly surprised to see that it went a lot faster than my last one did at my dentist of 20 years. I'm so glad I made the switch. Dr. Smith is amazing!!! He is so friendly and kind and his staff is absolutely fabulous including Carly Annie and the rest of the office! They even were kind enough to help me find insurance that will give me the best possible rates on all their services. They go over and beyond what most places do. Great staff, clean, and simply the best service I have received in a long time. I get my teeth cleaned religiously. I can't afford to lose the ones I have and I will practically pay anything to make sure I take great care of my teeth... yes, obsessed!!! Thanks to Groupon, I get to "shop" around for dental places that are in the area. I totally hit the jackpot with this one. Here's why: Spacious office with plenty of seating (in case you have wait) Friendly and efficient front desk person No long wait Knowledgeable and extremely friendly doctors and staff Extreme attentiveness by all staff State of the art dental equipment (possibly more bells and whistles but I only came for cleaning so these were my observation from my first visit) Kim (dental hygienist) was knowledgeable and personable. She made the 'dirty' side of teeth cleaning tolerable. She really got down to every millimeter of plaque. It took longer than my usual cleaning but then again I'm obsessed with cleaning so I was really happy. She gave me helpful advise to ensure I keep my teeth and gum healthy. She was amazing!!! Dr Di Franco (dentist) was friendly and shared all her findings with me and took the time to ensure my concerns were addressed. Dr Acierno (dentist) went out of his way to greet every single patient in the office to introduce himself and made every one felt welcome to his practice. What a superb customer service!!! On the downside, during my 90 minute visit, I was moved to 3 different dentist chairs/rooms... I really don't know why. Went in to have my teeth cleaned. The hygienist, Danielle, was great. Super friendly and professional. The dentist was professional, however, spoke with me super briefly before saying a bunch of technical stuff to the hygienist without explaining it to me and then left the room. At that point I was told I needed 7 fillings. I get my teeth cleaned at least twice a year. At my last dental visit, at another dentist, I was given a clean bill of health. Seems virtually impossible to go from teeth being fine to needing 7 fillings within a few months. This office is super nice and clearly paid for with tactics like offering a deal for a new patient then telling you that you need $1700 worth of fillings. Will not be back. There are plenty of great honest dentists in the area worthy of trust. read more

Scammers! They have this special for whitenning at Groupon and my teeth was more yellow after the procedure. Which was only one and not enough like they advertise. They brought up some other issue that I had to pay almost a thousand dollars. As I care for my teeth I paid, only to find out later by the same doctor that nothing changed and they wouldn't refund me. The staff in this place is amazing, but what out for the doctor and any agreement you night make with them. read more

We live in Chicago and have access to many local dentists, however we choose to drive up to Schaumburg to see Dr. Acierno for our dental needs. Why? Because although everyone hates going to the dentist, my husband actually has a VISCERAL reaction to it. No joke. The problem was so bad that, by the time we found Acierno Dental, he hadn't been to the dentist in YEARS. So aside from a much-needed cleaning, the neglect Chris had imposed on his teeth had caused him to need a laundry list of MAJOR dental work...all of which had to be performed on a guy who literally freaks out at the sight of drills and needles (and DOES NOT trust dentists). Dr. Acierno had his hands full with him, to say the least... But they did it! As of today, my husband has GORGEOUS teeth, which was made possible by a couple of things: First, Dr. Acierno and his staff made my husband feel at ease from the very start. They have a nice, friendly vibe going in that office...very welcoming and personable. And if you tell them about your issues in advance, they will address them head-on, as well as throughout your treatment. Second, Dr. Acierno is at the cutting edge of his profession. The access to expertise that we've had at Acierno Dental is notable when compared to dentists we've encountered in the past...and I'm no newbie to major dental work! Going to the dentist isn't always a pleasant activity, in fact I usually dread it. However, I think a large part of the reason is why is because I've never actually had a good experience, or was fortunate enough to have a quality dentist. So when I had waited as long as I possibly could and my tooth finally cracked due to a filling I had gotten when I was younger, and I needed to have the filling taken out, refilled, and capped... I didn't know where to go as well as who was good and who wasn't. I did some research online, called a few places for pricing quotes and also to gauge how friendly or unfriendly the receptionist was: basically I was looking for a positive, feel-good vibe. Something that let me know I was going to be taken care of and not advantage of. So that's why I chose Acierno. It paid off because I had a good experience with both the dental assistant who was very attentive, kind, and friendly as well as the dentist who did an excellent job refilling my tooth and then capping it. When it came time for payment the staff worked with me and made it very comfortable and easy. I paid a portion of the bill and then they said I could pay the rest once everything was set with my insurance. Top notch dentist in every area of a business and it made all the difference. I actually look forward to going to the dentist these days. That's saying something. I started going to Acierno Dental in August of 2013 after a three year lull in my dental visits. I think they saw me at least once a month until the next January. But everyone is so nice there, they do such good work, that I didn't honestly mind. I had a crown and several fillings done, and they were always willing to make sure that the work was satisfactorily, even if I have to stop by and get things adjusted. They took me in short notice because of a very painful toothache. Dr. Breen and Jess were very understanding and clear on what procedures I needed. Dr. also prescribed me some meds, one of which would help the pain. This happened Friday afternoon. As soon as I tried to fill the Rx the office is already closed. Pharmacy informs me that the DEA number has expired and they can't give me the painkillers. The office is closed for the weekend. The pain is at an 8/10. Let's see if I make it through the weekend. I'll try whiskey first. Then, a very high cliff if that doesn't work. read more

Dr.Breen worked on me removing a root a previous dentist left in that was causing me pain. Pulls the root n says good thing we got it an infection was starting sends me home with pain killers but NO antibiotic. I go back within a week from extraction still in pain , he taps on my teeth n says u have a sinus infection then gives me an antibiotic. Needless to say I ended up in emergency surgery with a 4x2 abscess on side of my check. He is not thorough, infectious disease doctor looked at it , oral surgeon , he transferred the infection through the novicane shots . If an infection is starting u put the patient on antibiotics so it doesn't get worse. Thank u for that horrible experience. read more

I have been going to Acierno Dental for over ten years. His staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Like Dr Acierno himself the patient comes first. He wants you to be comfortable, informed, and healthy. If you need a procedure beyond cleaning he gives you options. I have always followed his advice and was never disappointed with the results or cost. Acierno Dental offers their own dental plan for those of us who don't have employee insure. Terrific idea on his part a a great deal for his patients. First! Ok. Well, my mom and brother go to this dentist so naturally, I have started going here as well. Now, I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years so I was pretty nervous when I went for my first appointment but seriously, everyone here is so nice. The receptionists and dental hygienists were all smiles and even gave me a little tour. I've been a few times since for various things and they all greet me by name the minute I walk in. Dr. Acierno is extremely nice and seems to genuinely care about his patients. I actually had work done by his associate, Dr. Di Franco who was equally as kind and gentle. I had to get a shot in my mouth, the thought of which made my blood race and heart pound, but she was so understanding and made me feel very relaxed. She even called me after my appointment today to see how I was feeling. Who does that?! Honestly. That really showed me how much that team cares. The hygenist was awesome the receptionist was sweet also..however...and here is the however....Dr "Dan" however told me "I had a cracked tooth" and this required a root canal/crown situation....this would involve two lengthy visits and hit me up at almost 2000.00 dollars....guess what....I have never had major dental work and this seemed odd....went to a new dentist....I DO NOT HAVE A CRACKED TOOTH...it makes me so disgusted that this Dr. Dan TOLD ME FALSELY that i needed major restorative work...omg SOOOOOO glad i never went through with his 'recommendation'.....please...be careful of false dental procedures...makes me sick.... read more

I got a coupon at the Schaumburg Boomers game last year for a $59 teeth cleaning, including x-rays and exam. Shortly after made an appointment for the cleaning. The people were friendly. Took x-rays and looked at my teeth. Then Dr. Acierno said I needed more than basic cleaning, used fear tactic "you wouldn't want to lose your teeth would you?" Of course not. Made no attempt at any cleaning. When I stopped at front desk to consider another appointment, was told the cleaning would be $720! I politely left. Then made appointment for the very good cleaning for $49 at the place I had been on near north side of Chicago the year before. That place is out of my way but they are honest. Acierno's coupon is just a come-on to get people in to his office. A few weeks later I got a large over $150 bill, for no cleaning; and no agreement for anything.
