I needed an emergency visit bc my filling cracked on my front tooth. my child accidentally head banged my mouth and it cracked a bit causing me so much pain. They have a location close to me but apparently she only works one day there.. so I drove all the way to downers grove location to be seen. Took me an hour to get to this location. I got there 25 mins early only to be waiting over an hour to be taken back. Once I got taken back they took X-rays and sat me down. The doctor came in fairly quick after the X-rays and looked at my tooth and told me I would need to wait another 45 mins for her to redo my filling that cracked. After I sat there and told her I have a baby at home did she just do it for me. But It felt very rushed... PLEASE CONSIDER ELSEWHERE!! read more

Myself and my daughter have been seen in this office separately and had the same awful experience. The dentist had no interest in speaking to us once the cleaning and x-rays were done. I had been there on a couple different times and its been the same, made us feel like just a number not a patient. They are extremely rude if you miss an appointment and basically warn you that you will not beable to come back there, yet will call you to solicit there services consistently. If you have a chance to go elsewhere, you should consider that. The dentist and staff are too focused on the political badge of wearing a Covid mask in 2025, while doing a deceptively bad job of teeth cleaning: very little cleaning near the gum margins, which is vital as a patient get older. I chose this place over another dentist, and suspected I was being treated as a second-class citizen because the dentist had one of those "positive pressure " suits. Only upon reflection did I understand that it wasn't "for all her patients' welfare, as she claimed, but owed mostly to the dentist's inchoate phobia of catching something from her patients. It was only after her pressure outfit became ridiculously uncomfortable for her that she gave it up. You have to ask yourself if it is possible that this phobia exists is it also possible that she is refraining from doing a thorough job for some peculiar reason. read more

The billing is complicated. I went in for a cleaning and they recommended a deep cleaning with xray and then when I saw the billing they supposedly charge by quadrant for cleaning hence top left and right and then bottom left and right. Basically, you will see a charge multiplied by 4 :-(. How hard is it to give a flat rate for teeth cleaning for all of our teeth. Even with my top-notch insurance, I had do pay hundreds of dollars more for cleaning ( obviously take into account the 4x charges). They also make sure you sign everything about the rates ahead so that you have zero wiggle room later (which I am okay with) but they get you things to sign during the treatment. While having my teeth cleaning process they mention I have a cavity and with all the equipment in my mouth, a person shows up with the form to sign to make sure they can charge me for the cavity filling :-(. Overall I want to like this place but with the questionable billing practices, it makes me think again to do any additional treatments here again especially when simple treatments like teeth cleaning seem to cost so much additional even with insurance. read more

I left this practice and requested my disabled daughter's medical records. I had to go in the office to sign a form. I told them, in person, why I was leaving the practice. A week later, I am sent a certified letter telling me, in part, "it has become apparent, because of a breakdown in our dentist-patient relationship, which is necessary fir optimal care, your dental needs would be better met elsewhere".... Listen, I left your practice because your office did not give the proper care and attention to my special needs daughter. She is on medicaid but twice a year you are paid by the State to do a cleaning, a thorough exam. She went in your office and you spent less than 15 minutes to do the cleaning and exam!! How do you do a thorough exam and cleaning in 15 minutes? You treated her with less attention because she is on medicaid That's why I took her from your care. She had a cleaning this week with a new dentist. They spent an hour and 20 minutes with her. The dentist came out to talk to me and I felt, for once, someone cared to do a deep cleaning and exam. Your certified letter was not necessary and a passive aggressive way of shaming her. I left you! You should have saved the money you spent on a certified letter and just left it alone. These people are absolutely PREYING on those with state Medicaid. I'm 21 and about to get off of my All Kids insurance. I've switched between a lot of dentists but this was one that was able to get me in while I was home from college. Went in the first time, got X-rays done, and had two cavities and an apparent "root canal" that needed to be done. I was given a referral to an endodontist to get it taken care of. She patched up one of the fillings and said that I would need to come back another time because she doesn't have time for the other one. Keep in mind I had already waited 1.5 hours PAST my initial appointment time. I wasn't able to come back until a month later. I told her that I have EXTREME pain in the filling that she did. She took some X-rays and continued to gaslight the absolute life out of me that I was making it up and that I was going to need another root canal. She then completed the last filling and what do you know? It hurts like an absolute bitch. I just went to a family friend who is an endodontist and he was absolutely shocked that she thought I needed TWO root canals. He patched up the root canal until I'll be able to come back and then he is going to open up all the fillings and redo them. Safe to say this lady is a total con artist. Would not be surprised if her credentials came off the internet. Wish I could give them -1000 stars. Worst place ever. Call your insurance company and they will give you a list of so many other places that accept your insurance and make sure you read the reviews. read more

This facility takes on special need children and accepts medicaid. However, due to the small amount of reimbursement they get from the State of illinois, I don't feel they spend enough time cleaning their teeth. Special needs adults and kids deserve the same amount of attention as the people with great insurance. The cleanings are about 10 minutes. This practice does not care for the disabled as they should. read more

they are the worst people to deal with incompetence I live in Darien and I have a heart problem I personally pick up medical form and I had my doctor fill it out and the same day I dropped it off I set up a appointment and then I get there for appointments and they had me sitting in chair for a hour and they te me that they don't have the right medicine for me to do anything dental work and they told me that they would have to set up amother appointment out in Aurora so I have to wait and I'm in pain so I go to the new appointment three weeks later and they have me check in only to tell me that they don't use what I need for my medical and they have my history so I ask for my negative filled out form and it 5 /8/ 2023 I st have not gotten them they are the worst dental place and I reported them to state agency shut them down read more

My both daughters are the patients of Alivio Dental. We have no problem with older daughter, she just loves coming here. But as a mom, I really wanted the best first experience for my younger daughter (she is 5) and I really recommend to all parents with little children to bring their kids to Alivio Dental for the first visit. My 5 year old was really afraid and scared, but as soon as Doctor stepped into the room and started talking to her, her fair disappeared. Doctor took her time, showed the equipment, she was very gentle and understanding that first dental visit is very very important for little kids. I don't know how to thank her!!! If I could give them zero stars, I would. We needed a new dentist and insurance gave me this recommendation because of how conveniently close they are to me. I waited an hour in the waiting room then an add'l 20 min in the chair. My cleaning took all of maybe 20 minutes and probably the worst I have ever had. It was very rushed. I left there thinking maybe I didnt need too much. The Dr was in a hazmat suit and I could not even hear her or understand what she was trying to say. It was VERY uncomfortable. It would have been nice if I could meet the Dr and not stare into a tiny little window that surrounded her face to try and read her lips. The cherry on the Sundae was when I had a scheduled appt the following week for a replacement crown, and they called me twice to try and get me to go to their Aurora office instead. Sorry, not when the DG office is 2 miles from me. They canceled my appt then and said they would call me back with a new time, and a week later, I still havent gotten a phone call back to reschedule. I called today to cancel my husbands first new patient appt for the next day, and told them we will be looking for a new family dentist. A BIG waste of time. read more

I went in a few days ago for an exam and X-rays. The female doctor didn't seem very friendly or interested in my concerns. She did go over my X-rays with me and I asked her some questions because her prognosis is different than what other dentists have told me then she told me this is what I needed and her staff can tell me how much and that was it. I called back and asked what they were going to do with my wisdom teeth because they weren't really clear. Once they showed me pricing and I said I would have to come back or think about it they just wanted me out. I'm going back for a cleaning this week so we will see how this visit goes. Update: After leaving that day I called back and decided to make an apt for a cleaning because they have an offer for 30% all dental work on Yelp. I went in and was told that I couldn't use that offer because it already is 30% off which would have been fine if they were more clear. When I made the apt I asked specifically about it and asked how much the cleaning was which they never told me it was already discounted. Ive also called and asked them how much a cleaning was and the lady told me it was $99 so if you're putting an offer out there to be 'claimed' and someone asks how much something is they don't just assume that its already discounted. thats something that should be said at the beginning. They decided not to honor it after I had said something to reception and the dentist. She proceeded to show me its already discounted and gave me a piece of paper that said if I left a google review I could get $50 credit cash toward my account. So I asked the receptionist if this can go towards the cleaning price of $99 and she said yes so really they are telling me they care more about getting a review than just making the customer happier and honoring something I came in for. I don't have time to find a new dentist right now and I dont have a lot of options of what dentist I can go to with my insurance so we will see. I also have a missing tooth and she didn't say anything about what to do about that. Will update after. I ended up just getting a fill because thats what my insurance covered. It was quick. She numbed where the fill was going and put a shot in my mouth before the fill. It would've been nice if she told me she was going to put a needle in my gums but there was no warning. Terrible experience with this company and I never even got to go in for an appointment! I called last week on Thursday 2/11 in extreme pain from a couple of teeth asking for them to schedule an appt. The girl I spoke with said they didn't have any openings but she was pretty sure that the Aurora location did Friday morning. She said she would email them as soon as we got off the phone. I called an hour later on my way home because I couldn't stay at work due to all the pain I was in. I was balling my eyes out on the phone and she knew I was in pain. She said she hasn't heard anything yet. I asked her if I should go to the ER because no one else will take Meridian Insurance in the area. She and her co-worker agreed. I did not go to the ER or Urgent Care because there really wasn't anything they could do to help. I know this because I called so my time and money atleast wasn't wasted by them! THEN, TODAY (2/18) LITERALLY A WEEK LATER I get a call from them!! I said I'm sorry you're a little late and that now I'm out $6,000 when my insurance would've covered the visit. Thanks Alivio for truly disappointing a could've been LOCAL customer! I will NEVER go to this dental office or any of the other locations and will be sure to tell my friends, co-workers, family, customers, etc. about my terrible experience!! read more

Went here to have just x-rays done for my wisdom teeth and instead she decided that she would do a full exam. Didn't really care because it still was $39 bucks. I explained where my pain was and she didn't even remember where I had said my painful spots were. So when she was doing the exam poking around in my mouth she hit the painful area where one of my wisdom teeth are killing me because it's pressing up against my Moller. I cringed and she didn't even care. Then showed me my x-rays after I go put into more pain from her poking around. And then is more concerned with my 2 cavities I have then helping with ideas about my wisdom teeth. Then she says she can't do them and needs to refer me for oral surgery. The place she referred me to is the Illinois dentist college in Chicago... Sorry I'm not driving to Chicago and the driving myself back all drugged up.. She is a horrible dentist.. Her staff is rude and not knowledgeable just like she is... I'm sorry I hate the dentist but this one kinda put me over the edge hard-core.... Thanks Will never go to her again. Be aware! There is one female doctor who always pushs for xrays. Even if you singed a form that you refuse it. I told her I am pregnant and I'm coming just for regular cleaning. And she did the same with my child. Two years old, just a regular check up and she was pushing for xrays. I don't know what is her deal!!! She even Apologize for anything. I've gone to other dentists and had a sore mouth for days afterward. Great dentist experience. They actually use cameras to show you on the television what is going on inside your mouth. I have never had a dentist do that before. I would highly recommend Dr. Kaur, she will be my dentist as long as I am in the area. read more
