I left crushed and upset as I was looking forward to having that tooth gone that day. So a coworker recommended Dr. Strain and called him for me. They extracted the tooth 8:30am the next day. I HAVE NEVER HAD A DENTIST WHO'S HANDS WERE SO GENTLE, LIKE AN ANGEL. I have had a ridiculous amount of extractions over my life and this extraction had the least pain, actually no pain. I would recommend Dr Strain to everyone, especially people who are anxious and have had other dentists cause pain or minimalized their pain. During each procedure, the team explained what they were doing, managing my expectations extremely well. They work well together as colleagues in a nurturing environment are able to do. They were very considerate of any pain, checking in frequently to ensure everything went as comfortably as possible. Dr. Morgan is massively competent, knowledgeable about all the most up-to-date techniques and technology. She gave me the best tip ever to mitigate my strong gag reflex that has worked like a charm. That tidbit earned her my eternal gratitude. The wonderful people aren't the only great thing about Metairie Dental Centre. Since the facility's renovation several years ago, the waiting room is spacious and comfortable, with complimentary coffee and calming décor. The exam rooms are also more spacious and have TVs attached to the ceiling for patients to watch during their procedures. Everything looks so nice, like the reveal from an HGTV show. The piéce de resistance is the charming powder room. It features a glorious mural of a moody swamp scene painted by the practice owner Dr. Murphy's high school-age daughter. It's taken me ages to get the courage to go back to any dentist. But today I went back to Dr.Campo & he'll be my dentist forever. He's thorough, explained everything to me, gentle as could be & knows what he's doing. I trust him completely. And as for his STAFF... he's lucky to have every single one working for him. Sophia, Katherine & Amanda were so incredibly helpful & it's clear they love working together. So friendly, lots of fun to talk to & that makes me know I'm in the best of hands there. During her procedure, she repeatedly told the dentist that something was hurting and that she felt a lot of blood in her mouth. Despite expressing her concerns several times, she did not feel that she was being taken seriously. At one point, she had to sit up because she was spitting out a large amount of blood and had already swallowed quite a bit of it. When she mentioned what was happening, she was told that it was "just water." She was left with a significant injury inside her mouth, along with pain and swelling. What disappointed us most was not only the injury itself, but also the lack of concern, communication, and empathy shown toward the patient throughout the situation. The only solution offered was a prescription for medication, without a clear explanation or proper follow-up. We cannot recommend this office.
