I don't usually write reviews, but my experience here absolutely deserves one. From the moment I walked in, the entire team made me feel welcome and at ease. The front desk staff was friendly, professional, and efficient -- scheduling was simple, and I never felt rushed or like "just another patient." The office itself is spotless, modern, and very well organized. You can tell they take pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. That alone goes a long way in a dental setting. As for the actual dental care -- outstanding. My dentist took the time to explain everything clearly before starting any work. I really appreciated that nothing felt rushed or pressured. They walked me through my options, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and made sure I understood what was happening and why. That level of communication builds trust, and it made a big difference for me. During the procedure, they were gentle, attentive, and constantly checking to make sure I was comfortable. I've had dental visits in the past that left me anxious, but this was completely different. It was genuinely one of the most comfortable dental experiences I've had. What really stands out is the professionalism and integrity of the practice. I never felt upsold or pushed into unnecessary treatments. Everything recommended made sense and was explained logically. If you're looking for a dentist who is skilled, honest, patient-focused, and runs a well-managed office, I highly recommend this practice. My daughter was quoted 310 for a cleaning. After the exam she was quoted an additional 450 for a deep cleaning. She misunderstood thinking upon her return she would pay. Devin spoke to her and threatened to call the police if she didn't pay. My daughter has never been to jail before. I also spoke to Devin and she said if she doesn't pay she will call the police. I was livid. I asked if she could be billed and she said "no ". I'm not sure what type of office this is but she won't be returning. This is awful to treat a single parent who works hard and doesn't have dental insurance. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Lacey for close to six years. After moving to New Orleans in 2011 I went to several dentists and an endodontist before her and her office is the best. They always have new things- advanced technology, partnerships for care, curtains, etc. She is always learning new things and expanding what care she can offer patients. Initially I went to her because I had a root canal that failed twice. She was the first one to say she thought the tooth was cracked, and she was right! I've had a complicated set of inherited problems and she has treated them. My sister (who lives across the country) also has similar issues and has struggled to find regular, specialized care. With Dr. Lacey we have done the same palette expansion. I've had regular visits, top of the line imaging, and gained 7mm of space. When I didn't need the follow up Invisiline (like my sister did have to have), she was honest with me, and that saved me thousands of dollars and years of treatment! Very grateful to have found her. The team is terrific- all the hygienists, dentists and office personnel have been professional and thorough. Now my extended family has started going to Southern Dental. Love these ladies! read more

My office experience was terrible a few years ago I went there because I was having tooth sensitivity. X-rays were done I was told I needed a root canal & crown and that the job could be done the same day. 1st red flag. I am an orthodontic/dental assistant and I know for a fact that's not how it's suppose to be done. You get a temporary crown until your gums heal then you get a permanent one. Then they wanted all monies up front no payment plan was offered to me. Words cannot explain how considerate, sweet, genuine, endearing and generous this group of dental professionals are! I was able to book in for emergency dental and I have to say, I have been in La for three years now and I've never been treated as nicely as this business treated me. Everyone from the receptionist to Dr. Lacy, each person had the most wonderful demeanor. They are offering free dental care for veterans on Veteran's Day as they know how backed up the VA is right now! At one point I was even offered some pizza that arrived for their lunch! Hi, my name is Sylvina Montana. I was referred to this office by my sister who was also a patient there and has changed dentist since then. I was very impressed with the appearance of the office and thought the staff was very friendly. After a few visits and a bridge on my lower right side. My impression of this office has changed. My bridge is completely off, there is no occlusion on my bridge. My premolar has a glide and a gap when closed. The assistants do the occlusion adjustment, that's not for an assistant to do it's the dentist job. I was not impressed with that. Almost a year later and my bite is completely off and had since then lost 28 pounds. I don't mind losing all that weight but I would like to look healthy with it, except I am not. I am hoping Dr Lacey can correct this major problem. I am not going to bash a professional's work I just hope she can resolve this major issue.!!! read more

Two stars for the limit of two times your allowed to be scared in Dr. Lacey's office. After that she doesn't allow you to reschedule with her again. I showed up to both appointments but my anxiety (documented) and needlephobia (documented) made my heart race and I wasn't able to let her complete my service. I let Dr. Lacey and her assistant know that this is how I process. Dr. Lacey asked me to come up with a plan if I reschedule. After taking a few minutes in the waiting room I came up with a plan. Even while waiting to reschedule I offered to pay for my appointments, since they complained about how me not completing my appointments messes up their schedule because they could have scheduled someone else. I guess my level of nervousness is too much for her. If you have fear of needles or anxiety during medical appointments, this isn't the office for you. read more

Unexceptional bang for the buck. Our initial appointment was basically an X-ray and another appointment for later oral surgery. I've been to other places in town where you get a complete profile and treatment plan worked up for the same money. Disappointing. read more

So we had the first appointment of the day at 8am. My kids were new patients, their first visit, so I was asked to arrive 15 mins ahead of time to fill out paperwork. Nice waiting room with comfortable seating and a television; however, no one was at the desk upon arrival. We could hear loud laughing and talking in the back, but there was no bell to ring to notify staff of a patient arrival. We had to wait until 8am for someone to come from the back to the front desk. I was then asked to fill out a lengthy questionnaire on an iPad on behalf of my kids. Someone came and called them both to the back but didn't offer for me (the parent) to accompany them. I finished the questionnaire in the waiting room and went to the bathroom to wash my hands. The bathroom was right there in the waiting room and easy to find but there was feces in the toilet when I entered. I attempted to flush it, but it took several attempts because the plumbing (refilling of the toilet was extremely slow) - maybe a water pressure issue. After washing my hands, I asked if I could go in the back by my kids. I was permitted. It is a busy office. However, getting there 15 mins early was an unnecessary waste of time, since no one was available to start the registration process. The dental hygienist was nice and friendly. 5/5 on her friendliness. Cleanliness of the office was about a 3/5. There is a large accordion like electrical cover on the floor that was absolutely caked with dirt and dust. Sterileness (hygienist going from inside the patients mouth to the handle of the power tools - i.e. water sprayer and suction machine and back again) was concerning, because I can see that they change out and sterilize the heads of the tools (actual suction straw, etc.), but I'm curious as to what the procedure is to clean the handles of these instruments in between patients, for even though the hygienists' hands were gloved, her right hand went from inside the patients mouth to the handle of multiple power tools several times. Also, a different tech/ hygienist in another room obviously had a terrible cold because there was a lot of coughing. I can only hope she was masked, but with that kind of cough, it would have been better for her to stay home today. Finally, the music played is loud and not appropriate for a dentist's office that caters to children. There was at least one explicit lyric (sh*#) played in one of the songs. The other two were sexual in nature (Promiscuous Girl and the Bruno Mars one - something about "Sex by the fire all night.") The hygienist (btw) was singing that Bruno Mars song out loud while cleaning my child's teeth (which was awkward, uncomfortable and not appropriate). Finally, the actual dentist was fine. Young, nice, professional, introduced herself. Her entire dental oral exam lasted about 90 seconds. The dentist looked at the x-rays, "put a watch" on a couple of teeth and said that my daughter's teeth looked fine. I guess it doesn't take very long if there aren't any problems. You are strongly encouraged to make a 6 month follow up right then and there, but assured that you will be notified by multiple means (email, text, phone call, etc.) when the appointment is near and that there will be no problem with rescheduling if there is a conflict. Although, it seems like I have a lot of complaints, I still gave them 4 stars. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that there is a thorough cleaning of tool handles in between patients and assume the bathroom issue was an isolated incident. They really only lost a star because of the offensive music, a little dirt and because there was no one at the desk when I arrived, despite being asked to come 15 mins early.
