I brought my daughter for a cleaning. We decided to try this place because it was close. My daughter is 4 and had had a cleaning previously at a different dentist and we had a great experience but it was not close to our home. Our experience was extremely different at this dentist. First of all I did not like how close all of the children were sitting next to each other. They asked me if I wanted to wait in the waiting room and I said no, my daughter is too young. They allowed me to be with her but there was no where for me to sit while she got her teeth cleaned. Next they were unable to get her X-rays, even though she had them previously done at the other dentist with no problem. They barely tried and then said "oh well, maybe next time." I left and knew I would not return for any further cleanings at this place. 6 months later I get a call for an upcoming apt that I never scheduled. I called and told them to cancel it. Next I receive a bill in the mail for my cancelled apt. I have tried to call to clear it up and no one will pick up. So perhaps they can clear up my bill through my review. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

We were very disappointed with Dr. Shilman. Her bedside manor was poor at best and her personal demeanor is insecure and abrasive. Further, my two children had terrible infections after their dental work that required a weekend visit to another dental location. We will not be returning. read more

I am so glad I've switched my children to Dentistry for children the atmosphere and work is especially made for kids and no kid should have to go to just a dentist office they need to go to a children's dentist the difference in service is huge! We think Dr.Lisa and her staff is amazing she has the answers to all of my questions and her work is excellent my son has Several procedures done he had multiple cavities and we had at least 8 visits in 6 months and they made the entire experience incredibly easy for him! Everyone there is great and I would give them more than 5 stars because they are wonderful ! I forgot to add that after every filling my son had Dr. Lisas assistant would call in later on the day just to make sure my son was doing well and that there was no issues. I am extremely dissatisfied with this location. I chose Children's Dentistry 12 years ago for my kids when they were a smaller group located in Woodstock, Ga. Over the years, they expanded offices and opened this Crabapple location. Don't let the cute interior fool you at Crabapple. Inefficient through and through, from scheduling conflicts with long waits to a revolving door of dentists. Expect to be there a min of two hours for minor procedures such as check ups/ cleaning and double that if major work needs to be done. Parents please do your research before choosing. I found a WONDERFUL new office for my kids and am very happy. read more

An indoor tree house. "Grass" on the ground. Unicorns in the bathroom. An enchanted fairyland? Almost, save for the addition of Xboxes, Monsters and Aliens on flat screens in every room, and, oh yeah, the faint buzzing of the tools of dentistry. My son was a little trepidatious for his first visit to the dentist. He hoped it would be just like his favorite episode of Caillou (a show he is no longer allowed to watch after shutting it off one day, and insisting on ice cream for breakfast) in which Caillou, who is also nervous, meets with a female dentist who makes him laugh, then invites him to choose cherry or bubblegum toothpaste for his teeth tickling. When we get there, he is so in awe of seeing a movie in a tree that he just stands there, jaw agape, until his name is called. Ms. Kathleen sits him down, and, almost on cue, he is giggling, and she is asking if he wants cherry or bubblegum. She quickly and efficiently polishes his teeth. He has a very brief meeting with the dentist, "Dr. Carlos", who "counts his teeth" with that usually scary looking metal pic thingy, then sets him loose-- but not before giving him a new toothbrush/floss/paste, a tshirt, and two tokens to put in the toy dispensers by the back door. While I'm not totally sure how I feel about an ambush of games and multimedia at a doctor's office, it's hard to complain with my son's smile... read more

Dr Lisa Shilman and her staff made ME want a dentist experience like the one my daughter had! :))) everyone treated my almost 3 year old like a VIP customer. We were admitted with little to no wait time, the hygienists were friendly and smiling with my daughter - even those who were just passing by - everyone stopped to say hello. The experience itself...professional, quick, caring. Dr Lisa Shilman clearly knew what she was doing - she explained to me what was going to happen and how I can help make it easy on my daughter. Dr Shilman acknowledged my daughter, talked softly to her throughout the procedure while also being efficient, so as to not upset my daughter. I was a bit anxious whether my daughter would comply - she has special needs, but to my surprise, everything went smoothly- my daughter was interested in her surroundings and the hygienists let her touch their tools in order to entertain her. He can be stubborn and afraid of new things, but they worked so well with him, and both children were able to receive excellent cleanings. Dr Lisa Shilman was very rough with my special needs toddler the first time I came to her. This second time she was nasty & refused to see my special needs toddler even though my child was still bleeding nonstop after the dental hygienist/assist did a teeth cleaning. I waited about 45 min to an hour with both my baby and for Dr Shilman to check my toddler's teeth after the cleaning. When Dr Lisa Shilman came in she had an attitude as I was getting off of my cell phone telling my husband I had to call him back. Dr Lisa Shilman told me that I had to get off the phone and that I can't be on the phone. The 2 employees (dental hygienists/asst) that were in the room before her cleaning my toddler's teeth had just told me that I could have my phone to take pictures but just not record. (Note that the 2 employees the dental assistants/hygienists were nice and friendly.) It's the dentist, Dr Shilman, who's the unfriendly, cold, and arrogant. Even though Dr Lisa Shilman spoked to me disrespectfully, like I wasn't an adult, I still immediately hung up telling my husband the dentist had just walked in. I told her that my toddler's mouth was still bleeding from the cleaning. My husband called right back because he didn't hear me the first time, I quickly told him I have to call him back and quickly hung up. So that he wouldn't call back. If it was anyone else besides my husband, I wouldn't have answered the phone. Even though I got off the phone with my husband immediately, and took out the time to explain to Dr Shilman my reason for answering the phone, she still got more of an attitude. I explained to her that it wasnt any old phone call, but it was important because He was delivering our car to the dentist office so that we'd have a way home and he had just gotten it out of the shop. Dr Lisa Shilman got even more nastier and told me that she was leaving the room & would not see my child. Mind you, Dr Lisa Shilman had just walked in and was still at the counter getting her things together talking off dental asst. My toddler was sitting in the patient chair waiting watching a kiddie video on her tablet. It's not like Dr Lisa Shilman was even ready to begin working on my daughter's mouth bec she had just walked in and hadn't even got her things together. If the dentist wants to walk out on my special needs child who's been waiting on her 45 min to an hour... fine, we will leave. We had no choice. Blanca, the front office manager was loud & rude, telling me there are signs for no cells phones in the back. There were no signs. Also, the 2 employees that were in the room with us had just told me that it was OK to have the phones in the back to take pictures, just not record. Since Dr Lisa Shilman, refused to see my daughter and told me that she was leaving the room, I left and I put both the kids in the car. My daughter's mouth was still bleeding. I went back inside the office to ask if Dr Lisa Shilman would at least check her bleeding mouth. No doctor had checked behind the dental hygienist or assistant's cleaning. Blanca from the front went back and asked Dr Shilman. Blanca returned with more attitude telling me that Dr Shilman told her that she would not check behind her staff's work. Even though my special needs toddler's (Dr Lisa Shilman's patient) mouth was still bleeding, Dr Shilman refused (for the 2nd time) to check her own patient who's bleeding and also a special needs child. How heartless and cruel is Dr Lisa Shilman? Does she even care about her patients? I was very sad for my child. I thought to myself that had no to take my daughter to a children's urgent care/ER to make sure that she was OK. Most children dentistries in the area would not take a new patient at last minute, with no appointment. I could not believe that Dr Lisa Shilman, a dentist for children, was so heartless when a child (her patient who her employees just caused mouth to bleed nonstop, would not have no concern at all to see if the patient is OK). This dentist has the coldest in her eyes to be a children's dentist. I also asked Blanca (office manager) my child's medical records to take to another doctor. She indirectly refused with a nasty attitude. She nastily told me that she would not talk to me about anything anymore. She went on to talk to another patient at the desk while I was still talking to her requesting my medical records. I requested my medical records many times. Blanca also refused to take the request in writing. When asking to to take the request form. She refused. Blanca repeated that she won't be dealing with me any further. Then Blanca started ignoring me by talking another patient, like I wasn't there. Blanca wouldn't allow any of the other front office staff to talk to me. They ignored me as well. I don't know how I'll get my medical records if they refuse to communicate with me including ignoring my requests for my child's medical records. read more

This is convenient and has great decor. We keep going back, despite having had mediocre experiences here and impatient staff dealing with my child and her gag reflex. We had a terrible experience where my child was given nitrous for a filling, per my request, but had a reaction where her inner ear pressure was building up and causing pain. The filling could not begin. Dr. Lisa Shilman came to the waiting room and was extremely irritated seeming like she did not believe my child and it didn't make sense to her. After me personally researching this as a side effect, it is indeed something that happens in a small percentage of people and can lead to the ear actually bleeding and ear drum rupturing. I am extremely upset and disappointed at how she treated me and my daughter. In addition, the front desk people were not nice or understanding as we were figuring out next steps. I found out later that Dr. Lisa had told my child that if she couldn't cooperate, she would just go to another room where she could actually do something - in a very impatient tone. This was the last thing my child needed when feeling the ear pain and pressure. The assistant was great, but unfortunately not enough for us to stay with this place - it is the final straw. read more

This is not a dental home for your child. This is the equivalent to a car wash...you drive through, the teeth get cleaned, and you leave. There is no patient care beyond their doorstep. My daughter had a routine filling done on a Friday morning. By Saturday her gum was swollen and she had a fever. I called the office and used every phone option to try to reach someone. They have an "emergency" option #5 but you just leave a message. In fact, no one answered any option on Saturday morning. Never said the office was closed-just let's you push options and "hold your place in line to get a call back." No message to tell you if there is another number to use for an emergency. Just tells you to wait for your turn and they will call you back! NO ONE EVER called back. We ended up in the urgent care and then the emergency room by Sunday and my child SUFFERED so much pain from an infection. I will never forget how badly she suffered! Or how no one called back from Dr Shillman's team at Dentistry for Children Roswell when I desperately needed them. The ER docs were equally appalled that we had been left without weekend access to care. So if you want a drive through car wash for your child's oral health- you have come to the right place. If you want an office that truly cares and ANSWERS THE PHONE when your child is in excruciating pain on a weekend...DO NOT USE Dentistry for Children!!! read more

Overtime we visited, we never wait long time to go in and theres a treehouse that my daughter love and it keeps her busy. Every doctors she had, they were very nice. I'm sorry. But we didn't have a good experience here at all with this Dentist. Particularly the Denist herself. With the convenience of this location, this facility could probably take on all the elementary and middle schools close by and even Roswell High. What a great market that could have been. However I could tell immediately we were just another check off the box to generate money. We were up-sold on everything. I literally walked out and immediately had a phone call to schedule my 'ortho consultation'. If you waited a few days or weeks it probably wouldn't have been as obvious. Ironically we have a Dentist in the family and my children's other Dentist have always been in line with his guidance. She was the first that was completely selling stuff that wasn't necessary. There were about 6 chairs deep of children waiting for exams. There is no privacy for conversations. I heard her conversations to parents around tooth extractions, hygiene, (HIPPA). I'm actually surprised we didn't get up and leave because my gut was very off. This is too bad, you would have had our business until my kids grew older. Bummer. We've since found another great pediatric dentist 30 mins away. And totally worth the drive. read more
