We came in for my 2 year old's first dentist visit. We had been cautious due to COVID. I did my research to try to find the best dentist in the area since I also am particular about my dental experiences. Peak far exceeded my expectations. You have to call before you can be let into the building; one parent per child/patient. The office is bright, clean and welcoming with lovely, relaxing paint colors and beautiful, child friendly art on the walls. With COVID, it is nice to know there are only two families at a time and the staff is all vaccinated. The expectation is everyone wears masks (other than the child). They introduce all the tools before they're used. They have a TV overhead so the child is occupied. It was nice that they ask if the TV can be turned on for your child. Anna and Stephanie were excellent and thorough and explained every procedure as well as answered every question thoroughly and courteously. Dr. Cassinelli came in to examine my son and built an immediate rapport with us. She also was very friendly as well as informative. And at the end of the exam, my son received a toy rubber duckie as well as a dental goodie bag including child floss packets and toothbrush. I am always nervous going to the dentist so I wanted to make sure my son's first experience was comfortable and set a good precedent for the future. Avoid this office if you value transparency and fair treatment. I was initially quoted approximately $1,800 for my son's extraction and filling. On the day of the procedure, they presented a surprise bill for $2,800--a $1,000 increase with no prior notice. Beyond the billing issues, the front desk conduct is deeply concerning. The receptionist, Hailey, displays a clear shift in demeanor based on the ethnicity of the patients she is assisting. From both personal experience and observation, it is evident she lacks the professionalism to treat African American patients with the same courtesy as others. When I chose to reschedule and eventually cancel due to these red flags, they refused to refund my deposit. This isn't just a "misunderstanding"--it's a predatory practice. We used Dr. Cassinelli for both of our sons' tongue tie revisions and were happy with the procedure. The office is beautiful and clean, the procedure was done well and quickly. Our older child has had decent experiences there for dental care. They have TVs above the chair to help keep them entertained/distracted. Unfortunately, once we brought our younger child, it became clear that the positive experiences only exist for compliant children. Our younger one (2 at the time) was afraid of the cleaning and was not cooperating, at least not quickly. As soon as it became clear that he was not having it, the hygienist started pressuring me to hold him down and hold his mouth open so that she could do the cleaning. I explained that, since she had already informed me his teeth were healthy and clean, we would settle for a normal tooth brushing so as not to reinforce his fear. Since he didn't really need a full cleaning at that moment, my priority was to create a positive experience so that he would not develop an enduring fear of the dentist. I also explained that, when possible, we try to respect their bodily autonomy, and I did not feel comfortable holding him down and prying his jaw open when it was not truly necessary. She replied "so if he needs a shot at the pediatrician, what do you do?" That was the moment we decided not to continue with Peak. I did not go there to have my parenting choices judged, and if they disagree that creating a positive experience is important for a 2 year old, then they are not the right fit for us. And by the way, yes, we do hold him still as needed for life-saving vaccinations; that is not the same as a routine dental cleaning. Had he needed an actual procedure, we would have figured out how to make it happen, but that was not the case. When Dr. Cassinelli came in, she was short and brusk, and clearly annoyed with us before she even walked in. This had not been our experience with her in the past; I suppose the hygienist had told her we were being difficult? Finally, they give children tokens for prizes without asking parents. When the 5 year old received one and got to choose a price from the machine, of course the two year old wanted one as well. He was given an age appropriate toy, and they would not exchange it for a token for him as well (again, I am the parent and can judge which toys my child can handle). So, in addition to being scared and having an overall terrible experience, he was also devastated that he did not get a cool prize from the machine like his big brother. A big nope for our little guy, we are switching to a new practice that will respect me as a parent and him as a full human with feelings. read more

Thoroughly pleased with the overall feel of this office. I've had bad encounters with dentists so I did my research before coming to Peak and I was not disappointed at all. From the front desk to the hygienist and the doctor my daughter was their main focus and they did all that they could to make her comfortable for her first ever dentist appointment. During her exam they showed her the tools being used and even turned on a cute show on Netflix to keep her still. The hygienist and doctor made sure I understood what they were talking about as they would explain things to me and at the end I was sent emails of tips for good vs bad snacks and info on her frenulum even though they went over all of this in the office I appreciate getting more literature to further educate myself to help take care of my one year olds teeth was highly appreciated. Peak has earned our business for as long as we're living in Atlanta. read more

The front desk is so amazing and friendly! I brought my 8 year old in and had to reschedule due to insurance issues. When I came back, I was treated like royalty. The equipment they used was state of the art, and my son was so comfortable which is most important. He's lost some teeth, and she was so nice educating my son on how to properly brush. I drive nearly 45 minutes to bring my kids to see Dr. Cassinelli because she and her staff are more than worth it. My kids love going to the dentist and I want to keep it that way. I won't let any other dentist touch their teeth. They are all so friendly and gentle and kind. The office itself is always bright and clean!! The office staff was organized and the office was clean. The young woman who greeted us was friendly. They followed Covid procedures well. My problem is with the dentist, not her staff. She has a poor "bed side manner" and has some serious privilege issues. We came in on a referral from our regular dentist. I was told that insurance would cover the procedure on the phone and out of pocket would be minimal when I originally made the appointment about 3 weeks ago. When I arrived I was asked for a credit card to put on file and told I would have to pay for the full amount if insurance didn't end up covering the procedure. I was shocked by that b/c I wasn't told that originally on the phone. Then the dental assistant was snippy with me about bringing in my son's X-rays. I guess we are back in 1987 because it's my understanding that the referring dentist should have sent those over originally with the referral electronically...you know--over the internet maybe? But What do I know I'm just a poor shmuck. So then after someone else comes in to help me fill out the forms...which were self explanatory...they couldn't tell me how much it would be for the services today or what would be covered. That's rather confusing being that they should know what the price is and what insurance covers. It's not like the price depends on which way the wind is blowing that day. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of money. I told them I wouldn't be able to pay out of pocket if the insurance wasn't going to cover the procedure. Literally I have 48.00 in my checking account after all my bills are paid and that's going to groceries. Payday can't come soon enough!That's embarrassing to admit but hey my kids are healthy, fed and well-adjusted with good grades--we just don't have any fun money or in this case money for an obnoxious dentist. After some back and forth about insurance claims the dentist came back in the room, and in front of my child, said very loudly and in a very agitated state that "You (as in me) are putting me between a rock and a hard place by saying you won't pay anything today". I was taken aback by her curt behavior and I stopped her right there and said no there is a big difference between not wanting to pay and being unable to pay. I said thank you for your time and we left. Bottom line you can't bleed a turnip. Fortunately we have a wonderful pediatrician we've been with for 10 years. I called over to their office and told them what was going on and how the this dentist said he needed antibiotics. They got us in to see a dentist who arranged a payment plan for me so my son could have his procedure this afternoon and get the medicine he apparently needed. They were very kind and fair. Sometimes when humanity sends you a nasty person 3 more kind ones get sent to take the sting out of it. It's sad when people are arrogant and are unwillingly to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. I honestly do not recommend this dentist based on her poor people skills and curt, frazzled behavior. If you don't have a lot of money and rely on insurance please go somewhere else that will treat you with kindness and dignity. This place is super elitist and honestly not worthy of what few dollars you have to spend. It's obvious this dentist is in it to make money not help people. read more

My 3.5 year old son has been seeing Dr. Aimee since his first dentist appointment and while he doesn't love to come (sorry doc), he is as comfortable as I can hope for in these situations. The office is bright and clean and everyone who works here is cheerful and patient (important with grumpy kiddos). The waiting room has lots of chairs (including toddler sized chairs) and toys to occupy the kids when we're filling out paperwork etc. There is plenty of parking in the lot in front of the building, and this location is easy to get to. There are early (before work) appointment times, and they are great with communication (by email and phone and snail mail too). Dr. Aimee and her staff are also great at making the parents comfortable, especially with uncomfortable procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Aimee and this office. read more

We went to Dr. Cassinelli on a recommendation from our pediatrician for a lip tie laser correction for our 4 day old baby. We were having some nursing difficulties and it was due to a small lip tie that was keeping our son from latching fully. We've been down this road before as our first son had a small tongue tie we had to have clipped. I wasn't aware of the laser correction option with my first son (who is now 2 years older), but had I known, I would have absolutely gone this route over the clip procedure as the laser correction seemed to have a much shorter recovery window. We saw immediate improvement with our son's latch and he has continued to nurse perfectly. The other thing I loved about this experience is the customer service and follow-up. Dr. Cassinelli was able to fit us in immediately for the procedure and addressed all of our questions and concerns thoroughly in the initial consult. Her office staff is also incredibly warm and the office itself is a very inviting and calm environment. The first time we went thru this with an ENT and it took us over a week to get an appointment which had greater repercussions in the nursing progress with my first. I was more aware of that this time around which is why I was so grateful to be able to get in quickly for this procedure. The follow-up was also fantastic. Not only did Dr. Cassinelli call the next day to check-in and share some care reminders, but she saw us twice for a quick pop-in follow-up visit. We had no follow-up with the ENT, with our first son, which could just be distinct to that particular practice, but not the best experience nonetheless. Some things I will note about the procedure: - Our pediatrician shared it's a fairly new type of procedure for lip/tongue tie correction. She walked us thru the pros and cons which helped us make a decision to proceed in the direction of laser correction. I would recommend anyone else considering this, have that same conversation. - Our son cried but he stopped crying immediately after it was done and fell asleep pretty quickly and soundly. For the clip procedure our oldest cried as well. I would say a difference in experiences would be that there was a lot of blood with the clip procedure but there was no blood with the laser procedure. - The laser procedure was quicker and appeared easier to perform on a newborn whereas the clip procedure looked harder, took longer, and allowed no flexibility for error as it had to be an exact cut. - Our son did not latch immediately after the laser procedure which was different than our experience with the clip procedure. It could've just been a difference in babies but it took a few hours before our son would latch again. However once he did, it was perfect and less painful than before. - The lip tie laser site did not look the prettiest for the first week post procedure and we had to do some lip stretches to keep it from healing incorrectly. The area eventually healed perfectly and I didn't find the exercises to be inconvenient. - The recovery window was shorter. After the laser procedure it didn't appear that my baby had any discomfort at all which is opposite from the clip procedure with my first. My oldest had swelling for a few days post clip and some discomfort with nursing. It eventually healed and we were able to get to a great place with nursing, it just took a little bit longer than it did with the laser procedure. Overall, this was a great experience and I would highly recommend both the procedure and Dr. Cassinelli to anyone considering it. We would certainly do it again. read more

I was recommended to this dentist from my son's pediatrician. The Dr. and her staff were so welcoming and friendly. My son can be a little rough around the edges sometimes (he's 7) but the hygienist and the Dr. were so kid friendly and handled him without a problem. My son went to brush his teeth and spit water out all over the mirror but the hygienist said "No problem buddy, that happens all the time!" The staff at this dentist office are AMAZING. The office itself is so modern; they have TVs on the ceilings to keep the child's attention while they're getting their teeth clean! If I could give this office 10 stars, I would!
