Dr. Lee of Children's Dentistry of Atlanta was the one that I as told was most referenced. I called when my son was 2.5 and was told that they'd be happy to schedule, but that they don't see kids until they are at least 3. I appreciated the honesty, since the baby magazines tell you to see someone within the first year, particularly when your kid sprouts a tooth. The initial paperwork was 9 pages - which seemed a lot for a dentist - but they make it available online and mail it to you, so it's pretty easy to take care of in advance. The building is conveniently located near the perimeter hospital triad, with the only downside being the $5 parking cost. The waiting room is decked out with movie posters, and interestingly enough, pictures of enticing candy below the sign in window. We signed in, and then headed to the area by the movie. There's a good bit of waiting space, which was good for my wiggly and active son to use to work out some of his energy before going back. The nurse took him back and explained that they prefer to see the kids without the parents. I'm fine with that, since I know my son is especially clingy when I'm there, but independent when I'm out of the room. After a few minutes, the nurse brought me back to show me where my son was receiving treatment, and explained what was being done. Then I went back to the waiting room for another 10 minutes or so, while they finished. Full payment is expected in advance, and then they file for your insurance, such that you get any reimbursement. I can understand why they do this, but it's not my preferred method. I paid and waited to meet the dentist, but my pregnancy brain kicked in, and I ending up leaving before having met Dr. Lee. I appreciated that they called me a few hours later so that Dr. Lee could introduce herself over the phone and explain how they worked with my little fidget to examine his teeth and answer my questions.

I can also honestly say, the only dentist I would see is Dr. Benefield. I do not work with her currently because I decided to stay at home with my 4th child but she is the most honest, gentle, patient, talented and kind hearted person you will ever meet. The current staff is her hand picked team that are truly there for patient care! She is constantly going to classes and seminars to keep up with new and improved products to fit each persons wants and needs and to stay informed of the latest technology. She was always very eager to keep learning and to help others. * I read the one star review from the nameless person and I'm thinking it must have been a walk-in/emergency patient (not of record) that either wanted free work or that got mad about something and wanted to try and hurt her business for some reason (you always have a couple of those). In my 10+years with her, this has NEVER happened....plus we make temporary crowns while the patient waits, in office, in about 20 minutes. We always check the bite, the contacts (flossing between the teeth), etc before seating it with TEMPORARY cement...which comes off pretty easy. If he wanted a temp crown made from the lab (porcelain) then yes it took weeks AND there is a lab fee (which isn't cheap) AND every once in a while (very rarely) the porcelain chips but that's not her fault (it's called a temporary for that reason...they can break). I remember one time that after we seated a permanent crown, the permanent cement attached to the next tooth....but using the serrated strip, it's easy to remove. She's definitely not neglectful, negligent or new to dentistry! I hate that someone would sit behind their computer/phone and write things that could ruin a practice when I know first hand how truly outstanding she is and I've seen the good, bad and ugly sides of dentists!! His story isn't even in the order of how she operates. Not to mention, I've seen her give more things away and do things out of the goodness of her heart to help others! She's wonderful and will find a way to work with your insurance or come up with a plan to do what's best for each person. I'd give her 10 stars if I could!

In the end, it was the money that mattered. Not nice,…read morearrogant, uncaring. As is mentioned in other reviews, poor communication.

A Smile-Inducing Dental Home - Thank You, Kidental!…read more From the moment we step into Kidental, it feels like walking into a place designed just for kids (and their grateful parents!). As a mom, nothing warms my heart more than seeing my son beam with comfort and confidence here. The entire team--from the front desk's cheerful greetings to the dentist's gentle expertise--goes above and beyond to make every visit joyful and stress-free. What truly stands out is how they empower my little one to take ownership of his care. Whether letting him choose a fun toothbrush, explaining tools in kid-friendly ways, or giving him space to ask questions, they make him feel like a partner in his dental health. No rushed vibes, no intimidation--just pure patience and positivity. It's amazing how a dental visit can turn into something he looks forward to! And can we talk about the office? Bright, clean, and buzzing with warmth--it's the kind of place where even I feel instantly at ease. I loved our experiences so much that I'm excited to start my dental journey with Kidental, too! When we arrived, they had run my insurance and they gave me a printed detailed list of all costs for a basic first exam, X-rays and cleaning, including what was covered by my insurance, before I even thought to ask. The hygentist was wonderful and very patient with my son. He was a little anxious and she did a great job of calming him down. I was also really impressed with Dr. Millkey. She had to give me bad news about a severe cavity in one of my son's permanent teeth. But she explained the options clearly - even suggesting we get a quote from our oral surgeon in case it might save us money. She has a wonderful bedside manner, saving the bad news for me alone while my son was distracted picking out a small toy with one of her staff members. It took me a while to find a pediatric dentist that was suitable because when it comes to my baby nothing is ever good enough (lol). I walked into Millkey way and was transported to this fantastical galactic space which took me back to my childhood. The staff at the front desk addressed my son by name. I wondered how they knew then realized we were the only ones in the office. It took me a moment to realize hey, they did not overbook because no one else was scheduled with us. There was no wait time. The dental hygienist took us to the back and got to cleaning my son's tiny teeth . My baby was so comfortable that he layed there, no fuss which I was so thankful for because it put me at ease. Dr. Millkey did her exam after the cleaning. She has such a warm spirit and calm energy. She patiently answered all my questions and when I had no more she gave me a ton of information and pointed out something I had never noticed, my son has and under bite and cross bite. She advised me to wean him off the pacifier to help with those issues. During the 2nd visit x-rays were taken and Dr. Millkey allowed me to view them and take photos. I was so pleased and thankful. I actually saw the permanent teeth in the gums hanging around waiting to descend. I can't say enough about Millkey Way Pediatrics. Friendly staff and amazing Doctor.
