Been going there 20+ yrs. Staff are great. Care seems contemporary. Glad Dr. Nartea moved on.

I wanted to take a moment to recognize the incredible care I've received from Dr. Kang and her…read moreassistants, Sadaf and Saylor. Over the past year, I've had some unexpected challenges with my bite following dental work. Sometimes our mouths change and adapt in ways we don't anticipate, and although the process has been frustrating at times, I've never felt like the team stopped trying to find the best solution. What has stood out to me most is Dr. Kang's commitment to doing things thoroughly rather than taking the easiest or fastest route. She's been willing to reassess my bite, remake crowns when she wasn't completely satisfied with them, and continue working toward a result that feels right instead of settling for "good enough." That level of integrity and attention to detail means a lot. Sadaf and Saylor have also been incredibly kind, patient, and supportive throughout the process. They've always taken the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and make me feel comfortable during each visit. Their compassion and professionalism have made a difficult situation much easier to navigate. Dental work isn't always a straightforward journey, and every person's mouth responds differently. I'm grateful to have a team that genuinely cares about their patients and is committed to providing thoughtful, high-quality care. Thank you, Dr. Kang, Sadaf, and Saylor, for your dedication and for continuing to work with me every step of the way.

I've returned for dental care at Tacoma Smiles on numerous occasions. When Dr. Kang evaluated my…read moredental needs I knew she was accurate because she diagnosed the same issues as other dentists. Dr. Kang is an excellent dentist. Dr. Kang has a soft yet professional touch when providing services and I can relax under her care. I recently had a crown service and Dr. Kang and dental assistant Sadaf worked collaboratively to deliver excellent results. Sadaf was gentle and conveyed an appropriate interest in my welfare which she delivered in a very professional manner. Genuine interest puts me at ease when I'm not treated like a number. Both confirmed the quality of their work before finalizing the crown service. I don't know anyone who gets excited about going to the dentist. But when I go to Tacoma Smiles I receive high quality service and also a breakdown of pre--service costs.

I have been going here for about 12 years now. Katrina in the front office is almost like a family…read moremember after all these years. Dr Obrien is a funny and excellent Dentist! She's no nonsense and gives it to you straight. You have to appreciate that in a dentist! I went in because i chipped a tooth in the back of my mouth, turned out it was vary tiny and smoothed out in no time. Sent me on my way! Made a great deal for me to get a crown much needed at a affordable price. My 15 yr old daughter has gone here since she was a toddler. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else! Thanks again for being Amazing!

Honestly so disappointed with Dr. O'Brien. I went to her after having a really horrible dental…read moreexperience and talked to her about my worries. She has a cold personality. I get it, she likes to keep it strictly professional with absolutely no compassion or kindness. But I expected the quality of my care to at least be good. Nope. First of all, the dental assistant tripped over the cord while doing x-rays of my teeth, which yanked it out of my jaw. Hurt really bad. I decided to let that go. Accidents happen. Then after I specifically asked for laughing gas before my fillings (bad anxiety around dentists), someone forgot to tell the assistant. So while I was sitting there with the numbing gel on my gums, they had to go and get the laughing gas set up, and it took so long that the numbing gel was starting to wear off. Dr. O'brien came in once I was ready to go and inserted the needle for anesthetic without even telling me, and was EXTREMELY rough with the needle. Like... it HURT. Then, once she was done with the fillings, I told her my bite felt off, and she just told me "you're numb and probably just can't even feel it correctly". 2 months later I decided to get the rest of my fillings done elsewhere because I STILL could not chew on the tooth that she filled it was so excruciating. Like, I was crying for the whole first week after my fillings it hurt so bad. The new dentist told me my bite was WAY off from the fillings Dr. O'Brien did, so she fixed that, and that my tooth was likely bruised from the constant agitation of chewing, and we might need to talk about a ROOT CANAL if the pain doesn't subside. All because O'Brien damaged my tooth. Like, the cavity I had wasn't even bad. Just a little guy. And now I'm looking at a possible root canal. Oh, and by the way, my new dentist was so gentle with my anesthesia that I barely felt the needle. And she talked me through the whole thing. Please do not go to Alyce O'Brien. She doesn't care about you, or the quality of her care.

Dentists frighten me in a way that I can't explain. I am over 60 and still nothing terrifies me like the dentist. I made my appointment, and showed up on time. I started talking to the nice lady at the front desk and tears started to trickle out of the corners of my eyes. She asked me if I like dogs. Yes ma'am, I do. i was introduced to the cutest little pug/ weiner dog. How are you going to be sad when you get to pet a dog? The ladies were so kind and gentle. I had a great dentist many years ago, but this was different. Dr. Sanders is so approachable and ernest. She made me feel really good about myself instead of embarrassed. I'll be seeing her again in six months.

I appreciated their honest approach that led me to a referral to an excellent specialist. Since then, I have returned for the successful reattachment of an old crown, originally placed by a different dentist. Today, I was back for a routine checkup, & they were also able to fit in a cleaning. Everybody at this office makes me feel comfortable. It's the first office where x-rays did't feel like torture. They are trustworthy, never suggesting unnecessary work, and being honest when things are out of their scope of expertise. The service provided at by Dr. Sanders at Floss and Fido is nonjudgemental, honest & personable.
