My family and I visited this office four weeks ago and were very pleased with our initial…read moreexperience. Dr. Golestani was extremely informative and kind, and Dr. Natalie was wonderful with my children. During that visit, it was recommended that my 7-year-old son have a baby tooth extracted because his adult tooth had already begun to grow behind it, and the baby tooth was not loose. Fast forward to today, and we had an appointment scheduled for Friday, 12/13/2024, for the extraction. On Tuesday, my husband called the office with questions about the procedure, specifically regarding the use of laughing gas and the numbing process. He first spoke with Chelsea at the front desk, who was very polite and provided some answers. She also emailed us instructions to review before the visit. After reading the instructions and discussing the call, we had additional questions, so my husband called back. The second time, he spoke with a male staff member whose name we didn't catch. Unfortunately, the information he provided was unclear, and there seemed to be a misunderstanding about what we were asking. We wanted to know if laughing gas was a mandatory part of the procedure, as I recalled having a similar extraction as a child with just numbing, no gas. Additionally, we were curious about why we were instructed to give our son 1 tsp of Benadryl an hour before the procedure and wanted to understand the rationale behind that step. We also noticed that the instructions stated parents would need to wait in the waiting room during the procedure, which concerned us. After several calls, my husband mentioned that the last two people he spoke with--the male staff member and Edy, the office manager--were rude. He understood they might have been frustrated with the repeated calls, but their tone was unprofessional and unacceptable. Hearing this, I decided to step away from work to call the office myself. When I called, Chelsea answered and, as before, was kind and tried to help. She explained that Edy, the office manager, would be better able to address my questions but was on lunch at the time. Edy later returned my call, but we missed it, so I called her back. While Edy answered my questions, she did not apologize for the way she spoke to my husband. On Wednesday, I called again to speak with Chelsea because I appreciated her politeness and wanted to see if we could request an exception to allow one of us to stay in the room with our son during the procedure. Chelsea informed me that their director did not permit parents in the procedure room. While she wasn't rude, this policy left us feeling uncomfortable. To gain more perspective, we contacted three other pediatric dental offices to ask about their procedures for baby tooth extractions. Each of them said parents were welcome in the room, as if it were standard practice. After this, my husband and I decided to postpone our son's procedure and cancel the appointment at this office. At 4:15 PM, I called the office to cancel the appointment. My call went to voicemail, and I received a text message stating that the office was closed. However, their website clearly showed they were open until 6:00 PM. Out of curiosity, I called again using a different number, and the male staff member answered the phone. I told him who I was and mentioned that I had been sent to voicemail earlier and received a text stating the office was closed, which was untrue. I also brought up my husband's earlier experience with him and Hedy, expressing our disappointment. It's unfortunate because I really liked Dr. Golestani. However, due to the way the front desk staff--specifically the male employee and Edy--handled this situation, we will not be returning to this office. As a family visiting for the first time, we had valid concerns and questions about a procedure for our young child. We did not appreciate the dismissive attitude, the rude tone, or the misleading voicemail and text. As the first point of contact for patients, the front desk staff should be kind, patient, and professional. I wish I could let Dr. Golestani know directly about how we were treated because this experience does not reflect well on the office overall.

Avoid this dental practice!…read more This place is a money pit and they routinely up charge their services without permission from the parents. My 7 yr old daughter required services from this practice and while the dentist was good we would get unusually high bills for additional services that weren't explained prior to the appointment. What put the icing on the cake for me, after dealing with many of these up charges, was one of the receptions indicating that they needed to give my daughter nitrous oxide as anesthesia so that the dentist could on a spacer. I told the receptionist that we are declining that service and they did it anyway, without my consent. And to add insult to injury, they insisted that I pay for it!!! This place prioritizes profit over patient relationships and their nickel and diming coupled with the rudeness of the office manager made me change dentists. They will offer you unnecessary procedures/services and be rude to you if you do not consent. Steer clear of this place.

It was an incredibly stressful experience for our family. What made all the difference was Dr. Sacks response. Even though it was after hours and the office was closed for the weekend, Dr Sacks personally contacted us, oversaw her care, and opened the office on the weekend to perform necessary oral surgical intervention and stabilization. During her recovery--while her jaw was wired shut for healing--the doctor checked in multiple times throughout the week, monitoring her progress, answering questions, and making sure there were no complications. We never felt rushed or dismissed, and we always felt supported. Dr. Sacks combined clinical expertise with genuine compassion, turning a frightening emergency into a manageable and reassuring experience. We are deeply grateful for the care our daughter received and would wholeheartedly recommend this orthodontist to any family seeking expert treatment and truly attentive care. Absolutely do not recommend this practice…read more I ended up here for an emergency appointment in March of 2024. I went back for a cleaning & they talked me into spending $900 out of pocket for perio trays, which were going to heal my gums, and "push the gel up into the gums" I used the trays but never saw any improvement. Went back to a previous dentist that was in network & now closer to where I moved. They asked me when my last cleaning was, and I said March of 2024. They said that some of my build up was black, meaning it has been there for quite a while and there's no way the previous place did any level of quality cleaning. I told them about the perio trays, and they had never even heard of them and said that it was absolutely impossible for anything to be pushed up into the gums like Art of Smile convinced me the perio trays do. At this time, they referred me to a periodontist for an evaluation because of gum inflammation & bleeding and I had a deep scaling done & gums already feel & look better in TWO WEEKS with 90% less bleeding. Periodontist never heard of Perio trays either. In summary, The Art of Smile: - Didn't do a quality teeth cleaning - Wasted $900 dollars out of pocket for something that wasn't even capable of what they claimed - Never mentioned that they didn't take my insurance, so everything was taken out of my small out of network amount - Didn't inform me of the level of my gum issue - Didn't refer me to a periodontist or recommend a deep cleaning - Had to chase them for months for a receipt for FSA - which disabled my card for months, then couldn't even provide me with an itemized receipt (HOW?) - There was a small space between two of my teeth, AOS told me I should just replace both teeth to fill in the gap. That gap was caused by my gum inflammation and will close as my gums heal after the deep scaling. - When I complained to them, they didn't even apologize. Just told me they'd remove me from their list & have a good day. All of these things, allowed my condition to worsen. This practice is absolutely deplorable, and the fact that you can't hold any of these horrible places accountable is astonishing. I don't ever write reviews, but I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through and waste their time or money.
