Outstanding care during a dental emergency: After a traumatic fall, my daughter suffered significant dental trauma, including four mobile teeth, and we spent the night in the emergency department on a Friday evening. It was an incredibly stressful experience for our family. What made all the difference was Dr. Sacks response. Even though it was after hours and the office was closed for the weekend, Dr Sacks personally contacted us, oversaw her care, and opened the office on the weekend to perform necessary oral surgical intervention and stabilization. During her recovery--while her jaw was wired shut for healing--the doctor checked in multiple times throughout the week, monitoring her progress, answering questions, and making sure there were no complications. We never felt rushed or dismissed, and we always felt supported. This is every parent's haven when it comes to your child's orthodontic needs. This place is emasculate with scheduling , as we never have to wait for our appointments, unless any other medial practice where you wait for so long. Their facility is super clean, extremely modern and people are so nice and courteous. Dr Sacks is amazing and can handle the most complicated case as well ( in my daughter's case) Kids love their goodies which they are so generous about. We live in Los Angeles and were visiting family in New Jersey. While we were there the wire in my son's braces popped out and we couldn't get it back in. It was a Saturday and I started randomly calling orthodontists. I reached Dr. Sacks' office and explained the situation and the pain my son was in. They were empathetic to our situation and told us to come right over. We got to the office, waited 10 minutes and then the Dr. saw us. It was like watching a NASCAR pit crew take the tires off a car. They popped the bands off the brackets, took out the old wire and inserted a new one with no questions asked. They were just helping a Dad out of town with a kid in need. A couple of things (a) I realize we got lucky it was the 1 Saturday a month the Dr. had office hours and (b) we were lucky he was able to slide us into his schedule...but the truth is his office could've told us were not patients, "sorry," or "our schedule is too full, sorry," and they didn't. To me that is not only a sign of a good doctor but a great person. read more

Very rude with bad attitude, AVOID Dr Sacks if you might want to ask questions to understand the risk and benefits of treatment rather than blindly accepting everything. We had a very bad experience in a follow-up consultation visit (my kid is still a few years away from starting orthodontic treatments). During the visit, we are asked to do another panoramic x ray that we just had a year ago. Asking and understanding why it is still needed seems to trigger Dr Sacks and we are "suggested" to see a different orthodontist and we are forced to leave. Be careful! Just got evaluation for my daughter orthdontic treatment. Lady named ALBA, I can call a liar, at 1st told me the cost will be $5749 and my insurance will cover $2000 due to lifetime cap. So I am responsible for $3749 and she added she already checked with my insurance. The I told her you need to send quota to my insurance for preapproval since I am pretty sure that insurance will cover 50% of cost, also insurance will quota treatment cost $4700. Than she said that is what insurance quota, and did search online than comeback with that "yes, your insurance will cover $2375 for you. but you still need to pay $3374. This doctor is not my orthodontist from years ago, but he nevertheless saw me today to take a look at my broken (and painful) permanent retainer. I was able to get a next day appointment and once I was in the waiting room, I was seen within minutes. The office staff and doctor were all very friendly. My consultation was free, but this office went the extra step to temporarily fix my broken retainer until I have time to have it replaced or a new retainer made. Since I am currently 37 weeks pregnant, a quick fix was exactly what I needed to get me through the rest of this pregnancy. They made a lasting impression on me. I will definitely be back to get a more permanent solution to my problem and this will be my go to office when my nine-year-old is ready for braces. UPDATE: I went back to this orthodontist to get a quote on moving one tooth that had slightly shifted into a space I was saving for a dental implant that I need done. The orthodontist informed me that the treatment should take no more than a couple of months. The quote for this service? $2,800. Ouch. My teenager had braces for just over two years and the total price for that service was $1,500. Needless to say, I'll be going to another orthodontist! read more

I called to make an appointment and the lady that answered me named Eliana was very rude. As I was waiting for her to find an appointment for me she hung up on me. I called back 3 times and all 3 times she hung up on me. The last time i called, i recieved a recording telling me that they were closed. She could have handled this better and more professionally. This was the absolute best experience ever and I am forever grateful! As an adult I was very nervous going to the orthodontist. Twenty years ago as a kid my orthodontist was in a dingy place and leave I would leave in pain. Dr. Sacks' office is clean, modern with tons of amenities, and upbeat. You also get in right on time. The staff from the moment you walk in the door to leaving is so kind, smiling, and available to answer any questions. I wish I had been taking my daughter here from the very start! Dr. Sacks is great! I could tell that he was less than thrilled with my daughter's progress under a prior orthodontist. I'm SO happy that he took the reigns. The poor kid has had these braces for four years! He said he would have them off within a year. They just moved into a new office on Livingston Avenue and it's beautiful! Large, spacious waiting room with several TV's and two video game consoles. The work area is spacious and well lit and all of his equipment is state of the art. I love the layout in that all the patient chairs are in a line down the center of the main room. But not so close that you're on top of each other. It gives a better feeling. At least that's how my daughter felt and she's the one sitting in the chair. Each patient chair had it's own TV mounted on the wall so you could watch while being worked on. His staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. So far I've needed to bring my daughter in twice for adjustments (wires poking into her cheeks) and they took us both times right away. I highly recommend Dr. Sacks. read more

At the age of 55, I was contemplating getting braces for the first time, as crazy as that may sound. After 6 consultations, I decided to JUST DO IT and chose Dr. Sacks for my Orthodontist and I'm 100% confident I made the right choice!! I can't praise Dr. Sacks and his staff enough for how happy I am with the results of my porcelain braces. I was told I'd be looking at 18-24 months in braces but my teeth moved quicker than expected and I am now out of the braces in just 13 months. My results are beyond what I expected Dr. Sacks would be able to achieve in my rather "lived in" mouth. I can't stop looking in the mirror and smiling. My teeth are so straight AND whiter than they've ever been. My husband can't stop complimenting me on my new smile. Dr. Sacks doesn't mess around. He takes care of business, he knows what he's doing and he does it well. He is extremely knowledgeable, personable, professional and has a sense of humor to boot. A real pleasure. There was never a "wait" time. I was on time for every appt. and never had more than a minute or two before my name was called and that was very important to me since most visits were on my lunch hour. All the girls at the front desk know you by name and always greet you with a hello and a smile when you arrive. All his chair-side assistants throughout the process were all top notch and so pleasant and answer any questions you may have. No attitude whatsoever in this office which is hard to come by. Dr. Sacks is knowledgeable and kind. I went to him for a second opinion after another orthodontist recommended getting teeth removed, which i was not prepared or comfortable in doing. Dr. Sacks also recommended the same oral surgery, but listened to my fears and concerns, he then explained the pros and cons with and without the teeth being removed.
