Welp, it looks like someone missed their Smash/Rage Room rezzies and decide to take it out on my car. OFC, they didn't leave a note. Anything car-related stresses me out because I feel like women can easily be taken advantage of and ripped off. I turned to Yelp's Projects, to contact a bunch of PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) businesses for an estimate and included pictures of the large dent on my driver's side door. For good measure, I also texted several businesses I found on google. The ones on google never responded to my texts. Six out of the eight businesses I contacted on Yelp responded to me. Two said, they couldn't help me and that I had to bring my car to a body shop. The others estimated $800-$1000++. A SF car detailer recommended Ron from DentTech. He worked with Ron for years before Ron went mobile. Ron quickly responded to my message and said, if his appointment(s) ended early, he could come over later that day. Several hours later, he messaged saying, he was on his way over. Upon further inspection, he found two little bumps from the impact and said, he'll try to fix them as well. In less than an hour, he messaged me that he was done! My car looks just as good as new. Best of all, his estimate beat out the others and saved me $$$. Super friendly and even came to where I was to inspect my car before working on it. Whole process was quick and easy, only took like 40 minutes to remove the dents from the quarter panel of my car. If you need dents, scratches removed, Ron is your guy! Several times, I've had my new car scratched and hit (without knowing the perpetrator) and instead of going through insurance, it made much more sense to get it fixed myself with how frequent these little fixes are needed. Ron really knows what he's doing with all the experience he has! Someone kicked my front passenger car door and left a noticeable dent on the body line. It's a Tesla Model 3, so the door is aluminum and kind of hard to work with. I took it to a body shop and they told me it would need extensive repairs that included painting and blending with my fender and rear door. Since there was no paint chipping I decided to see if I could repair it with paintless dent removal. I reached out, and Ron came to me within a couple of hours. I had another door ding on the front passenger side, and he took care of that one too. Everything was fixed in a couple of hours. He didn't quite have enough access to remove the dent completely, but he said it was about 95%. It looks really good. Ron's rate was reasonable, and he provides quick and great service. Excellent job very nice guy. And he knows way more about dent repair than the dealership you purchased your car from. My AMG had two very small dents was recommended to have the work done by Ron but since I had to get service done on the car at the time took it to the DEALER to see if their paintless dent guy could do they called him a specialist far from it they said they would have to remove door paneling to remove so it couldnt be done. I said well I know of someone that said he could do long story short doubled back with Ron and in 20 minutes the two dents were gone and i didnt even have to open the car door. I just availed myself of Ron's services again, for the 2nd time. The first time was for a dent in my 2021 Toyota Venza, and now, this time, for my classic 1996 Porsche 911. I had a big dent on the right front fender, and a ding on the same fender. Since there were no scratches on them, I decided to do a PDR job on them and searched for PDR technicians. Among several guys that I contacted, Ron was the only one who was willing to do the job asap at a very reasonable price. Although I had to visit him to get it done since he hesitated to cross the Bay Bridge on the weekend to get to my place in the Easy Bay, I think it was worthwhile considering the reasonable price and the quality of the final result. According to Ron, he has been in this business for about 19 years now, and I could see it was true by observing how delicately he worked on the affected portion of my car. He finished the work in one and a half hour as promised, and l was impressed by the result. The ding was gone, and the dent was hardly recognizable. Unless I meticulously observe the reflection of objects on the fender, I cannot tell whether there was a dent there. First thing about PDR - Its a dark art rather than a science. There are dents that are perfect candidates for PDR and there are others that aren't. Those two categories are the easy ones for repair techs to deal with, the trickiest dings are the ones that can't be made exactly perfect again - that's where the mastery comes in. There are a lot of people out there that will make big promises and leave you with a mess, others won't even consider touching a project that they can't make perfect. Communicating expectations to customers for those types of challenging repairs is where Ron really shines. Our Mini has three annoying dents, two on the roof and one on the driver's door that was a real eyesore. I would have needed between $1800 and $2200 of traditional body work to perfectly fix three dents, but it wasn't worth the investment - we didn't need it perfect, just as good as we could get it so it wasn't an eyesore. Other PDR people either wouldn't touch the car or said they could get it perfect, neither of which was confidence inspiring. It took a couple of days of back and forth to get setup, but Ron told us exactly what he was going to do and painted (pun not intended) a very accurate picture of what the repairs would look like, exceeded our expectations and charged a fair price ($400) plus he was also great to work with. read more
